  1. The compressor I have is not a commercial one, not very big or strong, but strong enough to do the job. I never keep my keyboard covered at home, but now that you suggested it, it's not a bad idea and I don't use my keyboard out on gigs very much now that the music business is very slow. I just noticed their are two more keys that don't sound right to me so I'll blast them again and see if that works, it not, I'm not going to worry about it since they're both at the high end of the keyboard and I really don't feel like taking the keyboard apart.
  2. Hey guys thanks for your replies. I thought I would blow out any dust or dirt that was there. I have a compressor that seems to have done the job. I thought before I attempt taking the 350 apart I would blow it out first and it seems to have worked. The notes I was referring to are definitly better. I have one other note that i seem to have missed, so I try that one again.
  3. Is it possible to clean the contacts under the keyboard? There are 3 notes that only sound when I hit them hard. When I gently tap them all I hear is the tap. It would be great if the contacts under the hammers could all be cleaned, maybe that's why I'm getting uneven tone in some of the keys. I'm assuming that's the problem. I'm pretty handy so taking the keyboard apart is not a problem. Thanks,
  4. I emailed Mike Martin, but I haven't heard from him. Would he respond directly to this thread?
  5. Well, I see what you're saying, it does look a little delicate and I don't think I want to go through with this project. Maybe I'll send it to Casio and let them fix it or just let it stay like it is. Do you have any idea what they charge to fix something like this? Thanks for your posts.
  6. You're right. Saving as registrations is the way to go.
  7. Scott, I'm sorry, but I don't understand. What do you mean by setting up consecutive stage settings with everything identical except the right hand tone...and. Use pedal 2 to advance the SS up. What's SS? Also, what's a hexlayer? My PX350 doesn't have sliders.
  8. I've set up my registrations to have a bass in the left hand and piano in the right. So, how do I change the right hand piano sound without changing the left hand bass? I can change the left hand bass with no problem, haven't figured out how to do the right hand. Want to be able to do this on the fly while I'm playing a gig.

  10. Hello Jokeyman123, Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I haven't played the piano much, which by the way is a PX350, and I bought it off eBay. It's in excellent shape, well taken care of. I definitely hear a difference in sound. I'm talking specifically about the D above middle C, nine notes above. The sound of that D is not as rich and wholesome as the surrounding notes. I checked all the piano sounds and the electric piano sounds and that D does not sound the same to me. I'll get in touch with Mike and see what he thinks. I thought it was a sampling issue, but maybe it isn't. Maybe there is some dirt in the sensor. If I do decide to take it apart, is it relatively easy to clean the sensor? I'm pretty handy so I wouldn't have a problem tackling this.
  11. I just noticed that the D above middle C, and the D above that D don't have the same fullness as the rest of the notes. When I hit those two D's they sound thin. They don't sound as full as the surrounding notes. Does anyone have the same issue? I'm wondering if it's a sampling issue or a mechanical one with the piano.
  12. I don't think I explained myself properly. I don't think you have to be a genius to know that the " . . lower numbers (negative) make the layered tone softer than the "main" tone;" and the: ". . . higher numbers (positive) make the layered tone louder than the "main" tone." If you look at my question you'll see I asked; "Can someone please explain to me what I have to press to lower the volume?" What I have to press to lower the volume, after I've chosen the two tones, is: Function, then press > to Volume, then press Enter, then press v to lower the tone....... That would have answered my question.
  13. I just called Casio and spoke to a support person. He said it's possible to lower the volume in the left hand. He said first go into Layered mode and when you have your two tones selected you lower the volume in the second tone. So if your second tone is a bass you could either raise the volume or lower it. Now here's the part where he lost me because we had a bad connection and when I called him back it was the same problem I couldn't understand every thing he said, but he said after you have your two tones in Layered mode and you lowered one of the tones you go into Split mode and that's where he lost me. What he was suggesting was that once you "adjusted" the tone in Layered mode and then went into Split mode the volume would be adjusted. I've been trying to get this to happen, but as far as I get is the Layered mode. When I go into Split it all changes. If there is anyone here who can figure this out that would be great.....or maybe someone here can call Casio and speak to a support person and understand all this.
  14. I'm having a hard time understanding the manual. I have the two tones layered and the manual is saying go to page E44. I see the columns there, but I don't understand what the numbers mean. Can someone please explain to me what I have to press to lower the volume? Thanks. sus4
  15. What a BUMMER. There are so many things you can do inside this keyboard. You would think that Casio would have put this feature in too......can it be they didn't think of it.......NAH.
