  1. File Name: Volume zone control File Submitter: LukeM File Submitted: 11 Sep 2013 File Category: XW-G1 This is simply just a performance which lets you control each zone volume control with each knob. I Didn't Put alot of effort into the sound as you can easily change it to your needs. Enjoy. Click here to download this file
  2. Here is something I did using the XW-G1 but the same thing could be done using a XW-P1. Nothing is pre-recorded. This is all done live using the Step Sequencer and the Phrase Recorder. Also utilizing the iPad apps NAVE and iMS-20.

I love brasses they give such a full range of harmonic color I had to try it out I was thinking. Count bassie, Don Ray , Duke ellington, Grover Washington Jr. So here it is a sort of brass-hit, Softbrass I've eq't for a softer edge,CitybrassXl is louder ive added delay effect I've discoverd that you can create an effect specific within performance mode patch you create that cool. So it is more like a brass hit you can alter each instruments ,octave shift ,transpose and effect to change how it sounds. Enjoy. I've edited them again today new upload deleted the other changed the step sequence same stuff different beat added a third.

Performance mode patch kinda my favorite you can use k1 to k3 knobs for personal preference, Mine preference Cutoff 45, Release 22, Chorus 45. The main global effect changes the sound color but I noticed it can add texture which you like from an EP. I also like to have the Hold button with it.

I also like to have the Hold button with it, it gives the EP a nice ambiance different then say a longer release which gives more of a long flat after sound. The hold button is the strangest thing but a nice one LOL made an mistake you can find it in the download section of this forum .

It is so easy to be inspired by the Minimoog. Such as classic design and sound that is still sought after today. While being a digital synthesizer, the XW-series can do a pretty remarkable job of mimicking those classic Moog sounds. The Minimoog had 3 oscillators plus a noise generator and although the XW has a 4th oscillator in its Solo Synth engine - all of these sounds were crafted with the original in mind. A set of 10 Leads and basses, the specialties of the Minimoog. Separate versions above for the XW-P1 and XW-G1. Note that by design, some of the bass sounds will only function in the bottom three octaves of the keyboard. http://youtu.be/8XG5zQ9_lw8

  12. I come across music with such an interesting composition which I want to recreate on my own with whatever I have in this case the XW-G1. This composition help me to find out if the G1 alone would be capable giving such an interesting vibe of what song I've heard to be recreated on it. I've watched the latest Fast and Furious movie where there was this scene half way the movie the music started with a crunchy distort organ with a slight delay followed by a pounding beat. Did not exactly made it as in the movie but recreating something with only the G1 capability's was lots of fun and potential I used the looper for the drums , organ ,guitar riff which I recorded as layers. The bass drum where in lo-fi dsp setting, the organ came from a standard performance called dist organ which I modified a little. I have not made it in a performance mode yet. The effects are great I wish that part was expanded greatly to fine tune each sound patch how you like i'm still discovering . Enjoy. Get Ready.MP3
  13. What Pedals work with the XW-seriesCasio SP-20 Casio SP-3R Pedals from Kurzweil and Korg also work as well as the switchable M-Audio, Roland and Yamaha will not. Can I used the Solo Synth and Hex Layers, or Drawbar organs at the same timeNo, only one of them can be used at a time on Zone 1.

  21. So I hinted at this a little while ago, it is a little closer to being real. I'm still going to be vague for a little about it because we're still working with the app developer but this completely changes the XW's Solo Synth in my opinion. The types of sounds you can get in just moments and in real-time is quite remarkable, so this is both a performance and editing tool for the Solo Synth. It also gives the XW-P1 the ability to manipulate the the Solo Synth the way the XW-G1 does and more. It works identically on the XW-G1. More details asap.
  22. I'm far from mastering my XW-G1, and I'm not a keyboard musician. Just cooked something here and wanted to share with you. All done in step sequencing, with addition of a few notes added during "performance/recording" into two channels of Reaper, with TASCAM US-1641 interface: Hephaestus's little tricks Warning! Very dark
  23. Hi everybody! How do you connect your iPad to XW (XW-G1 in my case) via USB? I'm following the manual, but after recommended steps nothing happens on either end. I have Garage Band app installed on my iPad Retina, to start with, and I just don't know where and what and how. I have sound via audio out to mic, or instrument, or line. Please, if you have a successful experience with this, share it with me. Thank you for your help!
  24. Hello everybody! I'm glad that I found this forum. I just got my new XW-G1 a few days ago. I'm mostly a guitar player, and I want to learn to use this keyboard -- to compose and perform backing rhythm tracks for my songs. I'm trying to learn to use it, and I found the manual is difficult to follow. I watched a couple of video tutorials (which are helpful) on this synth, and the rest are XW-P1 oriented. For some reason XW-P1 more popular. I wonder why .... I know almost nothing about synths, so I expect some learning curve. For some reason I can't grasp the concept of "zones". Would anybody, please advise me for a better way to learn to use this keyboard. Thank you for your help!
  25. I recently purchased a Casio XW-G1 and I'm trying to determine if samples recorded using the microphone input can be assigned to the keyboard and played back at various pitches using the keys...you know, like sampling a dog bark, and then having the barking dog sing Jingle Bells. If any one knows if and how this can be done, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help! Jim
