  1. Have you considered exploring the 560 a bit yourself and learning to program some sounds on your own? It's very easy and can be a creative thing in and of itself. And in doing so you will come up with new sounds down the line that you like prefer, plus you can tailor things to your own taste on the sound in a song you are looking to emulate. In the song C N you are asking about, they are very easy to emulate, just string/synth based pads really.
  2. Brad, they list you as an "expert" for a reason, thank you very much, that did the trick, what I was missing. Thanks again.
  3. I'm trying to save a change I made to a MIDI parameter from the MIDI menu, Hi Res Vel Out to "OFF" from "ON". When I save/write a registration patch, this change isn't saved. Am I missing something or can these values not be saved at the registration level per patch? I actually don't need it saved per patch, just saving this MIDI value change globally is fine for my use.
  4. ah, bummer, ok. Would be really nice to have each part have it's own modifiable MIDI channel for flexibility. In my case it's no big deal, I'll just record the fixed MIDI channel it's stuck on to the DAW. What I still don't understand is how changing the keyboard MIDI global channel also changes the MIDI channel xmitted of the lower 1 sound I have programmed to be silent(sound turned to 0) to trigger my DAW is offset by 2 as I explained a few post above.....this seems to indicate the master MIDI channel that is only suppose to change Upper 1 MIDI channel does more than that. In any case, thanks again for the information Brad.
  5. So there's no way to change the MIDI channel for lower 1, 2 and upper 2, one just can change the MIDI channel for upper 1 sound? I was digging a bit to find it and couldn't.
  6. I think this is where I'm missing something.....I thought having the global/high level MIDI channel set at 1, any sound part being played, Lower 1/2, Upper 1/2, if there's that many sounds, will all xmit on MIDI channel 1?
  7. Alright, so far so good....hex method works great. Also have some patches of just the piano sound on the entire keyboard, I split as suggested/assigned a bass sound to the left spilt point of the last few keys, turned the volume down in balance to zero for the bass sound, and works perfect, soundless 6 bottom keys but still sends MIDI commands to my DAW perfectly. But strange finding....have the MIDI channel set to 1 on the 560 on the main menu, "MIDI", "KEYBOARD CHANNEL = 1". When I press any key on the 560 to set that key to make something happen in the DAW, it does that fine, BUT the MIDI channel is recorded 2 higher in the DAW than what is set on the 560....ie, 560 has midi channel set to 1 in the Master setting, but DAW is receiving/recording it as midi channel 3.....set 560 channel to 2, DAW records midi channel as 4, to get MIDI channel as 1 on the DAW, have to set 560 midi channel to 15......I can't find anything in the DAW that is transposing the channels up by 2. I also have a MIDI footswitch that can talk to the DAW/send commands and that's xmitting on midi channel 1, and the DAW is recording on 1, so I don't think it's a DAW issue, somehow I have something set wrong on the 560....any ideas? Also, what is "HI-Res Vel out" in MIDI settings do in the real world? Manual says just turns it on or off. Does odd things on the key off when programming into my DAW...key on programs one value, key off programs another.
  8. ahh, perfect, didn't know that and sounds like it will be exactly what I need. Thank you kindly Brad and Mike.
  9. Thanks Brad for the reply. I was thinking in these lines too but the problem is on a few reg patches I use, the keyboard is already split into 2 sounds...bass for the bottom, piano for the top. Now I don't need to use the bass sound anywhere near that lowest octave at least while playing live, do you know if there's a way to stop the sound from playing/turn off the sound in another way on those lowest keys in the bottom split given the keyboard is already split but still allow midi to be xmitted?
  10. Play the 560 live, control various loops on my DAW live via a MIDI floor switch pedal. But thinking of changing to control the DAW loops via MIDI from the 560 from the lowest 6 keys on the 560, let's call it keys A-D, MIDI A0 through D1. What's the best way to make these 6 keys silent, ie produce no internal 560 patch sound when pressed, just send a MIDI signal when the key is pressed to my DAW? Is there a global setting to make these 6 560 keyboard keys silent for all patches? Or do I have to set up something for each sound patch on the 560? What's the best/easiest way to make such a change if this is possible either way? Thanks.
  11. Darn, ok, thanks for replying Brad, that answers it then. And indeed I did notice it had a TRS plug, half pedal capabilities......I was thinking the Casio would just ignore the half pedal/the T or R piece, but apparently not so. Just to make sure I understand.....if a sustain pedal has a mono TS plug/isn't half damper and full damp, no matter if it's + or - polarity, it will work fine with the 560, correct? Looking at the Yamaha FC4 then possibility. Not looking for anything that big like an SP-33, I play out live/hauling gear and compactness is important. And even if the size wasn't an issue, I'm a hesitant to buy a sustain pedal from Casio again given my SP20 experience in what I would consider a short lifespan.
  12. Have a 560. My understanding via this forum is the 560 doesn't care what kind of damper pedal you use as it "auto detects", so buy anything, the 560 will figure it out. https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/14726-sustain-pedal-reversed/ https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/12645-pedal/&tab=comments#comment-35519 Given this info, I purchased a Korg DS-1H sustain pedal brand new, hooked it up to my 560, and no sustain. Nothing. Auto detect didn't appear to work....is there some setting I'm missing to "auto detect"? Short of the Korg pedal being bad even though it's brand new, while possible, I would say it's improbable....but if someone out there has a DS-1H working fine with their 560, then the improbable proves true. And yes, the sustain pedal that came with my 560 works perfectly. I purchased the Korg given it had a 3 year warranty and reviews said it's very reliable/lasts long. I bought the Casio SP20 and it lasted for about 1 year 4 months and it's working intermittently now and I'm looking for something more reliable. Thanks for any help/insight.
  13. Bought a 560 brand new back in early August '18. I play out professionally, indoors, outdoors, sometimes in some hot weather outdoor events, 100+, out here in the low desert of the southwest US., playing about 70-80 events a year approx as a solo player of classic pop and rock. I did have a minor issue with one key that was making a loud clicking sound within the 1st month or so of owning it and the retailer I bought it from exchanged it out for another new one and never had that issue again. Beyond that one exchange, the 560 is still going strong, holding up great. I carry it around in a Gator soft carry bag and that's working out well. I use it mostly for the acoustic and electric piano sounds, sometimes the bass, and couldn't be happier with these sounds. They cut nice in a mix or sit nicely alone when I'm just singing/playing a piano sound. I also love how light the 560 is. Used to have other keyboards that weighed close to 50lbs which was getting old hauling around to gigs and it's been so nice carrying around something that weighs about 25lbs. It makes a huge difference loading in/out of the car, loading it on my gig carry cart to wherever I'm playing, etc. Sound, reliability, excellent LCD interface, light weight, at such a nice price....couldn't be happier with my purchase.
  14. I have to agree with the OP on the overall sound quality of the acoustic piano on the 560. I'm very particular/picky about an acoustic piano sound and to me regardless of price, the 560 acoustic piano sounds as good and often better to my ears than many keyboards in the acoustic piano sound category, many costing more/far more than the 560. I really like the electric piano sounds too, top notch. I use my 560 live, playing professionally in a solo format for about 6 months now, from just my singing with the piano sound to backing tracks via my DAW and the acoustic and electric pianos sits so perfect solo or in the mix via my QSC K12 speakers/with a KSUB with drums, bass, other backing tracks, etc.
