  1. Charles, Thanks for taking the time to answer I do not use layers, but I do care about the volume settings, hence my question. Your reply is useful, however, in that I can use registrations as a second-best solution instead of saving the volume under the "power on" settings (I assume that is impossible...) Indeed the volume settings are mentioned in page E-33, for "Areas 1 to 4 only" . There are only 4 areas, so I wonder what that could mean... experimenting is our substitute for a clear manual.
  2. Anybody ? If you have a PX-350 you can easily answer...
  3. All keys have a strong knocking sound for me too. Only solution is to turn up the volume or wear headphones.
  4. Yes the PX-350 has 10 slots for (up to) 10 user songs. They are midi files and you can load them from the computer via USB cable or from a USB drive.
  5. To reply to my own question, I have learned how to connect the PX-350 to Windows 7 via USB, and I guess it does the same via Windows Explorer, so there is no longer need for additional software. Forget about IDES 4.0..
  6. I am a bit confused with the way the settings work and I would like to know if others have the same experience, or if I am missing something, or should have my keyboard checked. I have toggled the "backup" setting which should mean that settings are kept when you turn the keyboard off. The settings for touch response (which I set to 3) and the "backup" setting (which I set to "on") are stored when I switch off. However, the "volume" settings (for accompaniment etc.) go back to the defaults, and the "stretch" setting goes back to "on". I have not experimented with other settings, and the manual says that this "will save various settings..." without saying which ones. Secondary question: shouldn't the default for "stretch" be "off"? If so, even more strange that it keeps going back to "on".
  7. I am not sure what you mean by vibration sound and what is the relation with distance from a wall. Anyway, my speakers sound perfectly normal. Before I had a Casio WK 1200, which had a distinct vibration from the metallic grill over the left speaker, due to the grill being improperly attached. I disassembled the keyboard, but could not fix it, as there are no screws attaching the grill. Anyway, this is a totally different keyboard from the PX-350. As I said, I get no strange noises in the PX-350.
  8. I got my PX-350 3 weeks ago, here in Seoul for about USD 900 with cabinet and pedals. So far I am delighted with the quality. I was coming from a Casio WK-1200, which I really liked, but now I don't want to go back to it. A very different quality level... One thing I miss in my old keyboard is the design of the buttons and clear labeling of all the functions, instruments etc. And the nice graphic LCD display, which makes the LCD in the PX-350 look more like a pocket calculator. Of course it would not look very good to have an electronic "piano" with what looks like an airliner cockpit behind it. On the other hand, there are already enough buttons to destroy any clean "piano" look, and yet they are not enough for good ergonomic control, with the 2-line display and the 1-button-27-functions approach. I suppose the future will be in a tablet-like touchscreen with virtual buttons and messages, which can reconcile a clean design with ergonomics. One question for other Casio owners: I have tried to install the Caiso IDES 4.0 software, which could make it easier to manage user presets etc. than through the PX-350 spartan controls. But I ran into an install problem in Win 7 64 bits. Has anyone tried it? I am not sure it is compatible with Win 7, or even with the PX-350. The Casio site is very economic with information on IDES, it looks they have quietly abandoned it. On the other hand, it is mentioned in the PX-350 manual...
