  1. Brad, thanks for the links. The point I was trying to make is that one should not have to sit and watch videos to learn how to work a keyboard that comes with a manual. I have 4 other keyboards and their manuals were so much easier to understand. When there was a function I didn't understand or didn't know how to perform, I could simply look in the table of contents, find the corresponding page and follow the steps without being referred to another page. dc2k, thank you very much for your detailed steps; it is very much appreciated. Casio should copy that and put it right in the manual. If those kind of instructions were in the manual, I wouldn't be typing this. In all reality, I'm sure Mike Martin has enough on his plate. I'm pretty certain that the videos he did/does is a result of the fact that the manual is vague. I'm well aware that manuals are written by engineers who create the software/hardware, but along the way, add a couple of pages to the manual and cover the functions exactly like dc2k did...concise, direct and explicit. Printing "Use button #12 and button #16" to perform this function, which causes I or anyone else to have to constantly refer to the diagram of the keyboard which contains 56 different buttons/dials/jacks, etc. It seems to me, it would be so much more user friendly to say what dc2k did.
  2. Can somebody spell out in simple english without referring me to the manual how to modify and save stage settings on the PX5S? I simply want to be able to select a tone, modify it as needed and save it for stage recall. Time in between songs is taking too long and it's mostly because of me. Please don't refer me to the manual, I beg of you. I find the manual almost as frustrating as putting together a room full of Ikea furniture. Just the simple steps would be great. The manual continually refers you to "See ______" If you dedicate a topic session to something, it should not refer you to another section of the manual. Almost as much time was probably dedicated to printing "See ______" as it could have been to simply list the steps. This is supposed to be a very friendly stage piano, but there is a section as to how to recall a stage setting, but nothing specific as to how to simply create one. Thanks in advance

  4. This is probably a double post, but I am looking for anyone who would like to create the synthesizer arpeggio heard it Tuff Enuf by the Fabulous Thunderbirds. I have tried but have not been able to recreate it. If someone can or would be willing to give it a shot, it would be much appreciated.
  5. I have been trying to recreate the synth arpeggiator that plays in the background of Tuff Enuff by the Fabulous Thunderbirds without much success. I know there are those out there in our community that love a challenge. If anybody can pull that off, I would be eternally grateful. If you are able and want to hit me up with a message that would be great. I try to check back regularly, but don't get to as I have a ton of ton of things going on right at the moment. Thanks.
  6. Lars...yeah I am using my Yamaha pedal. Nothing wrong with the Casio pedal, but as you read above, I have a specific reason for using the FC4. It works quite well.
  7. Jas....glad I'm not the only one. I did a quick test the other day since my ipad was right near me. I pulled up garageband and selected the audio recorder. I set the pad down near my amp and ran through the stage settings I have including that organ and the difference was very obvious. That organ stage setting peaked that meter. I was thinking that maybe I could set up different stage settings with each of the drawbar variations and set the volume level so that each one would peak out at the same level (if that's possible). I guess there's only one way to find out. I'm definitely going to check out that Master as well. Initially this keyboard threw me a bit of a learning curve, but a couple of people gave me specific instructions to do a few things and that helped a lot. I'm hoping the volume pedal can also help. That Boss pedal is exactly the one I had in mind. I'm gonna get that ordered up so it gets here this week. I'll let you know how it goes.
  8. Although the majority of the stage settings seem to be close in volume, there are some that really jump off the keyboard, for instance one in particular 9Draw Org6. Do I need to edit each of these punchier sounds to reduce the volume to match the other organ/stage settings or is there a compression feature that will limit the overall volume? Using several organ tones, I have set the sustain pedal to activate the rotary feature and it works nicely with the sustain acting as an on/off for that feature. I also can crank up the overdrive as necessary. I have saved these as stage settings. Also, I want to run the PX5 through a stereo volume pedal for overall volume control. I am assuming the PX5 will work with the stereo pedal for that purpose? I would like to make up a pedal board with two sustain pedals and two volume pedals (one set for each of my keyboards). In regard to the beginning of my post, I would like to know that I can set a limit on the volume of each setting, so that when I crank the volume pedal, I don't have to worry about uneven volume. I have nerve damage to my right leg which makes it more difficult for gentle persuasion of a volume/sustain pedal. I switched out the sustain pedal of the PX5 immediately as I can't "feel" it when sustaining. I use a Yamaha FC4 and play with the pedal almost directly under me and use my heel. If a volume pedal can be used, any particular model recommendations? I'm partial to the Boss FV-500L for its adjustable feel and I have a bunch of Boss stuff and just like the quality of the brand.
  9. There were only certain organs that I had intended to add the rotary effect to. I already had downloaded the Drawbar Stage Setting and have it loaded up and ready to be played around with. Too bad I couldn't download Tony Monaco's talent along with it. Lot's of great technique in that video and on his site.
  10. Brad...first off, my sincere condolences on the death of your father. I certainly never expected you to take time away from your mother to answer my question. Family should always come first. Thank you for being specific as to the steps necessary to apply the rotary effect to any sound. That is precisely what I was looking for, understanding what was modified to create that effect. I can now closely examine that overdrivOrg2 setting and see where those parameters are set and use that as a starting point in modifying the other organ sounds. I had mentioned that I was trying to move my current keyboard out and have this be my go to stage board and was in a bit of a time crunch. I will certainly have time later to experiment with the keyboard and create many different stage settings that I can use.
  11. Scott....thank you for being specific. It is much appreciated Brad had indicated to me that the U: was a designation for user tones. I did not want to change out tones, merely to add to what existed. That part I absolutely understand. My specific question that I have posted on these forums twice and on Facebook once is this: Is it possible to add a rotating speaker (Leslie) effect to any organ sound that exists on the keyboard and if so how is that done? As a for instance, in the organ tone bank overdrivOrg1 does not have the rotating speaker effect, while the very next tone overdrivOrg2 does. Is there a definitive parameter or value that controls that effect and if so can anybody tell me what that is?
  12. My approach was not designed to bang my head against the wall. I read many reviews of this keyboard, watched numerous videos on YouTube, and made my decision to buy it based on those videos and several posters and reviewers who said that the people on the forums and Facebook can help and are more than willing to help with any issue. I have watched Mike's live chat videos, but he obviously can't cover every function of this keyboard. I am certainly not asking anybody to do the work for me, merely to explain how it's done; i.e. Hit edit>?>?>? and modify whatever parameters need to be modified. If it can't be done, then if someone will step up and say so, then I can find a work around. By someone explaining how it's done, I will be able to follow those instructions and will then understand and learn how to modify other parameters along the way. I'm trying to move my MOX8 out of the way and make this my go to board. So again I ask politely for help from anyone who can and will answer my question and point me where I need to go.
  13. Hey I am seeking help from anybody who is willing to offer. I am trying to get a handle on this keyboard but it is a slow go so far. This is what I would like to be able to achieve (at least for now) 1. Have one bank in the stage settings (let's say Bank 0) be selected organ sounds and have each of those or maybe 7 out of the 10 be able to have the Leslie setting. So bank 0-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 various organs. 2. Have each of the first stage setting in banks 1-9 be a different sound (EP, Clav. blues harp, etc) that I would use on stage each night. That way I can make it simple to select stuff on the fly quickly. So Bank 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 etc. Is there a way to simply get the stage settings to "switch locations" rather than replacing one for another? I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me. I don't have any idea how or what to modify. I don't like banging my head against a wall trying to figure things out. If I can get the basics to get me going, that would work. I play in a Blues/Blues Rock band, so for now, just the basics will do. I can experiment on my own later. I don't want to go buy a RotoChoir, or an RT-20 or MiniVent or such if I don't have to, but I want that type of control. Is it possible and can anybody explain how to do it. I've been told to post my issues here so everyone can benefit. So, here it is. Who's going to ride in on the white horse and save the day? Thanks.

This is mainly for Mike Martin as he is the man, but what is the possibility of having someone take the three instructional videos on the PX5S and chop them up into the various subjects you cover and then put them on a separate page. That way if some of the newer members like myself are looking for a specific function, we can just view a 1-2 min segment covering that subject. If you want to elaborate more on those (like I'm sure you have tons of spare time, lol) that would be cool as well. It could be Video FAQ's. Just a thought
  15. This should have been included before the post above. I received your response and I am in the editor under melody tones. Mike's tones are on the left and on the right is PNO:U:20 GrnPnoConcert 20-39 and then it begins AiR E. Piano1 etc. which I can figure corresponds to the tone bank. I don't want to replace any of the existing tones, merely to add Mike's update. I realize from the screen on the keyboard that there seems to be room to add many "User Tones" but as I drag it over it asks if I want to replace the existing tone, and of course I don't so....
