    Pre purchase advice

Glad to hear it works on your 260. Another I can add to the list. This COULD mean where the manual refers to "navigation" midi then this is what its referring to?? Still no answer from Casio or the dealers - maybe this 'feature' is not supported (but they have fogetten to cull it from the manual). Thanks again, Keith
  2. I've sent a better worded enquiry to Casio and this time the enquiry has been acknowleged! They are currently trying to find out what the manuals references to 'navigation' actually mean and which keyboard can do what. I'll post back when the info comes availabe
  3. Having studied Casio manuals carefully - the above models list "navigation Midi tracks x2" Are these are the two midi tracks that control the key lights? (the manual really is a waste of paper here). If I feed a MIDI file into them where; Track1 = music for left hand Track2 = music for right hand Track3 = clone of track one Track4 = clone of track two Can these then be played as 'training songs' where the key light comes on and waits for me to press it before lighting the next? Happy to provide a file if anyone is happy to try on one of these keyboards? Sad that Casio cant be arsed to answer this question - their silence is annoying, I wish some one else offered this functionality. Thanks for any advice and the help in getting this far. K

OK - seems I'm asking an illogical beginners question so lets close this thread and start a new (more specific) one. Thanks all

Hi Scott, Thanks for that - are you sending a 'normal' unmodified midi file? We know that will not work the lights. Unless you are sending a four track file (that used to be a two track file) where you have cloned track one to three and track two to four then the keylights wont work the way I want. Thanks K

Hi Brad, Thanks for the info. I didn't know about the different number of keys that can be simaultaniously lit. Watching this seems to say that a two track midi file can be copy/pasted to 4 tracks where 1,2 are sound and 3,4 keylights. The keyboard appears to wait for a key to be pressed before lighting the next (like its training songs). This doesn't appear in the manuals. Hoping for confirmation that this is supported by other LK models. LK175 are readily available here (UK) but if it has to be a LK280 - probably amazon from the US. Are there any other keyboads with lightup hunt&peck mode? Waiting on answers from Casio and a shop. I may have misunderstood how this works - if this is just daft, let me know! Thanks again
  7. Hi Casio Gurus, I want to buy one of the Casio Light Up keys 'training mode'. I want to use my own 'training songs' I want to send or load my own Midi files to operate the lights without playing the notes and not have the notes light when I press them. I dont need to select just the left or right hand (I can make seperate midi files if I need that option). I dont need to use the advanced training features - all I want is the LEDs to come on when the MIDI is sent to the keyboard (whilst the sounds come from keyboard key presses). From the great U-tube, I understand this is possible with the LK 280, is it possible with any cheaper LK? Excuse the number of I's. Please advise which models (including out of production models) as I understand the LK120 is the only LK still being made and that has no input option (no sd card, no Midi, no USB). Any other keyboard make/model considered! Thanks in advance... K
