  4. Hello to the forum! I'm new and happy user of this awesome Casio Privia PX-5S digital piano, yet during my analysis of instruction and following its steps on instrument I found a probable malfunction. I hope it's treatable without servicing, that's why I first ask for your help. What's the problem? It looks like my USB port (numered in basic instruction as 48, that on the front, not 49 on the back) don't see or recognize any drive I'm plugging in. What I do is entering some usb stick (I tried ADATA S102 32GB USB 3.0 and memory of my MP3 player which I offen use as a pendrive: Creative MuVo TX 512mb ), and waiting for response. 30 seconds are passing, 1 minute is passing and there is none, no "Mounting media" information, no "reading" or something like that. Pressing, or holding longer Audio Recorder button gives me "Error / No Media / Press Exit" response. As instruction goes, both drivers were formated on my computer to FAT32 system by full, not shortened format function. What is interesting memory sticks signalize their connection, problem exist by the side of casio. I don't know how to check version of my instrument's OS, and fear that without USB connection won't be able to update it. If anything, I have that square USB type B cable to input to the back of the casio. Any ideas?
  5. Hello all, I am new to this forum, and have been searching around for someone with more experience with Casio CZ-101 troubles. Have had this synth for quite a few years, and I love it so much! I finally got around to doing some updates, like a backlit LCD. Then I moved on to building a 64 patch memory card, which is mentioned in the article down this page: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=59847 I have it constructed, only using 1k ohm resistors in the place of the 390 ohms, just because I had them on hand. I have made sure it is all connected properly and there is continuity between the cartridge pins in the Casio and the card. Whenever the card is connected to the synth, and I power it up, there is just a row of boxes on the LCD top row, and many of the LED's are lit up, but no functions are available on the keyboard. If I turn it off and remove the cartridge, everything works fine again. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone here has experienced this with a CZ... as I noticed one person on another forum stating they had this problem before, but did not mention ram cartridges or any solutions. If anyone has more understanding here, would the current limiting of the higher value resistors cause the card to be unusable, or is there a deeper problem with the cartridge circuitry within the keyboard itself? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Pat(Spivkurl)
  6. Hello, I have recently bought the CTK - 2400 model online and it just game and I noticed there isn't a MIDI in attached to the keyboard, only a Input in, I was trying to hook it up to the computer in order to use fl studio, How would I hook this up? what cords do I need to buy? let me know asap! thanks!
  7. Hello As many of you would know, the XW-P1 hex layer feature is a great thing. Hear is an improv track I made using a super dirty hex layer+DSP setting. Love that Casio.
  8. Hi everyone! I need your help because I'm not able to set the PX5s as I want. Basically, in my Yamaha Motif's SONG I have programmed 3 channels in which the channel 2 is totally played by my Motif, the channel 1 is totally played by PX5s and channel 3 is layered with channel 1 on the PX5s but I would like that the CH 3 is enabled when I increase the slider number 1. I think that it's possible, but how can I do it? Thanks! Francesco
  9. Picked up another HT6000 last night. At the price it went for on Ebay it was too good a deal to miss. It was probably cheaper buying this than getting my other (dead) HT6000 fixed! Appears to be fully working, battery cover present and battery compartment is as clean as a whistle. Now I have three HT6000's, two working, and one not (spares?!). This should keep me going for a few more years
  10. I am toying around with the presets on my Privia PX-5S and I want to save a certain set up of sounds for a gig that I am playing. Luckily the show is in January so I have time to not know what I'm doing at the moment. I have a Synth sound with Strings layered with it. I want to somehow save that sound so I can switch between that and a normal piano setting while playing live. Is that possible with this keyboard? Any help with this would be awesome so I don't have to type in what I want before each song! Thanks!
  11. I just got my new Privia PX-5S today and am currently trying to set it up. I have all the cables in place. All that is missing is SOUND. I've been going through the owners manual to try to find the answer but am unable to find one. I didn't know if there were built in speakers that just aren't working? I've even plugged in M-AUDIO studio speakers and there is still no sound. I've tried playing the piano while adjusting the knobs, yet, still no sound. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks! -Clint

  15. I have a student who purchased a PX-130 digital keyboard a number of years ago. She was playing around with the feature that shifts the sound of the keyboard up either 1 or 2 octaves, and now it is "stuck" sounding 2 octaves higher. I have tried following the directions in the manual, but nothing is working. With the level of music she is playing now, she really needs the keyboard to play in the correct octave, as it was originally...help! Has anyone else ever encountered this problem?
  16. This question little silly but i need to clear on this... i purchased ctk 245 but i can't attach with Fl Studio Because it don't have USB option But Can i Add USB Option to this piano if can Than Please share your thoughts/...... Thanks in advance
  17. Please i need help can anyone tell how to save a custom stage setting and then load it.
  18. Alright I have a question that might be stupid but it's stumping me and figure someone on here might be able to help. I have a Casio XWP1, it's about two years old now, and I was wanting to hook up a midi foot controller to it to be able to switch between patches/tones. What are all the things that need to be enabled on the keyboard for it to recognize the controller and do I need to move my tones into the performance function for it to be able to switch between them. I've been looking specifically at the behringer fcb1010 if anyone already uses one and could even help with the controller set-up.
  19. "Another original music composition ("Adrianna Groove") showing off the power of the Casio XW-P1. This is ONE take, so still sticking to my "play live" attitude. (ok ok, the perfect is the evil of the good, so there is one little blip), but this is just sitting down and playing...the way music should be it seems to me, at least whenever possible....but must admit that I like the better quality computer recording (even on one channel)...Oh well. The pads and filters are totally on the XWP1, while at the same time I am controlling (2) other synths simultaneously via midi. The piano you hear is a layered Casio and EX5R piano, plus EX5R created arps, with the drums and strange industrial timing sounds being triggered to the Miniak....all played LIVE in ONE take....on ONE channel on ONE Keyboard. Basically mix on the hardware FIRST...then just play and record all at once. The P1 keys are quick, so my 88 key style is harsh to say the least...(classically trained trumpet fingers). All sounds modified/created by myself (except for the piano of course.) This song blends tons of genres together, and has typical corporate bs structure....oh well. For the money, this XW-P1 is a real pro sounding power monster, IMHO, and CAN compete against the high dollar big boys, especially in LIVE situations. Thanks Tune is for my niece......Adri"
  20. So I recorded myself playing my casio priva px5s and i go trough all the steps to play it back but its silent. I took the usb drive to my pc but the wave file plays back silent there too. My usb drive is formatted corectely i dont know whats wrong.
  21. Has anyone had any luck building some good ambient stage settings on the PX-5S? I'm trying to write in the vein of Sigur Ros, Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Tycho, etc., and I would really like to build some cool ambient stage settings. Anybody have one they can share, or have any tips on building my own?
