  1. Version 1.0

    265 downloads

A version of a bright grand piano suited for rock etc. Adjusted insert EQs, no resonances, less dynamics (velo sensitivity). Inspiring example was the Kurzweil Studio Grand Patch. Have not played it live yet but it cuts well through the mix in rehearsals.
  2. Well, I decided to not play organs with the PX5 and rather use my NE3 as top tier. Its not only the lack of expression pedal input but also soundwise as I think organs are not competitive when compared side by side with a NE3. But I just noticed the nine layer organ patch in the download section. I will give it a try later on today.
  3. Afaik, this should work seamless. PC3 can be controlled via Midi and PX5 can control Midi in almost every aspect. With almost I mean that CC numbers above 100 can cause some problems. Have read this somewhere on the iNet but dont remember where exactly. OT: I am aiming to replace my bottom board ( Kurz SP4= PC3 engine) with the PX5 . Coult not Warm up with the PC3 AP sounds at all, was playing Studio Grand and Pro Piano all the time but never connected to it. Also EPs are way beyond my taste as there is not a single clean one, its all distorted, DSPd and otherwise deformed. Playing in bands with 2+ dist guitars does not allow more dirty amped keyboard sound on top of it. So as you can compare both devices, side by side, how do you compare APs and EPs against ea. other?
  4. Well, the "very low" price argument does not strike here in europe. I pay exactly 1'500 USD for the device (1'090 EUR). Now having to add the midisolutions pedal controller for expression (plus one more power supply as midi in does not provide power) makes it 250 USD higher and levels it with the boys around Krome, P50, PCLE, MP6, MOX8 and such, which all provide CC/Exp on Pedal 2. The savings of a few cents for a tip ring sleeve jack connector at factory side has quite some leverage effect on mine :-P Unless it could be solved with a firmware update. Anyway, looking forward to put my hands and ears on it :-)
  5. Hello everyone I just ordered my PX-5s and am waiting to ship by the end of the week. Myself is a giging musician playing in two different cover bands, one pop rock blues and the other one country rock. So lots of vintage sounds and in between some synth requirements such as the Moog Solo of Davy's on the road again. Anyhow, I own(ed) lots of instruments in order to achieve a perfect sound/weight/action/schlepp-factor balance on stage, such as Rhodes MKII, Roland RD 170, FP2, FP4, FP5, VR760, Kawai MP5, MP6, Kurzweil PC3, SP4-7, SP4-8 Yamaha CP33, MOX8 and some more. We do not have many music gear retailers here in Switzerland, so I always have to order my gear "blindfold" which is what I did for the PX-5s also. Unfortunately I was assuming some standards to apply to keyboards that claim to be PRO, be it current or past, namely 2 Pedal Inputs, and to be even more precise: CC or Expression! I guess y'all know what I mean. Playing organ sounds without expression is like having a date/sxx with a roboter... Definitely not PRO at all and useless for a "one board for all" approach. Unfortunately I can not cancel my order so I'll have to arrange with this flaw. I'll wait until the board arrives and just hope that the buyers remorse effect will stand out in favor of the rest of the unit. Cheers from Switzerland Mac
