  1. THANK YOU!!! for ur post abt how to record from song recorder to usb!!! (Privia)...phew!

  2. In a Stage Setting that only has 1 zone active (such as 0-0) go into Edit -> Stage Setting -> Zone Edit -> MIDI Edit and change Generator Out to Off. This turns off the internal sound generator for that zone, but will still send MIDI data.
  3. Available to download here: http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/1-px-5s-v110-stage-settings/
  4. One suggestion for auditioning downloaded stage settings is have one stage setting on the PX5 you are willing to write over, something you think you'll never use. Keep that one as the place you load in the downloaded sounds to audition them. The factory presets are available in the downloads section anyway, so you won't lose anything by writing over the top of any presets. You're definitely in the right place if you're feeling lost and confused! Also join the Facebook group (in Scott's signature above), plenty of people there to help you along - everyone was in the same position as you at some point.
  5. Perhaps the PX-780 might be a better fit for you? Offers all the features of the PX350 but in the nice cabinet with the powerful speaker system (same as PX850) - and a line input. You do however lose the lift up lid, and the "design your own piano" features (adjustable hammer response, adjustable resonance and lid simulator) but you do gain the line input, plus a whole load more tones and rhythm patterns. It's a question of which features are most important to you.
  6. The PX5S has the AiR sound source which uses Casio's Lossless Audio Compression technology, whereby the samples are compressed, however when played are then un-compressed with no reduction in sound quality. So what you hear is identical to the original sample, as if it was never compressed in the first place.
  7. Hi danielk Can you just clarify how you have the iPod connected? Part of your explanation above isn't quite clear, and suggests you've tried multiple ways of connecting. The only way to do this is headphone output of the iPod connected to Line In of the AP650 with a 3.5mm stereo -> 2x 1/4inch Y cable Double check you're connected to Line In on the piano, not Line out - it can be easy to mix these up when plugging things in underneath the piano.
  8. Other than the two methods you are already trying to avoid (manually through the function menu, or switching off and on again) maybe you could set up a registration which is Grand Piano, with transpose/octave shift at 0 and use that as your "default" to change back to. From there you can then choose any tone you wish and the transpose/octave shift will still be at 0.
  9. Hi Stephen The WAV files need to be placed in the "Audio" folder on your USB. They also need to be named "TAKExx.wav" with xx being numbers from 01 up to 99 You may find the audio files you've created will need to be dropped in volume by about 20-30% for them to be at a reasonable volume to play over the top of when playing back through the AP-650. Unfortunately on this model you can't control the volume of the audio file playback on the piano, so you'll need to have this set before hand. To play the Wave file: 1) Have USB plugged in 2) Press the AUDIO RECORDER button as many times as needed until the light is solid (not flashing) 3) While holding the FUNCTION button, press the AUDIO RECORDER button 4) Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to choose which file you wish to play - the numbers here correspond to the last two digits of the file name (TAKExx) 5) Press Play - away she goes!
  10. Hi David I've now had a chance to sit in front of an AP450 to suss this out. Step 3 in the manual where it says "Press the Song Recorder button until its lamp is lit" to be clear means "Press and HOLD the Song Recorder button until its lamp is lit (solid)" Once you do that, the Song Recorder light will be solid, the track you have selected to delete will be flashing, and the other track light will be off. Now while holding Function, press the Song Recorder button to delete the track.
  11. Set Bank MSB to 112 Bank LSB to 36 Program is the number of the stage setting you want to call up. (00 - 99)
  12. Hi areaman Also note that the "Navigation Channel" is where you can choose which track of the MIDI file the keyboard will use to light up keys / show the notes on the screen. Check page 34 of the manual for how to change this if needed.
  13. Hi David BradMZ is correct. The flashing track is the one that is selected. At the end of your video you needed to press Song Recorder again, so the light is solid, not off. After that while holding Function, Press the Song Recorder button to delete the selected track.
  14. Hi David I'm glad you've had some success. In that video it seems that you've pressed only the Play button on it's own rather than pressing Play while holding the Function button. If you don't hold Function before you press Play, the piano will play back whatever has been recorded to the internal Song Memory, rather than the Audio Wave file from the USB. This is what you heard playing back in that video. As for selecting which song you want to play back, yes the original manual was somewhat misleading and has been amended to reflect that once you have selected a song using + / - , you then need to start the song by holding the Function button and pressing Play. In terms of whether this process makes sense or not, I'll pass that feedback through. There has at least been an update to the manual with the changes we have been talking about here. Please refer to the updated manual here: http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/AP450_EN.pdf With descriptions of what has been updated in the manual listed here: http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/AP450_LEAF2_EN.pdf
  15. Hi David I'll put a video together when I get a chance. We do have a lot of videos on how to perform different operations, unfortunately we haven't done this one yet. Note above where I have said the lights should continue to flash, I was incorrect there and have edited the above post. In the mean time here's a step by step 1. With USB inserted, press [AUDIO RECORDER] button so that the orange and red lights next to "Song Play/Stop" light up to indicate Audio Mode is on. (if you have only just plugged the USB in, the L/R lights may flash for a few seconds while the USB drive is loading - don't press anything if this is happening, just wait until the Song Play/Stop lights come on) 2. Press the [sONG RECORDER] button as many times as needed so that the Song Recorder light is solid. (Usually just 1 press, but depends on what mode this was in prior to you performing this operation) 3. Audio recording will now begin automatically when you begin to play. the Song Recorder light will flash a few times to indicate Audio Recording has started. 4. When finished your playing, press [AUDIO RECORDER] button to stop the recording. The Orange and Red "Song Play/Stop" lights will flash a few times to indicate the file is being saved - wait until they stop flashing. 5a. If here you wish to immediately play this file back - while holding the [FUNCTION] button, press the [sONG PLAY/STOP] button. or 5b. If you wish to choose a different file to play back, while holding [FUNCTION] button, press the key that corresponds with "Song Select + / -" to move up or down 1 song file at a time. You will hear a beep to indicate the change in song playback. Now while holding [FUNCTION] press [sONG PLAY/STOP] to start the playback. or 5c. To record another audio file, simply begin playing again to engage the recording. Go back to step 3 once finished. 6. When finished in Audio Mode, press [AUDIO RECORDER] to exit audio mode for normal piano play. Again, it's best to think of the [AUDIO RECORDER] button as a mode switch between audio mode on, and audio mode off, as opposed to a button that needs to be pressed in a sequence to perform the operation. If you come to the piano only wanting to play back a file, and not record, do step 1, then step 2, then step 5b. I hope this helps straighten it out,
