  1. Hi and welcome Lucabbrasi, I would also like to see a new sound pack released. As for new firmware to 'fix' the limitations you mentioned, I don't think that will happen. They are limitations of the hardware. Don't forget the price of this synth and what it can do. Maybe Casio will surprise us...

    New sounds!

Hi Radon_22 (Hypnotuba). I'm EDcase who commented on your track. I'm going to try out your sounds now... Cheers, ED
  3. If you don't want to hack your pedal, you could make an extension cable with a female and male plug and just cross the wires between the two. So you just use the extension when you want the output reversed. (The extension cable can be very short of course)
  4. Ah well then the XW is different from the CTK then. The CTK definitely needs the Casio SP-20 pedal because I tried one with a polarity switch and it didn't work.
  5. It does have 2 pedal inputs so doesn't that mean that one can be expression?
  6. Unfortunately I went throught a similar confusion when I first got a pedal for a Casio. (Was a CTK-7000 but its the same with the XW-P1) Is seems that (naughty) Casio have used a proprietary pedal system so you have to get one of their pedals (SP-20) No other pedal will work even if it has a polarity switch ...Unless I missed something...
  7. I guess they didn't think that was so important to list... (its usually the cheaper keyboards that have, "#### patterns" listed in the specs) Its early days, more details will emerge soon...
  8. Uh oh, as far as I know that means a return to Casio. There was a known issue with the original Mac update file but that was fixed in the latest download so it must have been something else which caused it. Sorry can't help any more but perhaps Mike or Jared have a secret reset tip...
  9. ...or wait for the VR3000 D-B (Direct to Brain) interface. ...and if you drop it then it could be worth $0 Yeah, that is a tough decision. I guess no friends have one you could try? What about a local music shop to see a demo? It all comes down to how much benefit it will give you over your current setup. (I totally agree that it would be great to try first)
  10. Mike does mention 'patterns' at 6:00 when I think he actvates one. I'd be very surprised if they don't have any.

    Firmware Update

Anyone at Casio know if a new firmware is being worked on? Not expecting anything, just curious. EDIT: One thing I would like to add (which may be possible with firmware): When editing a numeric parameter it would be great if the Bank number keys worked for direct digit input. It works like that when chosing a tone in a Hex layer but not with other numeric entries.
  12. Its not a very hard decision as its the ONLY option The hard part is deciding if its worth forking out that much money for it...
  13. Hi Jared, When I had a CTK-7000 I watched some of your vids Its great to 'see' you here...
  14. Good deal there. Looking forward to hearing some tunez and sharing stuff

    New sounds!

EXCELLENT track Patrick !!! Soon I'll upload a HEX I made to play Vangelis Blade Runner. (I know there is a Solo version in the sound pack but I wanted to have a polyphonic one )
  16. Hey, no problem. I'm just glad I can contribute something I don't know how to play keyboards yet but I'm pretty good with gadgets
  17. None of my P1 keys "squeak" If its a real problem for you, there is a lubricating/cleaning spray you can get which is designed to use with electronics. Look for: "Servisol Super 10" I had a CTK-7000 before the XW-P1 and I liked the key feel of the CTK a bit more but its not a big deal for me. I do wish the keys were a bit harder to push as its VERY easy to accidentally press a flat or sharp when your finger is between them.
  18. Its disappointing that Apple has cornered the market for almost all music related software on tablets. I also own an Android tablet and wish there was something I could use...
  19. Well, actually yeah, the 'Audio in' works for me in all modes. (There is no way to affect it on the keyboard either in volume or On/Off) I plugged in an MP3 player and I could hear it no matter what mode I was in. The MP3 volume needs to be quite high. Equivalent to 'Line-in' on most audio equipment I guess. The 'Mic in' also works in all modes and obviously has higher gain. [in SoloSynth, if you have the 'Ext' included as an Oscillator then it will only sound when you press a key] If you can't hear the Mic input in other modes make sure its not dissabled it in the Mixer. Press MIXER then 'Part -' repeatedly until you are all the way at the (left) end which will have the title 'Ext' There you can turn it ON/OFF and also change the volume. (Don't forget the actual 'Mic volume' knob on the back next to the input) Hope that helps...
  20. Hi and welcome Peter, About the modular idea: Fair enough. I Just wanted to get the idea across as I'm new to the whole keyboard/synth thing it might have been a different angle. I'm sure Casio will break a few molds and shake the other company trees
  21. I think the only way to play in without processing (pass-through) is with the 'Audio In [stereo]' 3.5mm jack Is that what you mean?
