  1. Yeah. I got a good price on them for sure. They are listed for $159.99 on the Casio web site. I saw another dealer on Amazon charging $279.99.
  2. Hello dc2k. I paid $129.99 from Total Music Source through Amazon.com. I did not see them on the Casio Shop. -Sheldon-
  3. I managed to get my hands on a pair of XW-H3 headphones, and I am loving them. I got the gray and red XW-H3's to go with my XW-G1 synth. I also have the XW-P1 synth. Now I just need the XW-J1 to finish up the XW series. Anyway, I am very impressed with the XW-H headphones. They sound great, and they do a really nice job of isolating outside noise. They are also very comfortable, and I love the way they fold and twist.
  4. I also have both, and I am happy that I do. The XW-G1 is definitely rare compared to the XW-P1. I ended up buying my XW-G1 second-hand, but it was in mint condition.
  5. I absolutely love the Tyrian voice. Thanks Double P.

This is a Cakewalk Sonar Instrument Definition File for the Casio XW-G1. It will allow you to access all of the sounds on the XW-G1 from inside of Sonar, Cakewalk, Reaper, or any other program that uses the .INS instrument definition file format. In this revision I corrected the name of the GM Harp sound (P180, Program 46, Bank 0). This file was based on Mike Martin's Casio XW-P1 V 0.5 Instrument Definition File.

This is a modified Cakewalk Sonar Instrument Definition File for the Casio XW-P1. It will allow you to access all of the sounds on the XW-P1 from inside of Sonar, Cakewalk, Reaper, or any other program that uses the .INS instrument definition file format. In this revision I added bank 100 (User PCM Melody) and bank 125 (User Drums) to Mike Martin's V 0.5 Instrument Definition File. Now we can access 100 more user tones (piano, strings/brass, guitar/bass, synth and various) and 10 user drum kits.

  14. Wicked. I have enjoyed your video for a while now. Thanks for sharing the tone. This is awesome.
  15. I re-uploaded the XW-G1 Instrument Definition File after fixing the name of the GM Harp sound (P180, Program 46, Bank 0). Excel automatically put in the name GM Harpsi. while I was typing, and I did not catch it. It is fixed now, though. All of the patch names should be correct.
  16. I wanted to be able to use my Casio XW-G1 in Cakewalk as well as my XW-P1, so I built a Cakewalk Sonar Instrument Definition File based on the one Mike Martin did for the XW-P1. You can download it here. Casio XW-G1 INS.zip I tested it with a 4-track MIDI file setting two tracks to synths, and two tracks to drums, and it seems to work well. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. -Sheldon Sims-
  17. That was the missing step Mike. I forgot about edit mode, and I didn't scroll down enough on the page I downloaded the firmware update from. The update worked now, and both of my XW's are running on 1.10. Thanks Mike. Thank you, too Scott for your response. For anyone else updating their firmware: you have to press the POWER, EDIT and WRITE buttons at the same time to put the XW in UPDATE mode.
  18. I can't get my XW-G1 to accept the firmware update 1.10. On the PC, I get the Not Connected message. On the Mac, I get a message telling me to hook the keyboard to the PC and hit OK. I don't have any problems with the Data Editor. It sees the XW-G1 and works perfect.
