  1. Thanks folks so much for this input! God Bless Carl
  2. Okay - actually - one more question... could I use a volume pedal to control the volume of Zone 1 ? and I if so, how do I do that? Right now I have a foot pedal connected to the pedal 2 input which I use on a completely different stage setting for individual sustain of Zone 2. If I plug a volume pedal in pedal 2 jack, I lose the sustain pedal type of function I assume Is there some kind of pedal assembly I can use that will give me both volume and sustain options on pedal input 2 THANKS, Carl
  3. placed the 5s in Zone 1 for Hex Layer and went into Common Edit Accssed Knob 4 and set it to CC7 as directed But this also sets all the other Zones to CC7 I suppose that is the purpose of Common Edit? but I don't see how to access Knob 4 any other way Q: What am I doing wrong?
  4. Ebonivor - thanks, but could use a futher assist.
  5. Hi - my name is Carl Love the 5S Question: I am altering Factory Preset 07 called "Ice Castles" All Zones are "on" ZONE 1 Hex layer that was originally programmed for this patch It has 6 layers mapped to the 6 sliders ZONE 2- is "Piano Pad" ZONE 3 - Grand Piano 00 ZONE 4 - Air Electric Piano QUESTION: I want to assign the overall volume of the hex layer to knob 4 while at the same time being able to retain individual control over the hex layers with the sliders Can I do that? If so, how? THANK YOU!
  6. Thank you! That did it - I have been a performing musician all my life and a conductor, but have done almost nothing with midi, so I don't know simple things like this! Thanks Again, God Bless
  7. Hi Brad - I just installed the firmware update so I am starting over with editing i have altered the patch entitled "illuminated" - # 0-3 I assigned a breathy tenor sax to the top register on Zone 4 - top 2 octaves only Turned off Pedal 1 Damper for Zone 4 Changed the note range for Zones 1-2-3 to be off for top 2 octaves, so the sax will speak alone PROBLEM Pedal 1 now provides Damper for Zones 1-2-3 - great I want Pedal 2 to control separate damper for Sax on Zone 4 When I assign Pedal 2 to CC 64 Hold, and play a note and press Pedal 2, it sustains and will not stop - pedal 2 has no further effect - any note on Zone 4 that i add also sustains indefinitely and will not stop WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN Can I not have pedal 1 do damper function for Zones 1-2-3 (with Pedal 1 turned off to Zone 4) and at the same time have pedal 2 provide damper function for Zone 4? thanks for your help and God Bless
  8. Thanks Bread - that is really helpful I assigned the filter cutoff to pedal 2, and that works perfectly, allowing me to have the wa on zone 1 BUT DAMPER PEDAL PROLEM REMAINS i went into each of the 4 zones common edit, and made sure Pedal 1 target is "CC64 Hold" - but there is still no sustain on any zone any idea why?
  9. Hi folks - my name is Carl Love my PX5S Problem: I was creating my own stage setting based on factory preset 1-4, which featured Clav with wa effect using pedal 1 Zone 1 - factory set clav with Wa-wa ( changed key range to eliminate top keys ) I added: Zone 2 - Clavi 4 ( changed key range to eliminate top keys ) Zone 3 - Air Piano 1 Zone 4 - Syn Brass 1 - assigned to high keys only with octave lowered during edit i noticed that the Zone 1 pedal setting was having a bad effect on the Zone 3 piano... notes wouldn't speak on the piano, probably affected by the cutoff, but I decided to save anyway. After saving, the wa effect on Zone 1 disappeared. I recreated it When I saved that edit, damper effect disappeared from all zones. I went to common edit and made sure that the pedal 1 was set to CC64 Hold, I went into pedal assignments to each one to be sure pedal 1 is enabled, but to no avail. All other stage settings work fine. Questions 1) how can I get damper pedal (hold) to work again on Stage Setting 1-4? 2) Why did the original wa clav effect go away when I tried to save? 3) Is it possible to have pedal 1 providing cutoff on 1 zone while it is doing normal damper effect on the other zones? Thanks and God Bless Carl
  10. I was creating a clav multi zone stage setting, based off one of the factory provided clav with damper pedal wawa effect - as I layered a 2nd clav, then piano and brass on different zones, the pedal function seemed in conflict, as the filter was atempting to open and close it was effecting the piano and brass, so I attempted an adjustment to the damper pedal, trying to get more resonance out the clav wawa on zone 1, and allowing normal dampening on the other zones - it seemed to be working i...
