  1. Downloaded and fooling around with it because I can't sleep. Looks great! Can't seem to open files from the parameter editor without being connected to the board. Anyone get around this?
  2. Thanks, Mike! That patch sounds great. Helped me to learn the ropes of stage settings, too, as I set up the sliders to control the volume of the hex layers.
  3. Got it. Thanks. Mike. And thank you so much for the Cars tone- I just downloaded it and am about to pop it in.
  4. Thanks, willf and jimmyjames. I tried out the triangle waves and got the portamento about right, but need to tweak the envelopes. I'll definitely try the sqaure/saw wave approach too, but I'm still learning my way around the PX-5s, so that's for tonight or tomorrow. At any rate, thanks again!
  5. I wonder if anyone else has encountered this- On EP patch 46, Coupled Harpsichord, while in Stage setting 0-0, operating the s3 slider, which is assigned to attack, generates an endlessly sustaining tone. The tone persists even if you switch to another patch. It eventually decays, so I guess it's not endless, but it does persist for maybe 15-20 seconds. I had a similar problem with a PX-3 that I bought and returned when I realized the px-5s was on the way. Any thoughts?
  6. I'd like to throw in The Cars "Just What I Needed". I'm a total synth noob, so maybe this doesn't rise to the level of a song setting, but I need it for a gig so why not? On a related note, anyone care to suggest how would I put together a sound for that tune?
  7. Ok, it's definitely only happening when K4 is assigned to the high gain EQ control. Thanks guys. Looking forward to the firmware update and data editor.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Joe, I'll try assigning K4 to another parameter and see what happens.
  9. Hi All, New to the forum, and new to keys. Have a new PX-5s, and am a bit overwhelmed. I'm sure what I need is lot's of time to goof around, but I have just a couple questions. Also, I need to say that a huge part of my decision to go with the PX-5s is down to Mike Martin. That guy popped up everywhere while I was doing research, and his level of engagement is just really impressive. So if you're out there Mike, a straight line can be drawn from your efforts to my buying this product. At any rate, here's my issues: *When I operate dial k4 while playing, I hear a slight but pronounced popping in the headphones. This is across all tones, stage settings, etc. Bad pot? Should I take it back? Since I'm new to the instrument, I don't know what I should be expecting as far as tolerances. *Hex tones Synth OSC and Filter OSC seem to have lots of white noise behind them. Is that normal? * The several of the Hex EPs seem to have a pronounced key-up sound, even if the key-down tone has decayed to silence. Sounds quite strange. Is this a feature? Thanks for the help, Mike
