  1. @Jokeyman123 Mr Bill knows the haps too well I trust him on that 😄
  2. I've been pondering the possibility of seeing a solo synth make a return, complete with a wide array of waveforms. I've been quite content with the VL tones in the CTS1. In fact, I was even tempted to acquire the S500, which boasts adjustable VL tones as well. As an owner of a powerful PX5S, I've thoroughly enjoyed the Sin, Saw, Pulse, Tri, and noise tones. They're undoubtedly impressive. However, the solo synth's spectrum left me hungry for more. The gap I'm referring to is the absence of updates for the PX5S that could potentially introduce additional tones, albeit at the cost of altering existing patches. It's also disheartening that Casio's MZ-500 and XW seem to have disappeared from the market, which is quite a letdown. Let's hope for some exciting developments in the future!
  3. There was an attempt, So I've looked deeper into it and was quite startled specifically not about the sound to produce which I have to add is minimal at best. The best and simplest comparison would be a diatonic melodeon as a source trying to do this which I did. But then came the playing style for the notes couldn't comprehend that at all and how to key map to come even close to playing, First there must be a dry tune of either one-tone unisonoric or two tones bisonoric. And bellow the sound of the tones means to expand and contract it , I thought well if we use a velocity to switch between two sounds and use key release too bellow The sound by high velocity press to expand and low soft velocity press to contract this , or the other way around dunno quite messy. But technically some call it Upper and Lower dividing both contract and expand. And wanting to use amp on a tone to make it sound like that right if you know what I mean ?. this the complicated way I came up with using hexlayer which is the primary method in this whole post. The other was to bellow the sound on two different octaves, So that expand has its sound mapped on two octaves and contract has its sound mapped to two octave based on the playing style like left hand to expand and right hand to contract , But having never played such an instrument that could be a hassle 😄. Made quiet a mess for an attempt hahaha. I'm not worried about the sound of the tone to produce but how to accurately map it to the keys to make it playable for anyone. and there this thing which is called reversal and accidental. Lease to say this is more than I can chew and probably for the current hexlayer model as well thinking this out , I imagine samples as you've suggested and more then two hexlayer or functions on our current keyboards , an instrument like concertina I think is more for an arranger as well that can handle a one row instrument with the peculiarity to play scale , I wish I could help you guys out I'll stick with making techno sounds and stuff XW-Addict out 😅
  4. Wouldn't mind replacement parts though even once on a blue moon.
  5. Maybe we could try using sampling and A.I to form a generative sound based on this specific instrument, It's a thing nowadays right LOL.
  6. This post piqued my interest, I Googled what Spike Jones used for his repertoire. I have to say most electronic instruments do not have said comical sounds, most. The concertina/hornpipe is an instrument that could be replicable with hexlayer synthesis but requires expression peddle, I couldn't cause my pitch hearing isn't that accurate. Let alone how to apply playing it on weighted key's. How to play it would be like a deal-breaker cause what a good concertina to play like long and staccato notes , ornaments and swells. would a switch button be needed? or uninterrupted stage switching some sort.
  7. Sounds awesome, wish I had the patience to use daws.
  8. Version 1.0.0

    10 downloads

PX5S is practically my go-to keyboard to make music learning to create songs Its what comes up in me I create on it and momentarily cant demo them individually would be too much work, on converting I'll ad per bank an mp3 of how I play them (later), Try all the banks there are a few patches in there which are really fun. Did however make all of the stages with my headphone so some stages can be a bit off. This Zall will change over time. I like all of them but have my favorites as well, Most are Tracks or Loops as you call it. Make sure to safe / backup your own stages , This is an ALL file it'll rewrite everything For reasons unknown please be careful with pd1 on stage 8.2 / 8.3 / 8.4 / 8.5 somehow it plays GM applause.
  9. This one got me good , Was editing stages and stored a lot of changes. Went through them one by one and noticed one of my creations disappeared and strangely got replaced by the original patch on location 1.8 Quiver , Didn't think twice and stored everything with in an all file for good measure, which I've should done before but this made me think did I hit a storage limit .
  10. Did a few recordings this weekend on the PX5S I'm still amazed by this instrument.
  11. I was playing with some sound in Hexlayer and got something nice out. This makes me think if some assigned function could cross for other sounds so, While playing and phrase recording hex layers there was something I was thinking that is only there for drum kit , This is on all drum parts for keyboards with an edit function to drum parts. So this also known as non-polyphonic assigns note of mode and and assign a group or which group the current keyboard should be placed in. It would be awesome to have this for Hexlayers in the near future as well or if possible to implement this. As it's a versatile method to knock notes off when they get assigned to a single key.
  12. Does anyone know something or hint Casio-related its been awfully quiet, maybe a new soft synth or hardware (except for Behringer cz of course) I'm dying to know.
  13. A bit of a side note , I've programmed the 'Not In Love" patch in the CT-S1 it was hilarious and easy the aah sound kinda did it not so much perfectly but it was clearly there, with the sustain function bit of volume for layer enabled and virtual sound expansion played a whole afternoon with it.
  14. I want to apply this process as hexlayer but i'm lost with the harmony , panning and trigger to duplicate that. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxHtfioK2sRGNqW2LwDHk_Q-01ojaDaKHF
  15. Wow but I imagine with a few additions of their own.
  16. Yes also that and appears power going from the main power board to the other ones that one was curious, it might be a crack also somewhere I could check that as well. But chances are that the firmware somehow got botched might as well. It's a curious synth board from everything I've encountered. This fires me up some more cause I want to play with the sample looper and solo synth , Guys I'm totally fired up now haha.
  17. @ChasI've pulled it apart now lol , It's pretty much too keyboard heaven. I've cleaned the rubber switches, shorted two test solders for booting, measured the wires for the mainboard, checked capacitors, and talked sweet words to it, but still no go.
  18. Nah doesn't power up at all. Even put batteries in it too be sure.
  19. Probably the main PCB for power, I'm clueless about how it stopped doing something, The power adapter is very sturdy and applies the DC. Its like a fuse shorted but smd fuses are hard to spot. Unless another replacement is available it's a display item now.
  20. My XW-G1 recently doesn't function anymore it's kind of sad cause it gave me many joys 😢 I had the chance to buy a used one but it was gone before I knew it and this keyboard is hard to find for a long while now. Can't get it fixed anymore the PCB parts are discontinued.
  21. I'm subscribed to Casio Gear and other sites, Was curious how the contest for the CT-S1000V ended, Somehow I'm not getting any updates about events or they get drowned away, I've given up on some platform as the change they are in doesn't reflect what my interest is. Well I'm glad a link was provided with the Namm video and the winner of the CT-s1000v which was well deserved I had the feeling she did it all on the keyboard, some of the other contestants where pretty darn good though especially the one with animation. I'm also glad Casio Japan finally chip in with what the new technology means for music creation explaining this technology as well, I was sure hoping for some glimmer of the high-end WK or Synth been quiet for almost five years.
  22. If its there layer GPno Mellow with Elec piano 3 , However this what I got on my PX5S , Slightly edit release and upped the brightness Ep 3.
  23. I've returned two stage's on PX5S jamming it out with two versions inspired by my favorite band LCD-Soundsystem This electronic genre , sounds better on headphones but I manage that it also sounds good on speakers, I had to edit LCDelektroSinas for some clicks with audacity the rest straight out of the PX5S.
