  1. Not near my PX now but there is a way to set it to either advance or step back with a foot pedal but only to the adjacent Stage Setting...and you have to pick one way or the other. In a song where I needed to switch between two settings more than once, I just set up sequential repeats of settings. That takes up a couple extra Setting spaces but I had plenty to spare so it wasn't a problem. I'm sure someone else here can give you the exact menu setting that accomplishes this.
  2. Anyone in a band covering keys in this song with their PX-5S?
  3. Wow...rarely on this forum but happened to open it up and see your post. Here is the link.
  4. Yes Brad thanks...checked them. Did a forum search on the title as well...only one unanswered post in the XW-P1 section.
  5. Has anyone created any of the tones or a maybe even a Stage Setting for this song?
  6. Oops...see this is xw-p1 thread...will repost on PX-5s.
  7. Pushing this very old thread...has anyone created tones or a Stage Setting for Rosanna by Toto in the last five years?

Uses all four zones. Geographically, top zone is lead synth sound. Sustain pedal is controlling vibrato for this zone only. Use a slide to control portamento and another to control delay for this zone too as these vary during solo. Second zone is the pre-chorus synth sound. Third zone is the CP-30-like sound. Bottom is a few low notes of acoustic piano which you will here in the Cars recording under the "Bye Bye Love" lyrics.

  10. Well shoot...sorry Brad. That turns it on for all the stage settings. Guessing there's not a way to turn it on just for a couple of them.
  11. Sorry for all the questions. I seem to remember there was a way to use the sustain pedal to switch between adjacent stage settings. If so can someone refresh my memory as to how to do it? Thanks...
  12. Thanks for the advice everyone. I posted my work to date in the downloads. Have rehearsal Saturday so need to stop programming and start learning parts but may come back to it after as I'm not totally happy with it. Brad...the pedal idea is good...may try it for this...works great for the clav wah. I had created a stage setting for intro sound for Coldplay's Sky Full of Stars a long time ago that used the pedal to create a very slow filter sweep at my discretion....that's where it works best...when you need the sweep at your discretion at irregular intervals....especially when both of your hands are busy on the keys. Really clever feature especially in the absence of an expression pedal.
  13. Addicted to Love View File Per post in forum, working on trying to nail the synth horn SFZ sound. This stage setting has that sound plus the sound at the end of the chorus. Submitter jimmyjames Submitted 08/07/2018 Category Song Ready Stage Settings

Per post in forum, working on trying to nail the synth horn SFZ sound. This stage setting has that sound plus the sound at the end of the chorus.
  15. Thanks Brad...yes tried SFZ sound in downloads. The crescendo for the ones I tried is too slow for the RP sound and when I tried to tighten up the times it just starts to pop from level to level. I'm making some progress starting from scratch but tough to nail it across the sound...probably being too picky.
  16. I am trying to create the synth sound for Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love". The part is gently SFZ (punch to start with an almost immediate reduction in volume that then increases) and it does it in a fairly short amount of time (within a second or so). I worked with hex layer filter and amp envelopes for a couple hours last night and just couldn't come up with a way to get it to do this smoothly. Seems like as soon as I pulled in the time on the envelopes too far, the volume increase would just go from slow to suddenly popping back up. Any suggestions?
  17. Joaco, having trouble pasting the link but see a thread on this forum called CC102 where I had an exchange with Mike Martin about this issue about five year ago. Bottom line is that there is no solution except adding a product like the MIDI Solution Event Processor between your Casio and Novation.
  18. OK Brad, that worked thanks! I now froze the master EQ settings too. Now I need to figure the rest of my system out. I'm in a new band and purchased a SpaceStation so I'm trying to get back up to speed on programming settings for the songs (much less learn parts) and I'm getting frustrated with the relative levels between and within settings and then the tone I'm getting out of the SpaceStation….and of course this distortion issue which has three possible sources as I have a mixer in between the PX 5S and the SpaceStation to allow my NE4 and guitar to run into the SSV3 too. I know the SSV3 is better with a hot input so I've been trying to push the signal a bit....guess the mixer is the best place to do that. I think I'm getting to old for all these moving parts....
  19. I tried the +- thing...nothing changed. Also, I see I have compressor filter on but nothing else...just like the factory default. I guess it's the EQ causing the distortion problem. That said, is there another was to restore factory defaults for compressor and EQ if the +- isn't working? Would just like to know what the default settings are so I can start fresh...thanks.
  20. Thanks Brad...I'm guessing a Stage Setting I imported probably had the filter off and I unwittingly proliferated the problem by using that Stage Setting to build others.
  21. Having similar issues. What levels do you generally set input for master compressor and input/output for master EQ? Also, I thought these were fixed regardless of Stage Setting but it appears they are not, correct?
  22. Thanks Brad. Ideally wanted to have a couple drum sounds near the bottom and a couple near the top but did exactly what you said as a workaround and put them together near the bottom so I didn't have to go through turning off all the instruments in between.
  23. Building a Stage Setting for Robert Palmer's "Simply Irresistible". I only need a couple of the drum tones and need the rest turned off so I can work in the other synth parts. Is there a quick way to take one of the kits and turn all of the tones off or do I have to do it note-by-note? Follow up...found a work around but still curious to know if you can do this.
  24. Anyone play this song in their band and have a PX 5S stage setting for it? Quick turn around on learning a bunch a stuff and looking to spend a little less time on the programming part if possible...thanks.
