  1. Hi Jack Thanks for you input, I checked out the video. While recording onto the iPad and transmitting it over to the computer is neat, I'm more interested in having a live, direct connection to a DAW on the computer. I'm sure the iTwo does that as well. There are some differences between the iTwo and the Behringer Q502USB, the biggest being $150+ vs $50 price. The Q502 also is designed to accept an RCA input, whereas the iTwo has a general purpose jack - which maybe is just fine. Feature-wise the Q502 seems to blow away the iTwo, unless you place value on the Presonus software (crippled versions). It would be nice to have a side-by-side comparison, because in the end it's the clarity of the signal that counts the most. From the video reviews I've seen, the Q502 has a very quiet noise level, so it should be more than adequate for my needs. Frankly, I'm surprised there isn't a site or special section on keyboarding sites that goes into detail regarding USB mixers. Tons of detail out there about various DAWs and keyboards, but the bit that connects them together (unless you have a keyboard that does all that?) seems to be ignored. Peter
  2. Hi Joe Thanks. The Facebook thread inspired me to look in a different direction, and now I've found what seems to be the ideal gadget. Handles TRS & RCA input, TRS balanced output, USB bi-directional, XLR microphone jack, impressive signal to noise, etc, about $50 on Amazon. I found more details on this Canadian site: http://www.acclaim-music.com/Behringer-Q502USB-XENYX-Premium-5-Input-2-bus-Mixer-with-XENYX-Mic-Preamp-and-Compressor.html Peter
  3. Thanks Joe! The unbalanced 2.3K impedance line output from the PX-5S is ok to connect into the 1/4" TRS balanced 10K impedance input of this box? Also, the line out for the box has an impedance of 51, but the speakers I've bought (Presonus Eris E5) have 10K. Does the impedance matter, does it just affect volume levels? Peter
  4. I've been looking at options to have a quality live recording of audio from the PX-5S appear in a DAW, like Garage Band or Logic Pro X. This will be connected to a Macbook Pro Retina, if it matters. Has anyone looked into the Presonus Audiobox iTwo? It sounds, no pun intended, like it's up to the job, but I haven't found any reference to people using it with a keyboard. Unbundled, it can be found for about $160 US on Amazon. One review: http://en.audiofanzine.com/external-audio-interface/presonus/audiobox-itwo/editorial/reviews/mac-pc-or-ios-this-interface-has-you-covered.html Downloads: http://www.presonus.com/support/downloads/AudioBox-iTwo-Studio Two concerns: - Can it accept the line outs from the PX-5S (TRS vs)? - Does it only work with the Presonus DAW (includes the crippled 'Artists' version)? Ideally you connect the MIDI input/output and the line output from the PX-5S to the unit, USB to the computer, the output connects to your speakers, and everything plays nicely together. Has anyone tried it? Thanks. Peter
