  1. My latest acquisition! I've never owned an SK model, and thought it was about time that I did. The classic SK-1, 5, 200 etc. are all rather sought after these days and can command rather high prices on eBay. Then I found out about the later SK-60 model, which is actually quite a bit more powerful than the earlier SK's, with much more sampling time, higher quality sampling, sampling effects, the ability to split sampling time to one long sample, two shorter samples or four short samples. Then it also has the ability of voice cycling, meaning that with each key press it will cycle through sample 1, sample 1 - 2, sample 1 - 2 - 3, or sample 1 - 2 - 3 and 4. The possibilities this gives you is immense. Oh, and you can even assign the root sample to any specific key, then the sampler will work with that, and there are four effects pads that can work their magic on the samples. On top of that, it has this somewhat weird "magical singer" feature that uses sort of acapello voice sounds for melody and even the "drums" (sort of like beat boxing, ish.) Best of all, as it's not as collectable as the earlier SK's, they can be picked up for less. This one is almost in 'as new' condition too and works perfectly. Somewhat strangely seeing as it's more powerful than the earlier SK's, it lacks both a headphone/ line out and also microphone line in jack sockets. It also seemed to have been marketed more as a gimmick/ toy rather than as a serious piece of kit. Having a few initial try out sessions I'm very impressed at what this crazy little keyboard is capable of. And yes, I've already tried doing Paul Hardcastle's "19" and Fatboy Slim's "Rockafella Skank" with it! 😂 Plans are to add a line out and possibly a mic line in, then see if I can do an entire song with it. Maybe in conjunction with my equally bonkers Casio Rapman keyboard! Regardless, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this SK-60. Crazy Casio at their best!
  2. Hello, I have a problem with my keyboard. The computer is not looking for it for me. I tried to connect many times, but it did nothing. I want to connect it to the Synthesia application. Model: Casio CTK-750
  3. Hiya, I own a Casio WK-3200. Am a second owner. I am also selling it as I am looking to upgrade so I want to know if I can fix it. The person I bought the keyboard from wasnt the owner, but her sister owned it and was selling for her. She said her sister had barely used it at all. When I got it, the keyboard looked great, well kept so I dont want to blame damage from the previous owner. Problem: So all keys work fine except for C2 and C3. The issue is when these two are pressed with a bit more force, either individually or together, there is a rattling sound or like a distortion. When I play a C octave as bass notes on the left hand and a C chord on the right hand (with the two keys being pressed mentioned above) it is highly likely that this distorted or like rattling sound occurs. It makes playing the notes sound bad, happens in both speakers. Touch sensitivity is set to 2, which is good for how I play but its just the two C notes ruining it. If I set the tranpose to '01' instead of '00' it fixes it but it changes how everything sounds and I am not a fan. This ringing/rattling/distorted noise happens on any touch sensitivity just at different points when pressing the keys. Its not a matter of 'just press the keys with less force', I am selling this keyboard and it shouldn't happen so I am asking for a fix for it so its as good as new to go to a new owner.
  4. Hi all, Got my px-s1000 last week in order to learn piano. Really like it and love that I can practice with the headphones on when family go to bed. Anyhow, just tonight I have noticed a sort of knocking sound, like knocking on a wood table sort of sound (but sort of with echo/reverb type quality too) in the higher keys, noticeable faintly from around the 5 keys then more and more so as you continue up, to where the top keys are more percussion/knocking than note. Basically is this mimicking the sound of an actual piano? I am not talking about physical knocking/sounds of the keys being pressed here, it doesn't do it on electronic piano setting for example, but it is like the sound is simulated to be like that. I've tried all grand piano settings and rock piano setting and sounds same. Any help much appreciated. Kind regards Craig Voice 002.m4a

  6. I pulled the trigger on a Casiotone CT-S300! Black Friday deal of 20% off $139 RRP, which is the price I've seen on every other site currently selling this model. I used the coupon code "THANKS20". Only 1 left in stock, so I thought I'd share it here in case anyone else was looking to get one at a bargain price. (Hope it's ok to share a link to the seller's site?) https://www.rakuten.com/shop/adorama-camera/product/CSCTS300/?sku=CSCTS300&scid=pla_google_adorama-camera&gclid=CjwKCAiA_f3uBRAmEiwAzPuaM_4EqktdMmx_7MfaUKKkSLvdI8JSfxc7tDaZ6Dig4KbTzr_WHwFhABoCBxcQAvD_BwE
  7. Can anyone recommend a great synth to go in the backgroundto download from here. I play lots of new age contemporary christian and looking for some good sounds. Any help is appreciated Casio PX 560m
  8. Hello, This is my first post. I know nothing about music, but want to learn to play keyboards for pastimes. I did some research on the web, and this has led me to narrow down my choice to Casio keyboards. My preference in decreasing order(according to the products available in my country): 1) CTK-7300IN (sliders on left side) 2) WK-240K7 (76 keys) 3) CT-X870IN/ CT-X8000IN (new AiX sound engine) Questions: 1) Since where I live, music and keyboards are a very rare hobby, I am not getting a used one, and the equivalent of 280 USD is the most I can spend, are the choices of keyboards correct? (7300 cost my quivalent of 280 USD, that's 3/5 of a month's salary) 2) I want one good keyboard, so that after I learn my way around music, I can still use the keyboard for making better music, are the afore-mentioned choices good? 3) Someone on a forum claimed that CTK-7300 come close to workstation capabilities, so does that mean I can actually synthesize music with its Drawbar Sliders? 4) In my learning journey, will 61 keys hinder me, so that I can consider the WK240 76 key version? 5) What kind of DSP do these Casios have? And do I need a hardware synth module so that I can create advanced effects? (Like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV2FIWhH-Z8) 6) Does AHL vs AIX matter for me? People already claim Yamahas have more depth of sound than Casios, and I don't want a Yamaha. (My choice: 7) Can I make guitar pedals FX work with my Casio? Do I need guitar pedals for FX like reverb or delay? 😎 Do I need a monitor speaker? Will a plain CD Player's speaker work? Are the Keyboard's onboard speakers good enough or poor? 9) Since these have USB MIDI, can I connect them directly to a speaker? 10) Do I need a DAW? What are some low cost/ free DAWs? Is a soft-synth far better than any hardware synth, since they use computer CPUs?
  9. My apologies for such a rudimentary question, but I am looking to pick up a used Casio keyboard that is a) touch sensitive for piano, and b) has a wide variety of organ tones. I'm trying to stay under $200 for a used keyboard, but I could go higher. My question is which Casio keyboard(s) is best for my purposes? I've seen many WK-200s out there, and it seems like a good one for me, but I'm not sure how it compares to other models given my criteria. I don't want an instrument for beginners, but also don't want to spend a ton at this time. Thanks.
  10. Hello, How are you? I share with you some samples created with the CASIO XW-G1 after a long period of inactivity in this forum. The use of the XW-G1 is different from everything known and that makes it special. The XW-G1 really is a beast disguised as a foolish sheep. It offers an infinity of wonderful things. It is a jewel in the world of synthesizers and electronic music. Greetings and have a good day. Thank you. 80 A ring tone lo-fi Future PUM BUM yeeeeaa The banjo of the beast The cheerful machine The Walker The wandering whistle Tranquility
  11. Orchestral Piece done entirely on the CASIO WK-1350. When Mike Martin listened to this, he could hardly believe that the WK-1350 was capable of such a thing! How many of YOU , in "Casio-Land" also like to do "orchestral" on YOUR Casio Keyboard of choice? Let us HEAR you!
  12. I own a digital keyboard of CASIO. It is having 17 sets of percussion instruments. Now the problem is when I create a midi drum pattern, it is played by the first set, i.e. , Standard Set 1(It has all sounds of GM). But if I have to play it according to another set ( Ethnic set or Indian set) , is it possible? I believe there is some roll of bank set , is there?
  13. Hi I just wondering if a device is available that connects to midi out that can display the transpose settings for my CDP130 when I change them on the keyboard. I know that this feature is usually on higher priced models. I have considered connecting my Korg midi controller to midi in to control it as this has an led display that shows the transpose setting. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks Stuart
  14. So, the Yamaha Tyros is sold, and it's now time for something else to play on until i have enough money for the Yamaha Genos. Now, in Holland they sell the MZ-X500 for roughly 700 euro's BUT! In Germany i can get the MZ-X300 for about 400 euro's LESS. So that is a lot of money.. So i'm wondering, what exactly are the differences between the MZ-X300 and 500? 200 less tones (Because of the missing Hex Layer feature?) 128MB sample ram instead of 256MB ? 4 non-velocity sensetive pads instead of 16 velocity sensetive pads Less rythms (But you can probably load the X-500 rythms in there anyways..) Different colour. Anything else i'm missing here? I mean, 300 bucks for one of the best casio's out there (The other one being the X500) Is a steal.
  15. Not many synthesizers have a typical character to their sound, Yamaha's sounds too polished, Korg is too live, Roland is a very punchy but forgettable sound, but Casio's have a certain character, they never sound too live or too polished, but they do cut through a mix and have a certain, something that really adds up for that Casio sound.. You know what i mean? The Casio piano sounds from the 90s were terrible, the CTK-731 had a pretty bad plastic piano sound compared to the Yamaha's from that time period (PSR-7000/8000/9000 even had the LIVE! Grand Piano) BUT! I still enjoyed that piano sound more than i did the newer sounds with longer samples and stuff.. Drumwise, it's the same deal. Sure, my Tyros has fantastic sounding drums, but they don't stand up in a mix, they lack a certain punch, whils't even the WK-1800 drums i had (Especially the Power kit) Had incredible punch, the sound in terms of realism was meh (Although i love the toms!) But in terms of dynamics the Tyros drums didn't stand a chance. And even the toy keyboards sound really puncy and thick and dare i say? Fresh, compared to the Yamaha toy keyboards from the same time period.. The Casio SA range had a (i think) Very impressive piano sound, and a beautiful (Yes, i really love that sound) Church organ, and compared to the Yamaha's it was like night and day. What is it exactly that typical Casio character? Is it in the way they sample their sounds? (And please, can someone explain, HOW does the sampling of sounds for a keyboard work?) Because what i also hear a lot when i compare for example the Sweet! Tenor Sax from my Tyros to the BreathyTSax in the WK-3000 is that, the Yamaha sound is much nicer to the ear, better looppoints, and it's a more overall polished sound, but the Casio sound is more "In your face" And sounds really much more realistic despite the lack of the player's vibrato, how does that work? I think that this makes an interesting topic..
  16. So, i was thinking about some things today while playing my old beaten up Tyros (Buttons that are very hard to press, screen is broken, but it still plays great) And i was wondering what it is that makes Casio so far behind with technology? - The styles are pretty bland, 15 years ago their styles sounded lifeless and it seems that it hasn't changed, what's up with that? They could've atleast try to spice them up, right? - Only since 2 years we get 4 variations on a Casio (With the exception of the MZ-2000 but that was already 18 years ago and rumor has it that the machine was developed with Roland) - We get Versatile tones, super awesome! But again, this is almost ancient technology, first machine to have that was the Yamaha Tyros, and that came out in 2002.. - We now get a brand new sound engine which finally seems to allow saxophones to have natural vibrato and flutes to have an overblown effect when you press a key hard.. However, that was introduced by Yamaha in 1997 in their Sweet! Voices. That's 21 years old.. - Velocitylayered drums.. Sorry but i had a Technics KN2000 which already had that. 2 To be precise. And that machine came out in 1993. I can list a couple of other things (Touchscreen, Roland used that in 2005 in the G-70, polyphony of 128? PSR-9000 Springs to mind, that was 1999) BUt i think i've made my point.. I love Casio to death, i really really do! Don't get me wrong. And if the CT-X5000 is really going to sound even better than the CT-X700 then i will buy it as a replacement for my Tyros. But WHY o WHY are they so far behind? I mean, the technology i'm talking about is what 15-20 years old roughly, so why is it so hard for Casio to implement it in to their machines? Why is it so hard for them to catch up with their competitors, is it because they don't want to, or because the can't? Not bashing Casio (my main axe for 3 years was a CTK-731 and until last November i played a WK-1800) But, this is something that has been bothering me for quite some time. Can someone explain/elaborate ? Thanks!
  17. This guy is one of the biggest Casio keyboard collectors out there, he made a whole series about the MZ-2000 including talking about the construction! This was really awesome, i happen to know Kris from way back, around the time his first YouTube video's got online (KN-2000 review, stuff like that) And the way he treast arrangers is really cool! He knows how to get them to the limit! He also made a Michael Jackson style on the Casio WK-7600 and some wave-sequenceing kinda stuff! I don't have the timestamps, but this guy knows how to create styles!!! So just watch the complete video This guy really knows how to get keyboards sound like the brands intended them to sound, you know what i mean? The way those styles sound are like there's a live band playing, who needs a $5000 Genos when an $400 Casio can sound almost as good in the right hands?! (The only thing i dislike about his playing is the constant glissando's and scales he tends to do, but other than that he's really in a league of his own, not even joking, he's a beast!) He recently stopped doing all the Casio stuff and now is a Williams sponsored (or so he says he is) Musician and seems to pick up onKorg more, but i was hoping that he'd get in touch with the PX-5s for some reason! How many people on the forum know him/talk to him/are subscribed to his channel?
  18. Well, we know that Casio has shown us a new range of products. The CT-X line of keyboards consisting of the CT-X700/800/3000/5000 The cheapest will cost around 179 dollars if i'm correct, and that will feature 48 notes of polyphony, a 12 watt speaker system, +- 200 styles and +- 600 sounds. The most expensive one will cost about 400 dollars, which is pretty darn cheap if you ask me. 64 notes of polyphony. 30 watt speaker system. +- 240 styles and +- 800 sounds, and 4! Variations per style. The best part?! They've introduced a new sound engine called the AiX, and if you listen to the CT-X700 you'll get blown away! It has better soundquality than the PSR-E series (That start at 150 dollars i believe) And better polyphony. My imagination is that (we haven't heard it yet unfortunately) The CT-X5000 will sound even BETTER! And yes, the guitars will now have velocity switched noises like slides and things like harmonics, that's impressive. There are 3 things that i don't like about this (Or maybe my expectations were to high because of the MZ-X range) - No touchscreen (The UI on the MZ-X looks fantastic) - No matter how hard Casio tries they just can't hold a candle to the Sweet! Voices on the Yamaha's (And that's 22 year old technology) - Still that weird box-styled keybed, how hard can it be to go back to proper style keybeds that don't rattle or clang? I'm hoping that this topic will go to a proper spot (If this isn't the correct one) And that we can have nice discussions about the machines, and i'm sure we will! Because let's be honest, Casio have really REALLY outdone themselves this time in a budget range of keyboards!
  19. Hi everyone i have casio XW-P1, is there any chance to put new sounds in it? if it possible, how can i do that?
  20. I am new to this forum. I am looking to buy a Casio keyboard for my daughter (beginner pianist). I found a Casio Privia PX-120 at a reasonable price. The person says that it was purchased last year. Looks to be in mint condition. I am searching all over the web and cannot seem to find any recent info or discussions on this model. Everything dates back to 2008.... Not sure how new or how good this model is. The color of the keyboard is a slate grey. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks. Jeff
  21. Hi. My first test of CASIO CT-670, my the newest asset, heh. The song's name is "Mikromusikwerk 01". I left the original sound, just added some multitracking for various volume levels (which are not present on the machine itself). The sequencer was ATARI 520ST. Greetings.
  22. When I connect my Piano CDP-120 with usb cable type a-b my computer read it but I can't use my piano with LMMS (The software I have installed)... My first question is: Which is the driver download for CDP-120 for Windows 10? My second question is: Can I use LMMS or I have to install other software?
