  1. Hey Brad, thanks a ton for the info and tips! I feel i've got a much clearer picture now about the possibilities and limitations of the G1. Did you try LFO filter modulation on chords yet? (I won't give up so quick hehe) Can't wait for my G1 to arrive to push it to its limits. By the way I just read that Casio discontinued the whole XW line, guess that's why I got mine for just $300 in a blow out sale.
  2. Hello fellow XW-G1 owners, I don't own an G1 yet, but already have lots of questions, that I can't find an answer to in the manual or the editor I already installed I get that you can combine 5 samples in one user wave tone, and that you can split them across the keyboard, with each sample having it's own loop points. 1. Now how do I go about to assign each split sample in the wave tone it's own root key? I can't find any information on that. e.g. I sample a flute at pitch F3, and do a second sample playing F4 on the flute... now I sample an analog saw wave1 at pitch F3 and saw wave2 at F4 and maybe a kick drum sound. I transfer my 16bit 42khz mono samples via the Editor (as the G1 can only sample @10bit) combined in one single user wave tone, each split sample having perfect loop points. I now want to play the saw wave1 from key C2 to B2 and saw wave2 from C3 to B3 the flute from C4 to B4 and C5 to B5. The kick should be mapped on C6. all in the same preset using just one user wave tone, all samples in correct pitch in respect to their root key (up to 50 different samples, right?) 2. Is it possible to play the split samples in a user wave tone polyphonic? or are all user waves tones solo synth only? I would need to play chords with the saw wave and play the flute on top. Also the saw wave should have a shorter release time than the flute sound (seperate envelopes), and the flute should have vibrato when triggered via an external midi keyboard with aftertouch (note I would not want to waste two user wave tones to do that, in order to max out the ridiculously low user sample and preset memory, a hundred user preset and wave tone slots would be more reasonable ... well, sometimes limitations encourage creativity ) 3. Is it possible to filter a user wave tone when played polyphonic using faders, knobs or key velocity? (e.g. via a DSP effect?) 4. Is it possible to filter a user wave tone in real time when played polyphonic but also play drum sounds at the same time that should not get filtered? thank you all so much for any input on this. Larry
