  1. The first has bottom and top of its spectrum, its sounds like a piano standing firm on its place and resonating while played absorbing its surrounding. The second bright colorful wide spectrum but no bottom the sound surfaces up in a cheerful way made to sound for specific room types. The second reminds me of piano sounds mostly sough in Blues, Country Worship music, The first is so typical piano lend themselves to their surrounding which emit their brightness/dullness/resonance its never quiet there this one sounds like that.
  2. If I would and could put out the differences having two PX5S I would have ,Since I've gotten my PX5S with 1.10 I've been sticking with 1.10 and jumped to 1.13 with full confidence. I could do it from 1.12 and lay out where the sound difference out. Doing that means recording any sound and go over to install 1.13 and stay with it because I'm a type of person very unsure with updates doing something wrong that would lead me off from using my PX5S for a while. 1.13 sounds thin the bottom in some stages are out and there is a ringing sound half way from middle C with some stages. In short I miss the low vibrant bass thing from ambient sounds.
  3. Actually there are quiet some android stuff available mostly stuff to specific brands that annoying with android. There is an app n-track as one of the many app available with gets the "?" from me as but will it work mark on it. I'm rooting for Android-L as Google finally does "something" hope they will improve on its audio feature for low latency and good audio playback keep an eye on that particular android version.
  4. I can't say if you either have P1 or G1, Can say that slider information is not recorded on the G1 through Phrase recorder the sliders are step-sequence/solo synth specific. I don't think the Phrase recorder is neither that advanced would be awesome to do motion recording for samples based on that i'm currently having some experimenting with Sseq controls for motion on samples because the sliders can copy one channel to the other in real time.... have not figure that out. could be an idea tho CC motion recording for phrases.
  5. Well most Europeans have either floppy or Spok like ears XD. A needle in a hay stack is an European specialty but I'm still sticking to 1.12 piano parts is excellent need more practice time.
  6. Oh my wish to hear how that sounds like not to boast or brawl but PX5S And XW make both good as a workstation together, off course each instrument has its own perks to match ).
  7. Ah you want to turn the arpeggio generation off with sysex message. Here the site with PX5S midi-implementation http://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/008/PX5_midi_EN.pdf Sysex starts on page 29 , arpeggio/phrase specific from page 53,61. Although I cant myself find any specific on/off value/parameters, Maybe there a way switching with CC ,I'm noobish at this level about this stuff.
  8. Think we need some patience ,I believe Casio engineers working to resolve things and to make improvements I don't think its that easy remember where on 1.13 its pretty awesome so far. btw Mau Van aren't u a bit spooked to switch updates back and forth as you're saying to do it and I quote "Often"?.
  9. Can any foot switch be used on the PX5?
  10. There are a few books on recommendation I've seen on Stephen Kay site, I've got to do some reading about sysex and such myself and I guessed well this guy had to got it from somewhere from what he have build himself. three of these books are The midi manual third edition, a pratical guide of midi in the project studio by David Miles Huber Midi Power the comprehensive guide. by Robert Guerin The Midi Companion, by Jeff Rona I don't know if it would help but it could get you somewhere.
  11. But You've forgot to mention what Ruddes does there is ''only'' possible on the XW-G1 "In Full" tried it. And from what I've discover some stages can do it also on the PX5S with update 1.13 but a few selected only have not delved into that much while on that update but certain tones can overlap from stages to stages while switching. Probably not all of them tho could be because of the effects and envelope switching and such but doable. Switching would need multiple NRPN message me thinks seems complicated plus some sysex at it well If any does NRPN switching with a pedal on the PX5S please share
  12. Ooh I'm so curious how both will sound you will give us something to hear right
  13. If it is the P or G you're looking for well. I would go for the G1 because of the sampling you can add more sounds like drums and sound effects. Plus if you're in to drum programming the G1 provides a bigger set of drums then the P1. If you like to switch performances the G1 can do that on the fly. On the other side the P1 gives you a bigger set to create accompanied pieces with the Sseq which is a bit more expanded then the G1 I sometimes find my limits here when I want more chords to program and the P1 hexlayer can give extra on soundscape specially the better tones can give a what symphonic plane to play with. Pick what you would like but. BTW.. JOIN the G1 SIDE FOR UNLIMITED POWER just kidding.
  14. Heya fellow keyboard users I've Noodled ( Gary ) something together on my sunday night jamming/programming session this time i've used another stage setting PX Dancer on the PX5S and edited a Sseq patch I was working on for something else when you're going at it inspiration doesn't hold its self back I've done a few session could not get it better its sunday night could be the whine partly going through the song making it a bit off. XD You've got to love the ambient swells of the PX5S its really something aaaaaaah. I'm also working on a symphonic piece with both keyboards did something that sounded really awesome but its to garbled now to hear I'm missing melody. I"m going to make the Sseq from the G1 available soon once I've done some editing a few things I want to master programming the controls. 15. David what is the Bpm of this its hard core for sure.
  16. The nine banks can be used at once either use them as one shot , loops or instruments bank you can also layer them in performance mode however you like or assign them to key's for live triggering. However its not possible to swap banks fast from the sd-card *( :| that would be awesome but there are ways to compensate that its a matter of workflow. What you can do is create a sample instrument where you sample from C1 to C2 key's you're bass and from C3 to C5 keys ur saxophone samples that way you can do that for each sample bank to create you're versatile style and use switching to the required instrument by programming that with multi-key in performance menu. That way you can live switch to another bank without interrupting you're play. You can also use the G1 editor to setup you're own samples and upload them to the G1 it requires some learning curve here. If you want I can beat up a demo and performance patch for you to see how, There are also performance patches that already do that which you can use as templates. Such as: "Club Set 1 & 2" show on the far right side of the display the multi-key switching. "Party Mix" (P:8-2) performance shows how you can switch to other performances while you're live playing. "Multi DSP" shows how you can switch different DSP effects live. "!Voice !Voice" (U:0-2) shows triggering how to trigger one shots and loop samples.
  17. I went directly from 1.10 to 1.13 the only comparison I've got is from the last One Song thing I did, maybe you're right and is it an EQ thing because I'm getting lots of high when I go up the keys and I'm also missing the nicer fat and warm lows from stages. But there is also an high pitched ringing sound to some stages which is an annoying bell like frequency and some older stages have this out of tune bit I've noticed it with wonderland stage.
  18. I've also did the same thing some stages got a broken record kinda tune similar thin sound sharp and without deepness.
  19. Ring ring hello I don't know if you've noticed being one step closer to a potential career, Key rule with opportunity's on these kind of music software are if you have fun doing it, It will be a career on itself don't force it let it gradually happen. You've done a good start as a stepping stone, if someone build a virtual CZ plugin heck why not kicking a step sequence app as long you have fun doing it on you're own time.
  20. gotten a bit dubious about this update a part of it sounds great another part gives me a "meh" kinda feeling I went back to 1.12 because some stages sounded to high pitches and ringing sounds like the resonance is cranked up way to much. Got other concerns also cause everything "seems" fine on middle C at higher octave sounds breaking up.....:. I'll sit this one out.
  21. This update had me eyeballing and had to sleep a night over this to try it the next morning. The sound engine has become to good I don't know how to explain it the PX5 sounds so different I thought this cant be something must be broken in the update it will be getting used to it I've played with the knew stages a bit more, Lets say I'm getting down with the funk. I'm sorry for the keyboardish comment kinda stupid mistake from me I've hooked the G1 on the PX5 and the sounds blended together I'm only human. Don't know very much yet about the PX5 butt I saw several new tones in it that is awesome.
