Retro Vib Saw Synth Pack (10 Hex Tones)

Here's some of my synth tones I've created. I collected them and categorized them. This is a set of 10 saw based tones. These were all inspired by one thing or another. The cryptic abbreviations of the tones hint at what I was going for although now I don't even remember some of them.

MONO Synth

This is a TRUE MONOPHONIC Synth!!
I figured out how to implement a MONOPHONIC function utilizing the Arpeggiator. You have to use a sound with a slow attack and long release or else it sounds weird. Set the attack and release to the same rates (I found +30 is pretty good). It's still slightly choppy, but probably isn't noticeable when you play a solo. All other functions work INCLUDING PORTAMENTO!!! For some reason when you first pull this up the cutoff is set really low. So, just touch slider 1 when it comes up and play all you want. I created a MONOPHONIC setting in position 100 on the Arp and included that file here as well (not sure if it comes along with the stage setting).
On the Arp, I have it set to high note priority, but you can reverse that by setting 1U to 1L in the Arp.

slider & Knobs....overdrive with Wheel and set resonance with sliders ..
you really have to play with knobs wheel and sliders too add stuff....

Oberish Pad

This is a unique pad with Oberheim and Moog type overtones. Responds excellent to velocity (play soft for best rresults) This pad has all zones with full key range. You ccan really modify to your liking by playing with the key ranges, particularly the bass (to have more or less bottom end). Will upload another version with the key ranges modified. AFRICA PAD

I just created what I think is a fabulous Pad with gentle EP1 in the background. Perfect for Ballads or especially Awesome for Church Ambiance background behind a Pastor speaking or praying. I took the elements of Africa Stage Setting 7 - 3 went into the Hex Layer and removed the percussive attack of it - Then built the other 3 zones from there ...It resembles some of the best Pad's the Yamaha Motif has to offer - I think it sounds better ...

Fly Like an Eagle

This stage setting lets me cover the synth parts (no organ) of Steve Miller's 'Fly Like An Eagle'. It's designed to let me cover bass on gigs when there is no bass player. There are 4 parts:
Spacey sequencer thing (D1) - arpeggiated tone w/ tempo-synced delay and enough feedback achieve the repeating, overlapping effect heard during the intro and throughout the song in various places. I transposed this one-note zone and placed it on D1 (plays A) so that I could reach it with my left pinky and still play bass parts, some gigs I need to do that. Since I don't use the arp's hold function, I can do some nice things with it, rhythmically - quick taps, taps of longer duration, etc. Play around with it and see what you come up with. Bass (E1-E3) Drone, A note (G3) - extra, not part of the song. Adds ambiance to the intro and quieter parts of the song. Press the sustain pedal (set to toggle sustain) and play G3 on the 1 of the intro riff. I let this note continue to sound through the song because it works over all the chords and is quiet enough to only be heard during quieter parts. Synth (A3 - G9) - tone w/ tempo-synced delay to stack 3rds onto the ascending intro riff. I play thru the riff 3 times: 1/4 notes, 1/4 note triplets, followed by an alternating combination triplet and straight 1/16(?) notes. I hold the last note of the third run, and one beat later I press D1 (spacey seq). I continue holding both keys until I hear the white noise fade in, then let go of both when it sounds about right. Hopefully your guitar player is awake, hears the timing, and starts his intro riff on the right beat.
For the rest of the song, I get creative about where and when I use the spacey seq and synth parts - sometimes I'll do a gliss, other times a minor pentatonic lick/arpeggio. You almost can't go wrong with anything you do here. It's a pretty fun stage setting. If you dl this, let me know what you think.

Oberish Pad2

The same as the "Oberish Pad", but I went ahead and changed the key range on two zones to take the bottom end out for a very smooth mid range old school oberish type pad. Use the 1st slider to get more moogish pornamento ring. You pad to twek to your liking to show unique possibilities with the PX5S. Enjoy - Walt
