  1. Help me out. I'd like to download a bunch of music that I've recorded... some from albums I own, some from the internet, others from friends..... to play on my Casio Privia PX850. It says that a WAV file will work, which I can easily convert to. But it doesn't. Can someone give me a very basic "how to do this" instruction.
  2. Thx for the help, but doing something wrong. I can't format using the piano (tried several thumb drives, and get the same results). So, I formatted to a FAT32 thumb on my Mac, and added the files AUDIO and MUSCLIB manually. I converted one of my songs to a .WAV file, renamed it TAKE01.WAV and tried in. Tried it in the Audio folder and the MUSCLIB folder, nothing. I'm trying to play by pressing "FUNCTION" and then the key for "USB flash drive mode", which is the lowest white key on the keyboard. After I pulled out the drive, I noticed that the piano created another MUSCLIB folder, with sub folders 61 thru 70. So, I put the song in folder 61, with no luck.
  3. Brad, No folders named "AUDIO" and "MUSCLIB" Does the words "TAKE" have to be there? Very confusing. Suggestions on formatting? Thanks! Seevee
  4. All, I have a PX 850 Privia and would like to download music from my computer to a thumb drive and play it. Questions: First, I'm having trouble formatting an 8g drive. Following the instructions in the manual, everything goes ok until the last step... pressing the SONG button to start the formatting: After the SONG button is pressed, the SONG lite starts blinking and the the two L / R SONG RECORDER buttons go out and it remains like that for over 30 minutes and does not look like the book shows when formatting is complete. What am I doing wrong? And can I format the thumb drive on my Mac? Also: What formats with the Privia accept? WAV, MP3, others??? Cant see in the book where it indicates that. Thanks!
  5. Thanks Brad, I know the tempo (speed of the song) can be changed, I've done it. Also, believe that the tone, meaning the pitch of the note can be changes (but could be wrong), the manual clearly says it can... that is to change the pitch of the whole piano to match another musical instrument, but not a killer deal for me. The tempo thing is driving me nuts. I've done it before, but can't duplicate it consistently. Thanks much.
  6. should have mentioned that ... Privia 850 Seevee
  7. All, Having trouble getting the function button to work for the following things: (page E21, in the manual) Changing the Tempo It says hold the Function key and press the Tempo + or - which would be two Cs below middle C and it's sharp. Nothing happens. Also, could select three of the tempo keys (two below middle D to one below middle C, like 120 which would be normal) nothing happens. Changing the tone Assume that's what they call "tuning" PE24, second box from top. Have no clue how this works And most of the other parameters, but not important at this time. Thanks for your help.
  8. Tried to download some music here and got a .ZPF file. Won't open and have no clue how to handle it. Thoughts? Seevee Privia 850
  9. Hi all, I'm a new be here and are just getting into the Privia 850 and have a bunch of questions that I couldn't find answers to: First, my goal is to use this for personal fun, playing it myself and playing recorded songs to help me learn and for enjoyment. 1. Is there any better source for figuring out how download music to a flash drive to play on the 850 other than the manual, which is confusing? Is the only kind of file that the 850 takes a .wav file? I tried to download a file from this forum to see if it would work, and came up with a Windows EXEC file that I can't convert. Are there files (songs) on this forum that will work, or do the different Casio products use different formats? I'm going to try to take a file from my iTunes, convert it to WAV and see if it works...should it? 2. Is there a good site for downloading music for this piano? WAV or otherwise? 3. Playing back: How can I adjust the tempo for songs that I play back, manual says I can, but doesn't work? Also, the manual implies that I can change the tone of the playback music (adjust the whole tone up or down so it matches the keyboard, so I can play with it. How is this done? Thanks much for help. Great little piano for the home. Just wish it was a bit more user friendly. Seevee Privia PX 850 Max OS 10.9.5
