  1. I am confused about something on the PX5S and wonder what it is that I did wrong. Before I found out about the simple way to change key, i.e. Sys Setting-Enter-Arrow, I made a key change by doing something to the stage setting at the time (AIR E Piano) by pushing a bunch of numbers, getting to the midi transpose and changed they key on that stage setting, but only that stage setting, and no matter how many times I replace that setting with the same piano, it always comes up with the new key change. How can I return it to the normal key that the rest of the keyboard is using?
  2. Thanks for the info on Facebook. To be honest, I have enough working knowledge on the new Privia to get by. I believe it'll be an on going adventure trying to get the most out of it, but for now I know how to get by. My use of social media is and probably will always be pretty minimal. This is the first forum I've connected with outside of a CNC forum for my plasma cutting, which I never use because, there again, I got what I needed and have enough working knowledge to get by in that arena. I will be constantly looking for those new sounds and stage settings. That is a huge plus for being on this site for me.
  3. To be honest, I did join Facebook about 2-3 years ago, had friends of friends wanting to be my friend whom I did know have a clue whothey were, got emails up the whazoo, clicked on a link for no email notifications, and it stopped botherng me and I quit using it. I don't even know how to get on it anymore. I probably should either figure it out or re-join, but to me, with using my email that I use also at my shop, it was interrupting my day. So far, since I checked the notifications box after this last post about using this forum I got 2 emails. I assume, in general, it will only happen when I post a topic. I can live with that. I guess I should look into the Facebook thing again, Just don't want to have it take over my life.
  4. Being the moron I am, I just spotted the "follow this topic" button. Could it be that simple?
  5. I can boast about having one of the very first Minimoogs ever built, being an analog guy in a digital world,I admit I am having a ball with my new PX-5s and probably as many out there, will never get to the point of "userness" as Mike Martin and others, but I will be able to incorporate it's huge array of sounds and soundscapes into my music along with my other keyboards. And besides most of us on this site who need some guidance on using this amazing instrument, I have to admit I am new to forums in general. I have resisted joining Facebook,Twitter, and whatever other social media is out there, but these forums are terrific inspirational venues as well as a way to communicate with others of like and superior mind. My question is: After I respond to a post, or, after I initiate a post, and I am away from my computer for a while, what is the easiest way to find if anyone responded? How do I keep track of my posting questions and those that interest me from others on this site? At 69 I didn't have the opportunity to have kids who could show me the way. I thank everyone who has shown me things about the PX5s that I would have had to struggle thru pages of Casio literature to find, and I thank Mik Martin, who, by the way, I believe is a superior musician as well as the "guy" in the Casio world, for his input to some of my questions. Thank You
  6. Speaking of Zones: I had a hex layer on zone 2 and I tried to add a 2nd Hex layer to zone 3 and it would not let me do it. Therefore is there only enough room to have one hex per stage setup?
  7. That makes perfect sense since there are 100 places to store stage settings and it's unlikely too many of us need all 100. As I am looking for new sounds and stage settings to download, I am looking for an explanation of .ZPF and .ZLT files. I have downloaded a couple of stage settings and put them into the PX-5s, but have not sent any tones or melody files over to the keyboard yet. Still a bit confusing.
  8. MIke, I cannot recall, but there was an entry or level 1 gal I first spoke with at Casio tech support, who admitedly was not a player but only offered tech assistance. SHe knew nothing and asked a supervisor who said he was unaware of any transpose feature.
  9. I have yet to try the downloading of new Stage settings and tones. I haven't used the download editor yet and probably will figure it out as I go, but is there a way to preview the stage setting that will be going in the place of one that I take out?
  10. YIKES! That was easy! Even two techs at Casio couldn't answer my question about TRANSPOSE and even said there was no TRANSPOSE feature they knew of. Thanks!
  11. In the download tutorial manual there is mention of one of the functions being TRANSPOSE. I don't recall which page it is that saw this but it is a page with all the specifications I believe. I have found the ability to transpose by using some steps: edit,9,9,6,6,9,6. This comes under the heading of Midi, but it works for each zone, but not for the entire stage setting or several zones at once. So is there another place where there is a way to transpose the entire keyboard with a transpose function?
  12. On my new PX-5s, which I have had for about a week, I am curious if I want to download a new sound or stage setting, especially some written or used by Mike Martin, will I have to replace a factory sound or stage setting? I suppose in the matter of stage settings in particular as there are 100 of them, to add a new one would mean taking the place of an existing one? Is so can I put sounds or stage settings on a USB drive for use directly from the drive or would they need to reside on board to use during a performance?
