  1. I like my S100, but the bass is very poor particularly on the organ setting. I would like to keep using the built-in speakers but add a sub woofer for the bass. The USB contains no audio. I’m thinking of tapping on the speaker line and feeding to a pre-amp but this is pretty invasive. Is there another way? Plugging into the headphone jack will disconnect the speakers totally.
  2. When comparing some of the default bass sounds between the PX-S3000 and PX-560, I noticed the volume seems much lower on the PX-S3000. Is there any way to globally increase the default volume? The sound level seems to be already at max 127. The only way I could boost the level is to tweak the DSP settings and save as a registration, but then I can't use it as a lower split sound.

  4. I've been using the EHX Lester K rotary pedal recently, and although an excellent pedal, it has some faults. One of which is the fact that any note below Eb (middle) increases dramatically in volume (for some reason I've only seen this problem persist in the P1). Is there any way to lower the bass in the P1 so next time I go gigging the audience won't have to put up with the ground shaking beneath them? Also, Is there a way to get an unproccessed drawbar organ sound e.g no extra effects such as chorus or gain? I think the Lester K adds some extra nonadjustable chorus - this could be intended, but it also could be something conflicting with the P1; either way this isn't necessarily a good thing. if there is a way to get an unprocessed sound on the drawbar organ of the P1 that would most likely fix all my problems.

Using the Solo Synth and it's clocking envelope feature, here is a tempo synced bass sound that works nicely for EDM. Note: This sound is designed to be used with the Step Sequencer running. Demo using XW-G1 with optional kick drum (also available from this site) and PX-5S for some textures. https://soundcloud.com/casiomusicgear/xw-pumped-bass-demo
  7. One of the bands I play in recently had to fire its bass player (3rd one in 2 years). I was given the bass chair, so to speak. We do a mix of classic rock, R&B, and country. I'm not totally unfamiliar with LHB, but had not done it for years. I remember reading some posts about the "drab bass sounds" of the PX. Anyway, got to programming - bass to its own output, ran it to a bass amp, did a little tweaking, added an EQ, and viola! Bass sounds to die for! Now I just need to learn how to play! After practicing with the drummer a solid week, we did a gig on the fourth-of-July and we came off great, even got extra $$$ to play an hour after the fireworks. Definitely need to practice more, but we will never have lame bass playing or bad bass tone again. A few things came up in programming that I want to comment on. First, it's a drag there no mono mode. Bass sounds could really benefit from this. But that's been talked about to death. It is what it is and not a big shortcoming by any means. I never play live in stereo, either onstage or FOH, but it still would be nice to have other outputs, because the stereo effects leak from side-to-side. You can get the delay to just one side, but not the verb or chorus. Maybe Casio could come up mono, or panable (word?), versions of system reverb & chorus? Lastly, it is a drag that hex layers only go in zones 1& 2. What if I have a nice (hex) Rhodes layered with a nice (hex) pad - where do I put my (hex) SuperBass tone, when I come up with it? Again, not a big deal, but a mild PITA. Overall, the PX5s came thru big time - ease of programming and quality sounds - couldn't ask for more.

This is what I started for the 'harmonica' challenge. Split bass and attempt at harmonica, but looking for a 'good' harmonica.

It is so easy to be inspired by the Minimoog. Such as classic design and sound that is still sought after today. While being a digital synthesizer, the XW-series can do a pretty remarkable job of mimicking those classic Moog sounds. The Minimoog had 3 oscillators plus a noise generator and although the XW has a 4th oscillator in its Solo Synth engine - all of these sounds were crafted with the original in mind. A set of 10 Leads and basses, the specialties of the Minimoog. Separate versions above for the XW-P1 and XW-G1. Note that by design, some of the bass sounds will only function in the bottom three octaves of the keyboard. http://youtu.be/8XG5zQ9_lw8
