  1. Hi Brad. Thanks for helping. As far as I can see I have bandhelper set up to send the stage setting changes - Msb 112 Lsb 0 Prog 98 for setting 9-8. When I change the stage Settings on the Px it changes the associated songs on bandhelper but not the other way around which is what I need ie when I select a song in bandhelper I want it to change the stage setting on the px. I did have it working a few years ago but no matter what I do I can't get it to work now. I was messing around with the midi settings in system for something else but I have midi in and out enabled as well as USB out and midi out set to key. I have tried setting sync to off, slave and master all to no effect.
  2. I am having a problem with bandhelper sending stage setting changes to the px5s. I had this problem 3 years ago and sorted it with the rex filter. Program changes in the rex filter is turned off but Bandhelper will accept song changes form the px5s but px5s is not changing stage setting when I change a song on Bandhelper. I think it is something to so with the global midi settings on the Px. Could anyone tell me what the factory settings for midi are on the px5. I can't find what I'm looking for in the manuals.. I have the ipad connected via a USB cable. Any help greatly appreciated.
  3. I didn't think of it until you suggested it. Here's a screen shot of what its sending . It appears to be just sending the program changes for each zone. I don't know what the controller means that its sending on channel 15. Channel 15 was the device ID in the settings. Thanks for your help so far. Midi data.pdf
  4. Thanks for suggestion Brad. However that doesn't appear to be the problem. I did some more test runs . If I have stage setting A as follows: Z1 on volume 127 Z2 off Z3 off Z4 off and stage setting B as follows: Z1 off Z2 on volume 127 Z3 off and 4 all works perfectly from one to the other - zones are turned on and off as required. However if I turn off Z1 in stage setting A and bring up the volume on Z3 while I am playing , change to stage setting B play some more then change back to stage setting A Z1 is turned on alright but at min volume. Its puzzling me. the Ketron is getting the messages to turn off and on zones but is holding to the last known volume of the zone rather than the one saved in the stage setting. I have gone through all the settings I can think of and I'm not having any success. Any more thoughts very welcome.
  5. Hi all, I wish to control a Ketron SD1000 from the px for additional sounds. I have it working fine - accessing the 4 sound banks. I have the first 4 sliders set to zone off/on and volume to bring in and out sounds according as I want them depending on what Stage setting I am using. The problem is as follows - If I have a stage setting with zone 1 and 2 operational and the 3 and 4 turned off when I change to a setting with zone 4 operational its off until I activate the slider. It is like as if the sd1000 does not recognise the volume controller change when I change the stage setting ( or the px is not sending the change). Also if I have a transpose on for example zone 4 at -24 when I call up another stage setting with no transpose it holds on to the transpose, again the change is not transferring. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ger.
  6. Success at last. The Rex filter in the midi settings was the culprit. I messed with every midi setting I could and when I turned program change to off in the Rex filter settings it worked
  7. Hi. Did you ever sort this out. I’m having the same problem with my px5s.
  8. I tried nrpn but it made no difference. Also tried different midi and usb cables. I’m at a total loss .
  9. Hi Brad, midi in enable is on and the basic channel is set to 15. Stage setting is set to program chg as that’s where it receives program changes with msb and lsb. I’ll try with it set to nrpn and see what happens. Regarding the cable that appears to be working ok as the px5 can send to the iPad with no problems. It’s the iPad sending to the px5 is the problem.
  10. I want to change the stage settings. I set up stage settings for various songs and I want them to change according to what song I select in Bandmaker.
  11. Hi all, I am tryin to send program bank changes from Bandhelper. Ipad connected to px5 via usb cable. I am using channel 15 and msb 112 lsb o and the the program no. when using midi learn on bandhelper the px5 populates the msb and lsb fields on Bandhelper so the keyboardios talking to Bandhelper. Problem is the px5 is not receiving the program changes from Bandhelper. I am a bit confused about the midi settings on the px5 so any help will be appreciated. I also used a usb/midi convertor and used a midi cable into the px5. Same thing the px5 will activate Bandhelper but not the other way around. Bandhelper appears to be sending the midi preset as the lights on the convertor light up when sending the midi preset but has no effect on the px5. I think its a midi setting on the px5 but no matter what I tried setting wise I can't get it to work. Any help will be deeply appreciated. regards Ger.
  12. Thanks all for replies and help. i initialized it and what it solved the problem. It’s fine now.
  13. Hi all, Thanks for replies. Volume is at about 9- 10 o'clock which is where I would always leave it and rely on the amp for volume I haven't changed any of the settings The stage setting is gig piano from Dave on the site here -it was working perfectly. The stock pianos are also distorting The mod wheel is at 0 and its not a mod wheel sound - its overdrive or distortion when played anyway loudly I think I'll reset it to Factory and go from there although it sounds like an output transformer or power supply sound ant I have changed over the power supply Any more advice will be greatly appreciated
  14. I have a casio px5s recently bought secondhand. It was ok when it was delivered and played well for about 5 days at home. Then the next time I played it the piano sounds were distorted. I checked all leads and the amp etc but to no avail. The funny thing is, strings and organ sounds are ok. Has anyone encountered this.
  15. Thanks Brad. I discovered that it has to be TAKE** as opposed to Take**. regards Ger.
