  1. Hi Cman your style and vocal reminds me of the UK professional keyboardist Pete' Shaw. Nevertheless you've made an impressive track
  2. There's a guy on Facebook and YouTube (DJ Steve Francis) who has three Casio keyboards including a WK3200, and plays, records tracks with Audacity and sells his CDs all recorded at 432Hz -Check him out
  3. I don't know if you've seen this, but some of its content may help you?
  4. In my humble experience, repeated use of plugging into the USB socket causes premature wear, which is a well known fact with all makes of keyboard. I normally keep a USB socket extensions permanently plugged into my keyboards for this reason.
  5. Interesting firmware update. Does this now mean I can connect my midi bass pedals or controller keyboard?
  6. There was a lull of some 15 years between the MZ2000 and the arrival of the MZ-500
  7. Rather than taking the keyboard to pieces you could try sprinkling the covers with talcum powder, rubbing it into the fabric with your fingers, then gently vax-ing it up. This works best on lighter colored fabrics. Alternatively, shaving foam (neat) is a good fabric cleaner. Just leave on covers for a while and carefully blot with a slightly damp cloth and leave to dry naturally
  8. As Brad says, I was unaware the PX-560M could assign the Upper and Lower parts to the Midi IN port. This will make things easier. My own Nord 27Key pedalboard has a fixed Midi Ch3, 5 pin DIN OUT. If the PX-560M has no 5 pin Midi DIN IN socket you will need a Midi to USB host unit to connect this type of pedalboard to the keyboard. (Such as the Kenton Midi - USB Host Unit MKII or MK III)....And you should be fit to go!
  9. Unfortunately you will not be able to play your PX-560M sounds with a pedalboard. Unlike the Korg EK-50 or i3 keyboards, sounds on Casio and Yamaha keyboards are not presented at the USB ports. I play my keyboards with a Nord 27 Key pedalboard. No problem when playing sounds on the Korg EK-50 with the pedals, but both Casio and Yamaha on their USB only keyboards do not present the sound played at the USB ports to be picked up by midi devices other than a computer. More expensive/advanced keyboards have a dedicated 5 pin mdi DIN input port for this type of purpose. As a 'work around' I have a MidiPlus (also marketed as a Pianobox) sound generator, which enables me to select and play pedal sounds of my choosing (from a 127 GM Midi selection) which I then amplify back through the keyboard. There's some Youtube demonstrations of this device I've tried to explain all this as simply as possible so I hope it helps?
  10. Since keyboard manufacturers have moved away from providing the original 5-Pin DIN Midi sockets on their keyboards connecting midi equipment, via a separate USB to DIN Host unit seems to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Casio and Yamaha will not transmit via USB via a Host unit to stand alone 5 Pin Midi equipment whereas Korg does allow such connectivity via their USB keyboard sockets. When midi first arrived in the market it was proclaimed to be a 'universal' means of connectivity, but with the emergence of solely USB midi connections on keyboards Casio and Yamaha only allow their keyboards to 'speak' to computers and not other freestanding midi equipment which can only be connected via 5 Pin Midi DIN sockets
  11. Notes played on keyboard not sent to the USB Host Port. Unlike the Korg EK-50 and i3
  12. Great realistic pipe organ voicing/layering and tone editing?
  13. Will the CT-S series of keyboards load TN7 User Tones?
  14. Thanks Brad. Some keyboards enable the notes that you play on the keyboard are sent to the internal sound generator and to the USB TO HOST port. -Is this the case with the CT-S1 and CT-S500/1000v
  15. From the users guide (page EN55), am I right in thinking that if I connect, via a midi host unit connected to the USB host, my midi bass pedals, transmitting on Ch1 or Ch2 will sound the main tone or layered tones on the CT-S1 ?
  16. Is there a strip of felt at the end of the keys like the CT-S1 ?
  17. I think you will find that Midi Files are a breed of their own. As I understand there is no simple way to convert mp3 audio songs to midi without re-recording
  18. This inconsistency of tone/voice volumes seems fairly common in many of the lower end keyboards regardless of manufacturer. More expensive, top end keyboards have a 'global'' feature which enables players to customize their preferred settings throughout, thereby, overriding the manufacturers default settings.
