  1. This was all my problem of course, on the PX5-s I misinterpreted the MIDI Filter settings in the System Settings for 'OFF', which I thought meant 'no filtering' not that the functions themselves were off. He's one for reading the manual more closely... Well my little vacation to MIDI hell was of my own making.. Thank you all for the help here - Choppin, Aron and Mike Martin.
  2. No, I don't think I have a MIDI scope, my old Kurzweil had one! Excellent Idea CHOPPIN, I will try 71 (113) tonight!
  3. The Whole Story: From Keyboard Corner: " New and Improved thanks, No I haven't gotten it to work yet, tried again last night...Mike Martin has confirmed everything is set up right in the PX5-S. The Whole Story: I originally wanted to drive all my Patch changes from the Nord but it has no Channel/MSB/LSB/Patch per patch capabilities but it does 'Set List Chain'... That was the 1st rude discovery.... It will patch change but I would have to reorg Everything (patch locations) on all my other modules/boards - not the way to go! My idea was to drive my Stage Settings which will drive the rest of my MIDI rig (Nord E5d 61 and Waldorf Blofeld) from SS in the PX5-s by using and external MIDI mapper where I could set up Set List Chains before the Casio and then SS change 'Randomly'. A work-around would be to re-organize everything in my PX5-s SS scheme and set up the 'Bank/SS patch Chains' in the Casio using it's Pedal2 'SS Increment' function which works fine. But without my original idea working I have to resort the above Pedal2 idea putting all my patches in a 'Sets Scheme' in the Casio in proper order and keep the rest of the 60 SS patches I want of those 'used and future use' SS in the Casio so I can reorg per gig through the panel or Casio Editor at home.....a lot of librarian re-org by hand to do and maintain! The Casio SS increment function with Pedal 2 does work fine.....but the setup work for re-orging the SS's is time intensive but I have to keep everything moving forward for 1st gig in 2 months as the band learns more tunes! Yeah, any input would be helpful... I'll try a 3rd controller I guess and keep going with my re-org and patch chain in the Casio for now....thank god for for memory sticks...I have two other projects I use the Casio for. I'll need about 40 SS's for 3+ sets..and use the other 60 SS locations to store the used SS Patches redundantly and other 'Future Use' SS in the remaining 60. Something I would not have to do with my other idea which was to use this: MIDI Keypad... This would have worked like a charm! Well worth the $. I need to patch change the whole rig quickly for medleys and fast sets.. I've played blues and roots music out for the past 15+ years so all this is a bit much all at once. I only needed and couple of good piano/organ/few synth patches before this 80's synth heavy project... which is something I haven't done since the 80's. It's a project with my best friend who I haven't worked with in a gig for over 20 years, a 'Bucket List' project for us, so! lb "
  4. Aron, right, both on...No I did the Homer 'DO!' check on the MIDI cable! It's all set up as both of you stated: Channel: 1 MSB:112 LSB:0 Patch: 5 (for lack of a better number) Both Send and Receive for MIDI Control =on to Channel 1. MIDI Send on VR-09= ON .... MIDI in on Casio PX5-s= ON Still no go!
  5. Aron, Thanks for responding....yes I had them both set to one 1st....tried it that and said maybe I'll try 15 on both! Tony
  6. I'm new to the Casio PX5-S forums so hello everyone! I'm having a bit of a problem getting my PX5-S's Stage Settings to change via MIDI from another controller. I have tried with both my Roland VR-09 and my Yamaha CP-50 stage piano. Both send Channel, Bank MSB, Bank LSB and Patch#... I have had both set up to Send Channel 15: MSB:112 LSB:00 Patch#: 5 (for testing) The PX5s MIDI Master Control Channel is set to 15 with MIDI-in ON, USB IN- ON, No MIDI Filtering Both Controllers are Sending MIDI Control out on Channel 15.. Tried for a day and a half and still no go, very frustrated at this point because I have no idea why this is not working! Any things I might be missing or may be related that I am un-aware of? Also, I expect this to change the Stage Setting on the PX5s immediately if I scroll through program #'s from my other controller keyboards or should this be a two stage Patch change process to set the MSB 112 1st, not 100 sure on that? Thanks, Tony
