  1. Hi all, I'm new to the Casio family with my new (to me) Privia PX-760. I'm teaching my daughter how to play on this amazing instrument, but one small problem. She is really tiny and can't reach the pedals. She's finally learning Moonlight Sonata 1st movement and it just doesn't sound right without Sustain, and she just can't reach the Pedal. If I permanently move the built in pedals higher up then I won't be able to play. Rather than creating a complicated mechanism for quick adjusting the Pedal height, has anyone tried splicing in a cheap stand alone Sustain pedal into the built-in harness? That way I can just place it on a stool for her to play, move it when I play. Does anyone know the pinout? Can the pedals be run in series or parallel or do they need to be switched back and forth? I figured I'd ask on here before I go messing around with my multimeter, curious if anyone has tried it and if there is any drawback to doing this. If not, I guess I'll try it and post on here about how it goes.
  2. Here's my latest video unboxing and playing the Privia PX-S7000. I really enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, making music on this one. In fact I loved the keybed action so much that I decided to use it as a MIDI controller in my studio cuz it's slim and fits perfectly in front of my desk, with its own integrated, STURDY stand! And those additional piano sounds are gorgeous. Hamburg Grand is by far my favorite!
  3. Hey everyone. Due to some technical difficulties we had to reschedule. Our live event is now scheduled for 9/22 at 1pm EST. You can join us here on the Casio site or directly on Youtube Joining us in the event - interview some of our stars including actress and singer-songwriter Alicia Witt, Steve Weingart, Leon Thomasian and Christian Matthew Cullen. We'll be taking questions live as well.
  4. Hello Casio friends, I’m so excited to share this video with you as I unbox and play one of Casio’s latest Privia models PS-X6000! This thing is on a different level FIRST IMPRESSIONS I love the minimalist aesthetics and combination of wooden look with sleek and modern design. The keybed adjusted to my playing while I utilize different techniques on it. It’s quick and super responsive! Love the wooden look on the keys. One of my favorite features is the touch wheel, as it also works as arrow buttons. Love the Privia Grand sound as you hear me playing it in this video, but I plan on doing more demos as it has some of the best EP sounds I’ve heard.
  5. Hello friends, Hope everyone is having a musically wonderful day. I received the Casio Privia PX-S3100 recently and decided to do an unboxing and demo video. Been really enjoying it so far and it has amazing quality speakers with a beautiful piano tone. I will be digging deeper into its features and other sounds and make more videos about it. Hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful. Sincerely, Leon
  6. I'M REALLY HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT. Okay, so, I bought an instrument called a laser harp. This thing shoots out lasers, and when you place your hand over the lasers you can play notes. The laser harp itself does not have speakers and cannot be "played" as an instrument... it needs to be connected either to a DAW or to a Midi controller. I connected the Midi Out of my laser harp to the Midi In of my Casio Privia PX-350M. When I turn everything on, I've ONLY been able to get the Casio to produce the sound of a piano. If I change the sound to, let's say, strings, the sound of strings will happen when I actually press the keys and play the keyboard with Local Control on... but the sound controlled by the laser harp is ONLY piano. I figured out how to turn Local Control "off", which is a good first step. But this dang thing still only plays "piano". I guess I need someone to tell me how to assign a different sound (such as strings) to Midi. I understand that I need to hit the "Function" button and then scroll thru to "Midi".... but at that point, I am lost. I've spent three straight days trying to figure this out and I'm going bonkers. If anyone can figure this out, I will be forever grateful!!!
  7. Dear Casio community, I would like to share my Casio experience in Australia. I have a 15 years old PX-100 and I need a new PCB and hammer felts 🔨. It have the well-known clicky-clanky action due to tappered felts and sometime it has a long delay (>5s) start-up (perhaps due to a failing electronic component e.g. chopper regulator). Shriro Australia Pty. Ltd. is the official Casio support representative in Australia. They did not respond to my email regarding spare parts enquiry for my PX-100 for weeks. Maybe they are just that slow 🐌, , lack of staff, unable to locate the service manual PDF or simply L.A.Z.Y. For curiousity, I decided to give them a call. I was so surprised that they said only selling power adapters, power cables 🔌 and music rests as per their website: https://casioservice.shriro.com.au/collections/electronic-musical-instrument-spares - They also refused to recommend/sell any alternative parts. Instead, they referred me to an authorised repair shop located almost 60kms distance from Sydney CBD. This particular shop were not interested in selling parts and agitated to help. Basically, he stated a clear message that I am on my own. I was giving up dealing with Casio and their repair shops. I was thinking might be better to go to Bunnings (a hardware store) to get some felt tapes for DIY solution. Regarding the failing PCB, I will enjoy the Privia until it will not turn on or maybe getting a second hand parts from eBay. And about the clicky-clanky action, I was reading an article of someone used a Yamaha Clavinova felts and I did it. Contacted Yamaha, ordered the parts and arrived in my door step within a week. After a felt replacement, the action is as quiet as the Clavinovas 🎹 . If you have second thought about this and your Privia is out of warranty, don't hesistate to do it. As much as I love Casio's price & quality ratio and this great community forum, sadly this PX-100 will be my last Casio experience. I am withdrawing my intention to buy an award winning PX-5S pro keyboard for my home studio and/or live rig. Music lovers usually will keep their beloved digital pianos for a minimum of 5 years and we will do our best to perform any simple repair, like myself. Ask yourself what would you do if your Privia or Grand Hybrid need a maintenance repair after 5 years and your local Casio responded 'We no longer have parts'? Yamaha and Roland stocked older parts and selling parts to myself. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Casio digital pianos to a friend or relative, until I can buy genuine spare parts directly from Casio and being helpful assisting older model owners. Please share your Casio support experience in your country. I would love to hear it. Happy weekend and keep playing with anything.
  8. Hey everyone, good morning. I wish that I could insert some sustain in all the tones (specially Pianos) whitout use a expression or sustain pedal. I tried everyrhing, but no success, its possible do that with knobs or someway else? (Using Priva PX 3000) Thanks in advance
  9. Hello, I just got a Privia PX-5S. I'm extremely excited to start gigging with it and have some studio sessions coming up I'm planning on using it in. I'm loving the Privia so far but having quite an annoying issue with it. I'm sure I just don't understand how to use it fully but I have exhausted youtube tutorials and the manual. On start up, no matter the stage setting, every zone has a pitch LFO on it. I go to the settings, and turn it off. (it's always set at .8 ) and everything works fine. But if I move to a new stage setting, restart the keyboard, or accidentally press the wrong button. All of the sudden the LFO is back and I have to go back into the GUI to disable it. Surely there is a setting I am not seeing, or somekind of user error. But either way it's extremely frustrating, I can't have an LFO messing with my tuning while recording, and it just sounds off trying to play along with anything. Has anyone else encountered this? What can I do to stop this from being the default setting? I have already tried doing a factory reset, it did not change anything. This is my first post on this forum. Apologies if I have posted the wrong place or broken any rules. I appreciate any input. Thank you.
  10. Hey, I was wondering if you can programm different chords to any key on the Privia-PX5s. e.g while playing a complex melody with the right hand and complex chords with the left, which are too „big“ for one hand. So it would be very helpful to just push one note and get the full chord. Thank you for your help
  11. I improvised this piano music on my Casio Privia PX-555R line-feeding into my Tascam DR-40 recorder.
  12. Hi. I have some sound problems with my Casio and I dont know how to reset. Can you help me with that information pls?
  13. We have had a privia 160 for around a year and a half and after a long period of storage we plugged it in and discovered that there were dead keys. After we had vaccumed the piano out, one key improved to the point that it would sound if you hit it hard. I'm betting that the contacts need to be cleaned but I'm not sure how to get to the keys from the top of the unit. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Suddenly during practice E5 just dropped from the normal level and never return. Some censors might also be disconnected, causing sound-related problem, too. Wonder if anyone has experienced similar problems, and can perhaps advise IMG_0575.MOV on DIY fixing. - Is new part or replacement required? Any particular name or reference of product no? - If not, what is the potential component failure? Any work-around or resolution? Thank you so much.
  15. Got the problem with newly purchased PX-780. Brilliance, chorus and auto harmony don't seem to work. anybody had the same issue? Bought it from Costco with 200 CAD price reduction? Maybe that is the reason? Maybe that particular item was discounted just because did not meet quality criteria. A bug for your thoughts pianists! 😊
  16. Hello everybody, I would like to be able to switch my PX5s patches and stage settings from Mainstage. In order to do this, I connect my Macbook to my PX5s with a usb cable, then I create a new channel strip in Mainstage and select "external instruments". I select "CASIO USB MIDI" as midi output device, channel "1-16", and click "create". Having done that, if I try to change the "program change" value, nothing happens on my Casio. PX5s is supposed to be a strong midi controller, so I guess I'm doing something wrong. Can anybody hel me? Thanks a lot in advice.
  17. I have a 10-year old Casio Privia electronic piano with a USB midi out. Can it work with a windows 10 computer? If so what downloads are required? Can programs like Audacity work with a midi USB cable from the Privia?
  18. Hi, I recently bought a used PRIVIA PX 110 and decided it was a good idea to use bleach and a scrub to clean the keys (it wasn't a good idea). Anyway, the keys are all sparkly and white now but now MOST of the keys on the keyboard do not make a sound. Everything else is fine, such as the effects and tones. I concluded that bleach went through the keys and on to the circuit board, so I took it apart and wiped down the circuit board with isopropyl alcohol. That didn't work either. I was convinced that the problem was the circuit board for the keys but there was no evidence of corroded areas which leads me to think otherwise. Still, I was able to find a replacement part from a CDP 100 keyboard. Now, my question is, do you think that putting in a circuit board from the CDP 100 (working already) will fix the issue of my Privia px 110? I know that they use the same circuit board but due to the good PHYSICAL condition of my current circuit board, I'm starting to think that the problem lies deeper within bleach seeping to the circuit board and ultimately lies within the more inner workings of the keyboard. The circuit board from the CDP 100 isn't bought yet, and I won't be able to return if I do buy it, which is why I'm hesitant.
  19. I am new to this forum. I am looking to buy a Casio keyboard for my daughter (beginner pianist). I found a Casio Privia PX-120 at a reasonable price. The person says that it was purchased last year. Looks to be in mint condition. I am searching all over the web and cannot seem to find any recent info or discussions on this model. Everything dates back to 2008.... Not sure how new or how good this model is. The color of the keyboard is a slate grey. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks. Jeff
  20. Hello Casio Community! I have a px-350x casio privia, which I thought would be close enough to be on the 360 forum. I was wondering whether my piano has a tone making feature. I have looked through the manual, but it is unclear. Please respond, A Casio customer.
  21. I've really enjoyed the demo songs on this piano, sometimes I would let it run for hours as background music. But I'm ready for a new playlist. Is there any way to load new MIDI songs onto this keyboard? I would love to have a bunch of Jazz standards to listen to--especially since I've started to learn Jazz piano.
  22. Can anyone pls explain how to repeat a song in my casio privia px-150 music library. For example automatically playingback repeatedly song 21 instead of it changing to another song
  23. Hello everyone. Can someone please explain how to convert yamaha sty files to casio MIDI for my Casio Privia PX-150?
