  1. Tnicoson, I can't thank you enough for doing the additional research and digging into this deeply and for Moh.Ali Ahmed's post to further advance understanding of this subject. I think this will help a lot of people who use casio equip and have scratched their heads on the confusion of midi data translation etc., I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the change depending on mode but to borrow a phrase I learned in school...."we don't want to design it here!". Thanks Again!!!!!!
  2. I am using GB10 and have no problem playing the casio keyboard and using virtual instrument track to capture/record data which works perfect. I am struggling with how to record the accompaniment data into a suitable virtual instrument that can capture all the a and b (I question whether (A) data can be sent?) tracks..I do not see a general midi vsti in GB and if I choose keyboard I only get certain elements that do not translate correctly. I have set midi out to ch 1 and also the accomp out and local control to on. I also have tried to determine if I can set up multiple track inputs but that is apparently not an option for GB. Also on a slightly tangential related topic the casio shows up in the general midi settings but when I choose input for device on an audio track(not an availalbe option for virtual instrument?) only the mic shows up or system settings- but not the usb midi device so GB either does not allow that or I am not doing something correctly. Any help with this dilemma would be much appreciated and I hope this topic has not been discussed to infinity and I just missed it...hope this confusion makes sense to someone... thanks!
  3. that would be great to see a video of the procedure and to hearthe tracks...look forward to any tutorial vids as they seem to be scarce for the wk7600.. thanks!
  4. Thanks for posting this! I am new to the casio wk/ctk family since December of last year am constantly thumbing through the manual for reference on this and other topics. I plan on printing this summary for quick reference instead of flipping pages. Feel free to post more of these shortcuts. I know I will use them until I get some of these committed to memory.
  5. ok...Ted and Jockeyman123 nailed it and I'm glad both weighed in....it helps to read two explanations from different sources when your brain dead reading the manual........I could not get the fact that you have to play the sequencer file in audio mode to be able to create the file necessary to write to the sd card and then use DM to transfer file to pc using the card outside of the wk..... works flawless when you know how to do it right.....I assumed after you created the sequencer file in the wk..that I could use that saved file...and would not have to go thru playing it...kind of seems like an unnecessary step .. but it is what it is.......I really like the wk7600 but wish that these workstation could operate more like a window or mac computer op system.....maybe casio will look at these post for new ideas for next gens....ok...hold on to your hats folks....next step....hooking up wk to daw......might/probably will be back for more..... thanks again for all your responses and help....
  6. Unfortunately DM only is looking for sd card....I copied the folder musicdat to the desktop.....DM did not see it and I did not see the functionality in DM to search for the file outside of being on an SD card. I was wanting to convert the sequencer file to a wav file in the DM audio mode which the manaul says that it can convert sequencer files saved to an SD card to a pc in a wav format using DM. thanks...
  7. Yes, the files are in the MUSICDAT folder that is created when you format the SD card with the keyboard....thanks
  8. All, I formatted a 4 GB SD card on the wk7600 properly (musicdat folder is there etc.,) and saved two sequencer files on the sd hc card. I dowloaded DM6.1 that says it's compatible with a 64 bit windows 8 machine.....when i invoke DM in the audio mode selecting the sd card......it shows 20 casiowv files with 0mb of data on each file and 0MB of 1245 MB total and more importantly none of my files....I saved the files on the WK7600 in the SMF and as a sequencer file format.(in the form .cms and .mid file.)...when I look at the card using windows 8 explorer (not DM) it has my two files on the card showing both files have data in the form .cms and .mid file.........and not the casiowv files...I repeated the process in reformatting the SD card on the Casio....and saved again in both formats even downloaded DM again....hence...same problem.....any ideas on why they are not showing up in DM even though they are on the card as verified by file explorer...any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated..... thanks....
  9. Thanks so much for the quick response....BTW....option 2 is my choice!!..thanks again.....great help!!!!!
  10. Like others I am new since Dec 14 to the wk7600 and am pouring over the manual, watching youtube vids...getting up to speed quickly if possible...I think I hit a wall as I cannot find how to advance to a specific measure while in the song sequencer mode after I recorded a song. I added some additional licks to it and want to be able to advance to what ever measure I put this in...However I am brain dead from reading the manual and watching vids to the point that I'm sure its easy and probably right in front of me....but I cannot find it....can anyone help?
