  1. what is the audio interface? you're not running your studio mons from your interface?
  2. I'd get a small Behringer mixer and run mono out to the mixer and one output each to the amps???
  3. like Joe said, use like the clavinet wah SS and replace the sound with a Wurli electric piano sound like Richard Wright did on the album... prob have to tweak the piano sound. I think David Gilmour was playing the wah guitar rhythm for much of it when he wasn't soloing. Pls post it on this site if you nailed it... or let us know if you didn't and maybe I can work on it.
  4. well, that's what I thought class compliant meant, but all I know is that before running that program, different DAWs would NOT recognize the keyboard in either a midi connection or USB connection.... and now everything works properly.
  5. i guess that's what I'm asking... is anyone using the XW as a controller in Win 10? i looked for a midi driver to reinstall for the XW but could not find one... anyone have a link for that??? i can use the XW Data Manager prog and work on patches fine. EDIT... I loaded the 64bit drivers from the CASIO site, even tho it didn't include the XW in the list, and it is functioning now. http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=72 I don't know if the OS upgrade wiped out the old driver or what. It may have been a brain fart from upgrading the system 3 years back from 32 to 64 bit and never loading the new drivers, since I normally don't use the XW with my desktop computer.
  6. I thought I had set up my XW for use as a midi controller with my DAWs... since upgrading to Windows 10, I get NO input in any DAW software progs (Sonar and Reaper) either as general midi or using USB. There are two midi devices in device mgr and drivers did not update when i tried that. Are the MIDIOutSel set to USB and USBOutSel set to KEY for both midi cable use and USB cable use? Any ideas?

Three files I use in my User Effects. These are milder versions of the stock Distortion FX. The TremDist has a bit of trem that works well with guitars.

I made a drum mod to use in a performance for the lowest 4 keys on the board (C2 to Eb2). I put a kick, tick, cowbell, and clap on them. I have this on my Rock Piano performance since I sometimes use a cowbell and clap, and sometimes do the count-in for a song. Just so you know, above the 4 keys are a few blank spaces and then the standard set continues, as well as below the C2 key. Just set your keyrangehi and low to the appropriate spots.

Thought I'd share my basic drum beats for using in your step sequencer. These cover MOST rock/pop/country songs. Load them in your User files for the SSEQ. To use in a song, either load them in your Performance under Sequencers...Step Seq, or you can just select the Step Sequencer after you have your performance loaded and scroll to the User files... be sure to set your tempo just before using because that info is not saved. Oh... K=Kick, S=Snare C=Cymbal, R=Rim.

  13. usually no need on a synth for TRS... many go mono out on L and R channels. Only in cases where you go long distances or other impedance factors are involved does it require like a DI box.
  14. Is there a way to load up my 0-0 piano SS with the 4 lowest keys being a cowbell, a clap, and two other drum kit sounds? I noticed you can only load drum sets in zone 1. The sounds I want are spread over the keyboard... Eb1, Ab2... I tried it in the XW-P1 and I could put sounds in the lowest keys on all zones by playing with the octave, transpose, upper and lower range, but i didn't want just a performance with 4 notes. I haven't looked at the software yet, but thought I'd ask to get any ideas first.
  15. they used the EMS V3 synth for that song... did u try mixing some sine and square wave layers for that? I may split the keyboard and have one half setup with the section that sounds like thirds... i made some Floyd sounds for the XW... there are so many different synths used in those songs it's hard to keep up with.
