  1. I had an OMG moment while playing with chatGPT , So chatGPT is an chat bot made by Open.ai one of the many advanced a.i out there you can ask it anything really anything from coding to science to poetry whatever can be think off. Is it accurate well somewhat its still in development but far ahead for us commoners to make use of it, what only would have been for enterprise business. I ask it how was queen solo riff for "I want to break free" made , It said a DX7 patch made by Freddy Mercury layered several times and played in the studio. Then I said how can i make it on the PX5S , It knows the PX5S guys and it wasn't connect for that information directly from the internet. But it gave some action of approach to do it , I was like woaw . Is this the future if chatGPT learn everything about midi implementation , tutorial and manual and synth setting it can assist creating patches to nearly mimic any sound as well. Would that be awesome Holy moly this is some futuristic stuff. There a new revolution working and its going at light speed. Look how they can animate non existing material with stable diffusion an a.i that can creat art , make movies with it let it seem so real one would believe what they see. If chatGPT learns sounds just by knowing how filters oscillator and envelopes work with given waves Woow hold your horses music will change forever again. Rasberry Pi's. i've read that the other brand is using rasberry pi's to power theyr'e synth , This blows me away cause i thought those things couldn't handle that. It shouldn't be a suprise seeing the changes in the chip world but still these little electronic computers pack allot of horsepower to handle complex sounds , synthesize and segquencing , I'm glad with such advancement and wow as well how its going. And these synth are on the market already with features build in that could only be done with lots of computer power. The way it looks the coming decade will be chuck full of development for music again.
  2. The latest casio SA review I saw was here on the forum from Chas , What to say that isn't already said about them but the more you look into them , at least to me its becoming a cult thing, I mean who is into these little keyboards unles starters or enthusiast who seek little pleasures in them. but the SA holds little suprises unoticed unless your into them like "Chas" does :=)) Casio released the SA 50 and 51 a while back this mean the 46 hits the road. There allot going on in the newer SA which impress allot but hold your horses The SA 46 a gem in its own right has several version each with unique sounds I'm not going to write a lenghty post about both the new and old SA. It seems there are two versions of the SA 46 a 2015 version and the latest both having a few different sounds nside, Why is that so exciting well I love that there always a history that follows the story behind a keyboard ask Cyberyogi , Chass or Jokeyman I like reading about their knowhow and stuff. Specially for interest reason I like to own one so now i'm seeking specifically for the SA 46 2015 version, (P.S) i've found myself a CTK 900 ZPI sound engine and its interresting sound library, there are sounds in there my other casio never heard off. I have to admit I don't need it but looks darn fun how the SA 50 sounds might start a long conversation if this still AL or Aix sound engine. Here a review SA-46 Here a review SA-50 very exciting stuff.
  3. Synth editable section similar to the PX/Hexlayer and a software editor like the XW. But definitaly not CT= specific there are edit limitation with the CT its a more out of the box and play the CT is nice portable good pro entry keyboard with good sounds now but its nothing like the WK , MZ and PX deep editing and modulation capability. Those you want.
  4. It would be handy if song mode had a direct zone select in its menu A panel turning it on and off takes over whatever is on zone 1 2 3 and 4 that way you don't have to manually set midi channel or the tone And because its a phrase sequencer it would be handy to have a button to select from which zone to record from while zone 1 is standard channel to do it from this way you don't have to back and forth much.
  5. I've interpretted that wrongly and hastly from this My bad guys accidently stirred things up 😅
  6. I'm guessing both PX-S6000 and PX-S7000 have same engine with something more or less. Two layers , Wide variety of chained DSP (which impresses me) But how many sounds can have dsp at once 2 or 4. a single arpeggio is this programmable. Are the pedals programmable. How many of your own sound set can be stored and recalled if you go on stage with it. If this can be answered there might be some of a successor hidden in these board.
  7. Can't wait to see as of why the PX-s7000 could be seen as px-5s replacement as been stated 😈
  8. I got interested in the system effects of the PX-S series since that seem to differ much from the PX-360 / 560 /5S and named differently as "Sound mode effect" The PX-5S which I got has system and master effects which add flanger , chorus , delay , Eq and distortion PX-5S as well 360 / 560 add saturation to the sound on end I just MSFX , I've read in the manual the PX-S series have only sound mode for hall sim , reverb and surround. So if its correct only PX with system and master have these saturation capabilities at the end scope of the total sound. I presume the PX-S5000/6000/7000 have thus sound mode effect only as well so far I know "manuals not available at the moment" . But they do have chained DSP for tones and surround. Meaning each sound can be individual be saturated from the chain. That different at scope end and not matter much for the purpose of 2 layered sound. That about the difference in MFX in my perspective for zoned PX and the PX - S series. for programming a full round sound. I'm posting about this cause I've learned and somewhat misused system and master effect for that saturated full sound as an end mix, It works pretty well I say.
  9. Introduced with the latest Cts and Px there is also Casio music space. Casio music space app is worth to look at , I've downloaded it a time ago for ios and android. There a lot in there I have not given it much time but recently I've took a look at it and can say its really practicing focused , It support all latest keyboards/piano. Since I've got my piano lessons years ago I can vouch that the app is fit for practicing the setup for that is recognizable from a beginner point of view. There a nice part where you have this scroll down bars to each key's and a view with the notes on top which is super handy to do side reading with notes. I knew there was more to Casio's focus to a piano centric approach anything to great for lessons , great feeling key's , accurate feed of speaker sound , high quality piano sounds. great for stage and now the harmony experience. I hope for the near future the synth and arranger people get this dedication as well , as it is already there with CTS and the MZ and PX360/560.
  10. Yet again I'm getting jealous about something another piano has I mean "Best Hit" Category. I'm crying here. First the cts - s1000v now this. Raaah i'm being teared apart.
  11. Great to look at for that I'm sure off it Until I saw how much their priced. Someone make me believe these piano's are real. Really not just design and good sound for that price the possibility to model a piano into a vintage one sure must be there.
  12. Except the camera you weren't far off 😄 The colors are certainly nice I love the wood engrained in the model looks cozy. I rather would see the wood with the casiotone but it makes the high end keyboard look stylish better. Somehow when I saw PX-S7000 I thought this is it but surely if it would be synth I guess it would have been something like PX-7S the difference of the -S- before the number and after. I like the mustard and wood color though. As well the seats and stands always wanted wood type like so it breaths natural vibe and harmony taking the music to places.
  13. A better file management system that stores what you put in a stage and recalls it exactly as is. A Phrase should be part of a stage even after its changed.
  14. I wonder if the way this new Privia is presented is part of the mystery for this theme "Harmony" and "Life style" I can't figure it out. When I think about piano and life style I think about LaLa land or Casablanca play it again sam any sound a piano can make that belongs to a style of music from a place. Its sounds weird how I'm saying it but I'm quiet the romantic person if its about piano music and atmosphere I'm burning to learn Erroll Garner "Penthouse serenade". One day i'm gonna make a piano piece that says "Yes this is me".
  15. Indeed 3 new ones I mean , How much more piano can it get , has it something to do with the recent App changes as well for the functionality in the latest and new models. Plus knobs and other controls are very much reduced.
  16. Curious the latest Privia models aren't that old , Website shows there are three privia's starting tomorrow with the first one. What could it be. My enthusiasm has tempered to know but still I want to know ;-). https://www.casio.com/intl/electronic-musical-instruments/privia/harmony/
  17. PX5S FM tones are samples but they are not ordinary samples , As most of you PX5S owners know the samples on the keyboard are quiet extraordinary And it has to be similar for the PX560 and probably for the MZ X500 as well. PX Air samples are different because some have an extra addition of resonance and other filter like behavior. Each tone catagory has a specific depth to its tone, Which can be synthesize or modulate for piano , clav , bass or E.P's I'll focus on the FM tones only because of the FM-ish synthesis kind of type it can do. Basically the keyboard built for making sought for clav or E.P sounds. But with an incredible synth engine and DSP such like Ring modulator which gives sound also an FM-ish kind of sound. We have a keyboard with samples having filter etc on them and a ring modulator tone and hexlayer as well to me that a basic FM-ish setup to work with love to go in depth but I'm not so proficient at it for now :--) , I experiment away and discover. Still it is interesting because from a synthesis kind of view the keyboard can mangle the samples in an FM-ish way cause the sample got some kind of spectrum in them. Hexlayer synthesis got quiet a depth to it to make the FM samples tones nearly sound as it would with operators but its done with filters. Maybe this doesn't sound correct than again viewing it from this perspective those tone have filter spectrum on them which can be modulated which creates a faux versatile FM-ish engine at hand. The EP on the PX sound more than nice right. There are several tones in the EP and Hexlayer category that apply to the idea you can do FM-ish synthesis I will make a list which one and that is the beautiful part we got two categories on the keyboard providing them. It takes a bit of experimentation using tone , hexlayer and ring modulator and system effects as well to make clang swirling FM-ish sounds. Some of the stuff I've been experimenting on I've learned watching Matt Johnson from Jamiroquai he's been on Youtube quiet some time sharing his knowledge its really awesome, One of the reason I've been looking if the PX5S can have those sounds and it can I'll demo some sounds soon cause some of the techniques apply to other tone samples as well. I'll keep this thread up to date.
  18. Buttons -10 and +10 are for scrolling through recorded wav files . The PX5S records from each Take 01 to 99. If you recorded an audio file and the Audio recorder led is lit. Pressing the start/stop next to the phrase button can be pressed to play the file. Use -10 and +10 to play other take files.
  19. There are four ways to do it. 1 : Play a rhythm from a wav file 2 : Play a Afro Cuban from midi file 3: Create a song with song mode. (importing midi patterns with the app or manually record them) 4: Use zone one for a drum only Afro Cuban rhythm either directly from a stage or a pattern by using phrase sequencer .
  20. People posting good sounding music I couldn't stay silent nor behind So here some of the full PX5S stages no overdub recording these are how the stages fully sound no edits, I learned I could stack drum with phrase recorder on some and also create a "Performance" with phrase recorder and song mode , I kind of went crazy trying to keep the rhythm and sound smooth and thigh. Some sounds at my skills still in infancy mode compared to some of the sound in the download section which are master pieces. Enjoy my little stage snippet collage. P.S I had many more stages to add but these shorts already took 18MB it would be twice as big if these for now are bearable I'll upload part 2 lol , part 2 is coming. PX5S Stage Collage.mp3

This happy accident is a bird tone which can be heard only with arpeggio. The tone file says - Arp On - the arp should be in the stage file. Only playing this stage is acquired with arp on. "How this happened" I figured its arpeggio with groove on 10% and quarter note . And something with the sliders and the tone i've edited But important part it sounds like robin birds. Sample file added. Birds.mp3

PX5S sounds are not just a tone sound they are very deep and broad sounding like stereo , mono , resonant and such , Listening with headphones you can't hear much precisely if there a lot going like delay , reverb or eq. So one day I made a phrase just noodling around something classic /cultural. Which I've played slowly in the phrase recorder and upped it at tempo 60 when played back. Started to play it with every sound from every category I liked it so much cause I could hear the versatility off every tone. I though why not back this up on the forum and share it as well. It may not be to your liking as audition but skim to all the tones with it through the phrase recorder and notice why. So here my Audition Phrase to listen to hear aspect of a tone you might not always pay attention to. Standard Tempo is 120 which is not preferred (definitely not) Tempo = 60 ,

  24. Went to the music store to try out the CT-S1000 and S500, My oh my. To phrase Greta "How dare you" really I'm confused by this the sounds where really phenomenal out of the box, And all inspiring I got a little bit sad it was to good as well I'm not going to buy it. This is it I'm telling you guys if this not the sounds for the next workstation performance synth I'm going to say goodbye to Casio you'll see me return when I'm 65 or so.
