NOTE: No voicebox sound that is used in song intro was attempted here. Octave 6: Arpeggio 16th notes (you must be play it though). The envelopes cuts off the notes quickly to get that mechanical arpeggiated sound, and it's also easier to play well. Octave 5: Polysynth quasi brass shots. Octave 3: String-Voicy, used for chords in middle verses.

  3. Treaure - Bruno Mars View File Stage Setting for Bruno Mars "Treasure" song. Top octave is a descending sweep (Will be revised soon, thanks to BradMZ who sent me instructions on creating filter sweeps that I'm working through). 2nd to top octave is the Pop-Bells (unsure what else to call it), it's that pop-glockenspiel that's been around since the 80's with lots of reverb/delay. Delay adjusted with slider 5, reverb with slider 6. This was a lot harder to program than I thought it would be. I thought this sound would already exist so I searched hard but couldn't find one. Middle octave is that synth lead sound which is used for that 3 note rift in the chorus. Go to the LFO depth to adjust how much vibrato and the LFO delay for how soon it comes in. Feel free to tweak and resubmit. TreasureMars.ZPF Submitter dnite Submitted 02/11/2017 Category Song Ready Stage Settings

  5. I've been trying to program filter sweeps (I think that's what you call it) for months as any modern songs have them (like many Bruno Mars ones). Closest I've gotten is using the reverse cymbal sound (which is part of the uptown funk patch I contributed). Unfortunately I found it very hard to edit that sound, especially for length. I would like to make it longer, make ones that go down instead of up, and really moderate that reverse cymbal sound. I've been searching through downloads, have found some semi-sweeps but they usually have too much of a tone to them, not the semi white noise, so I haven't found or been able to experiment to program anything suitable. Any ideas or knowledge about how to program sweeps? Thanks Doug

I was working on 'I Can't Feel My Face' (which I still haven't done, anyone?) using the 'Tom Sawyer' (BradMZ) stage setting, when I noticed with a little tweaking it would be close to the 'Shut Up..." solo sound. Thanks to Hammertom for the other "Shut Up.." patch. -Make sure you use the Mod Wheel. -Because of the portamento, hit the middle Db with zero volume before starting the solo. -Left Hand is a pad for the rest of the song. -Set the attacks (pitch, amp) to zero If you don't like the sliding (trying to imitate a monophonic Synth)..
  7. That's great if you can. There's a reason you couldn't find the 2 beat pitch rise, it's from Locked out of Heaven. It's a descending ocean wave sound in Domino (can't trust my memory). It occurs at :50, 1:02, 2:11 etc... I was right about the other sounds though. I'm using the youtube karoake version I tried some light filing of the cylinder end that goes into the keyboard. It seems to be harder to pull out now but don't think that was it. I'm guessing it's a solder fracture like jokeyman123 mentioned or something inside that's doing it. Someone must have tried taking one of these things apart. Thanks for the generous offer Arpaul. I'm going to try putting in batteries and the adapter and seeing if the batteries just take over if the adapter stops. Wondering if you're into the possibility of subbing for me if I can't make a gig? I'm guessing you read music if you're writing. My charts are 2/3 lead sheet. 1/3 notes.
  8. Thanks for the responses. I got my px-5s at Axe also in March 2014 (I'm in Burnaby), so I assume warranty is done although it didn't even occur to me. It is original power supply. It happens almost exclusively at gigs when keyboard is moving more. I hate to resort to batteries as - like most musicians - I hardly make enough to pay for gear and costs as it is (although it is a nice option to have). Arpaul. I started removing screws to try and look inside but gave up after a few dozen. Do you know what screws you remove to take off the cover? I searched web but couldn't find any instructions. Do you play with any bands? I'm in DoubleOvertime. Brad, how much would you charge for quick programming? My band is doing Domino (Jesse version) and I could use a 4 way split with the 2 beat pitch rise levelling off, the brassy-synth sound, the arpeggiator, and voicy-string sound. Except for the pitch rise I think it can be presets (top of my head I'm using va-1 for the brassy). Both my laptops went on me so I'm left with a chromebook that I can't program with. I'm not looking for perfection, just something quick & dirty. Thanks, Doug.
  9. Several times each performance the power goes out on my px-5s. I just have to turn it on again but it can be a major thorn in the performance. I believe the end of the adapter that goes into the keyboard is just slightly loose so that when I'm playing a jiggle can cause the keyboard to turn off even without the plug coming out. Taping it on doesn't seem to help either. I can't find anyone else with this problem? I'm going to buy a new adapter (not that it would be a guaranteed cure) but I can't find it anywhere in stores (Canada). Any ideas? Thanks, Doug.
  10. Great job. Used it 1st time on a gig without altering it after I switched to px-5s from my old Alesis. Only thing I didn't love was the transposing of the string a tone as I never like to keep track of transpositions, on the other hand I wish I had thought of that for fine tuning the sweep in Uptown Funk. Working on Thriller now. Thanks.

Uptown Funk stage setting I use for playing in a band (with horn section). Octave 3 is the vocal Doo's. (added a bit of low as the best sounding octave was too high) D3 is the 3 bar sweep. (took a long time but I managed without using portamento) Octave 5-6 is the held synth brass with heavy Chorus. (couldn't get the chorus effect working that well) G6 is the 1 beat sweep sound. (Very difficult to try and adjust it) I play the G6 sweep on beat 3 then the chorus-horns with a Gsus7 right below it on beat 4 for those sections with the sweep into a horn shot. First sound I've really worked on. Thanks to the Uptown 1.0 contributor as I built on that. Feel free to alter and repost. Thanks, Doug.
