  1. looking forward to see how you do this on an xw...
  2. HI Mike: Is it possible for Casio to provide new sample sounds for the XW G1. Perhaps some new cool drum kits.. just a request! Thanks for your help.
  3. thanks for the answers. the tolerances on the sliders and knobs do seem to be quite wide. when I move a slider, I would say the top 15% and bottom 15% of the movement are dead zones.
  4. My g1 sliders and knobs have dead zones. the sliders are pretty bad near the top and the bottom... i can move them a lot and have no change to the parameter. does anyone else have this problem, or is my unit defective?
  5. these are my initial ideas for improvement, in what will likely be a long line of posts.. don't get me wrong.. as is, i think the xw-g1 is great, but if you are asking me for update ideas, here are a few: 1) is there some way (perhaps this is not possible) to make the solo synth have more polyphony? Perhaps if we remove the effects.. like an overide mode.. a solo synth which is not quite solo.. that would be amazing. 2) changing the pitch of a note in a drum kit. Suppose i want a higher pitch on my snare, and a lower pitch on my kick, but want everything else the same. I coudn't find this feature.. but seems pretty simple to implement 3) is it possible to layer multiple voices in the phrase sequencer.. e.g piano and drums? 4) the sampler is not that easy to use, or i haven't figured it out yet... loading a simple drum kit involves going to the pc software, finding start/stop points (in a software which isn't too user friendly).. 5) a deeper tremolo effect...
  6. Mike was right. Loaded a few of my own sampled drum sounds in a kit.... Awesome
  7. Yes... the goal is to make my own drum kit with my own sampled sounds. Will try to do what Mike said when i get home.. thanks for the input Mike and for creating this forum. you are an asset to casio for sure. needless to say.. this casio is amazing for the price, but its a bit tricky to figure out all the capabilities.
  8. thanks. I think you can control a few elements of a drum sound within a kit, like reverb, volume.. but i was hoping to significantly change the pitch of a kick, for instance...maybe the programmers will add the feature in a future release.. also, still no luck in loading a sample drum kit and getting each key to play a separate sound...
  9. i'm agree with the xw enhancements.. make a great synth even better
  10. I check the board somewhat frequently..would be cool if there was an expert type who can help the convo's along. I have the G1... and info on that synth is light when compared to its sibling.
  11. ... correction to my above post.. i meant ijust purchased the g1, not the gw...
