  1. Thanks so much this is a very compelling package and love Casio/AIX. Cheers
  2. Thanks and sorry I edited the thread. What about general eq or overall voicing. Any revisions?
  3. Hello! Are there any improvements in the overall sonics for AIX tones. I believe I read there would be some but just wanted to validate. Love the other Casios but would appreciate any improvements in frequency response. Cheers
  4. Hello! Can anyone help me please to modify a tempo on a recorded song? I tried using overdub...i can change it while the song is playing but it does not work for the entire song. I tried song edit mode and change tempo and this doesn't work either. Thanks,
  5. Hey good stuff thanks for sharing this is really great! Much appreciated.
  6. So anyone actually using the internal EQ's on your keyboards ever?
  7. Hey guys, I am currently using a CT-X5000 and think many of the sounds and general tone may have some overlap across Casio models. My question is for situations where you are using line out (not using internal speakers). Is there a common theme with the Casio sound? I believe it is mid to bright ranging by default (when using the line out into my KRK speakers). This may be a good thing for modern music. I am mostly looking at improving the bass and possibly reducing the mids. What would be your EQ'ing settings that works well when looking for a production sound? Anyone using external EQ's? Anyone using the internal EQ's? Which settings? I am not sure if the default EQ on my CTX has the best setting in general. I tried using the custom EQ but sometimes just increasing the levels for the bass tracks works even better. I am also trying to understand the user EQ in my CT-X5K. There is an option called input/output level. Not sure how this changes anything. I had a previous post about comparing with Yamaha sound. The Yamaha is really more bassy and full sound. I can get close with my CTX but it's always different. Casio sound is actually pretty good. I would like to know how to best adapt it to situations. Cheers
  8. Yes it is the system track on the 5000. I use it to record my rhythms and the active registration (upper/lower part) at the same time. It is very nice but sometimes I need to replacr the drum part with my own user rhythm for example. If you clear the accomp from the system track, you can enable overdubbing to keep the rest of the parts intact (u/l keyboard parts for example) When you start to record, the keyboard part of the system track will playback and the new drums get recorded (overdubbed) on the previously cleared drum part. This only applies for the system track. Solo tracks are simpler as per Brad's comment above but I prefer to start with the system track (everything at the same time)
  9. Guys I found it. It's very esoteric but it works fine. Actually there are 2 ways : **Delete drums in song system track and re-record** Song edit(hold "function")>> whole track>> accompclr (clears the drum track) Record enable song>>right arrow>>set recording to overdub (2) Long press rhythm (this ams the selected drum track > press again to select drum patch Press start to record **To modify drums patch only in system track** Song edit>>Trk event>enter>enter>down arrow>>Rhythm select rhythm patch while the song plays Exit
  10. Thanks it would just be odd to have an option to delete the accomp. but not re-record it but maybe it's just what it is. Thanks and please let me know if you can find a way? Maybe something to include in the next update.
  11. Hi, I have figured out ow to delete the drums/accompaniement part on my song system track while leaving the rest of the system track intact. I need to know how I can re-record the drums only. I tried to set recording to overdub as well as punch in and in both cases I cannot arm the drum tracks like I do when it is a blank system track. Thanks
  12. Good stuff! Playing by hand is never perfect. It's actually the same when using a computer. I have not used the track editing to that extent yet but can already see this having to take notice next time. I can tell you that this Casio is well made because if you start to play the notes just before the recording starts, it will align it pefectly with the beginning of the bar.
  13. OK so I found it in a previous post. Need to be press "edit" mode to make modifications, go to "mixer" and then "exit".
  14. Hello, I tried recording a few tracks but I am unable to edit and save mixer settings (sends) on a song. I can change the settings manually but whenever I get out and back the defaults come back (defaults are not what I want). I tried setting the levels and saving with the registration but this doesn't work either..as soon as I go back in song mode the levels go back to some default Please help
  15. Hey Brad I think I got it. The effects 2 section is set by which ever effect you have going on at the time when you do the MIDI recording. For separate effects 2 on rhythms, it can be set up in drum mode but may be overriden if recorded in MIDI. This is actually quite simple and effective. Makes sense. I tested a midi recording with effects with a separate effect on the active registration and both work at the same time. I will play around a bit more and post if I have questions. Cheers
  16. sorry Brad I edited my previous post. Please have a look? thanks : Can you please explain how I take advantage of system effect 2 (fx2) and DSP 2-3? Only time I can get 2 different effect is when a rhythm played directly (fx2) and my playing with a registration (fx1). As soon as it gets recorded it shares the same one as the registration (fx1) where the diagram would lend towards fx2. This is confusing. I can't find a way to change effects for FX2 anywhere. Now DSP2 and 3 is also still a mystery.. thanks

  18. Hello, I beleive the expression pedal for the CT-X will only affect volume. Can anyone please clarify what this means in real terms? Is it the master volume for the whole synth or is it only the system layer (U/L) ? Can it be assigned to a specific part otherwise? Thanks!
  19. I don't think you can get anything better than the actual presets already provided which are already quite nice and above average. It really depends on the speakers (hopefully you are sending this to bigger speakers or headphones). Do adjust the key strenght to hard I believe it would help to tame the brightness. You can also look closing/opening the filter to your liking. My main focus is typically on adjusting the eq to my system. I tend to lean on user eq where you can bring down some mids and slightly increase the lows and highs. There is also some DSP eq's you can try with a slight bit of chorus on top maybe..should be good.
  20. Thanks Brad! Will this be reported to Casio? Just asking.. 🙂 thanks
  21. OK at least now we understand. It's not a big problem because it happens on some other synths and software as well. If it sounds good it must be expensive on CPU 🙂 I will try to be more careful and more conservative. It is not always necessary to have so much going at the same time. There are so many patches sometimes you can switch a HQ sound with a lighter sound in the background it will be almost the same. I think you can sometimes use a long delay instad of sustain it will sound almost the same. It would be nice if Casio could adress this but it the solution could be worse (change it to dropping notes instead or monophonic only etc..) Better to leave it at that if there is no other way. I am Ok with this. For the midi jitter, this should be a similar case if you have too much going on. I don't export the midi but plan on recording it. Hopefully the same conservative logic can apply..
  22. OK Brad! Sooo after tracing back this one I am able to replicate it. It is so far only one preset (352 X-synLd4). My original was a user preset. If you set sustain "on" and play multiple notes with a beat, the beat will go off eventually and break down and come back. I put the beat at 150 BPM to make this happen quicker but it will also work at 85BPM which was my original. This is probably because of too much CPU for this preset. I first thought it was polyphony maxing but I tried with other presets and it didn't do it. I am hoping that Casio will be able to improve this one and if others too. But it is no big problem some of these presets take a lot of juice I know now to play this tone carefully. Probably the "lead" name means to play like a mono synth only a few notes at a time. It happens with good synths sometimes! I really love this keyboard BTW it's really great!! Thanks in advance!!
  23. Has anyone actually opened a ticket with Casio or complained directly to them? I have OS 1.06 is this the reason why? Is there an official statement anywhere or anyone else with this? This forum can't possibly be the only place to talk about this and it doesn't seem like much is being done here anyways.
