  1. I have just created a audio track by using Casio CT-X5000, MZ-X500, PX-5S, XW-G1 and other models that are Pa4X and Genos. All the Tones and Rhythms are played by using Casio keyboards. Then I put all the things in daw and remixed and mastered it to make the sound experience bit high as much as possible. Now, Kick is used by Pa4X and MZ-X's Dance Kick which is also used in Old 1st gen Electropop rhythm. Marimba tone is used by Genos and rest all the things are played and selected by Casio Keyboards. Like, Rhythm is fully played by MZ-X500 Plucks are selected from CT-X5000 Pads are Played from XW-G1 And Last but not the least... Piano is played from PX-5S... Also, Vocals are selected and played from MZ-X500 All the functions are one-by-one recorded on MZ-X500 by connect the keyboard one-by-one via Insert In Stereo Terminals... As Wave is more pure then MP3, that's why MZ-X did a best job on every recording scenario. And my personal experience of recording on MZ-X500 is better the even Pa4X or Genos! After recording all the things I got 93 TAKES of wave file, and I puts it on the daw then remixed and mastered it. And here is the final result: This the the link of the video Also, Please Subscribe the channel and Like the video. 🙂
  2. Is there any function in CASIO MZ-X500 like Left Hold in YAMAHA PSR 2000 etc..

So, it takes me a week to make these tones for MZ-X. Here, in tones, I took samples from many of the keyboards. That is Genos, Nautilus, Fantom 6, CT-K7200 and the MZ-X itself..., and created a one sample by combining or layering almost 10+ samples. I controlled the volume and each functions for make it safe from distortion and clip. Here are the tones, what I created for MZ-X500. Let me comment for any suggestions. Please let me know for progress. I'm creating more tones for MZ-X500, so I'll get better help and experience for creation. If you want to add or improve something by editing let me know by comment, I'll update it's version. 😊 There are two files 1. Epic Strings 2. Epic Lead

  5. My MZ-X500 does send Midi Program Change data while I´m changing Registration. How do I deactivate this? I´d like to send Midi Key On Off and CC-Messages, because I want to use the MZs keybed to play sound on my ipad. So I need the Midi Out Signal. - Parallel to that I want to use the MZ as stand-alone Keyboard for several Sounds and as BackUp-system, if something in my external Midi-Setup chrashes.
  6. Hey guys, I have loaded some user samples into my MZ-X500 lately. I noticed some sound changes between the WAV file and the ZTN playback in the MZ-X500. Especially with Saw-Waves and Brass Ensebles the ZTN sounds are thinner and spikier. I import the wave files with 40.1 kHz, as it is written in the manual of the SampleManager. How can I ensure a better fidelity from WAV to ZTN?

Hi, it´s bimfood again 😅 - I´d like to share one of my selfmade tones - based on a choir sample. Sounds a bit fairlighdish. Have fun. Maybe the Sample Volume is much to loud. So be carefull with that. Also the Loop Points didn´t get the phase-walkthrough 100% accurate, so you will hear a little bit of crackling in the background. Fairlighdish Choir.ztn

Hey guys, I´d like to share one of my Accordion Hex Layer Sounds. It is a French Style or German Polka Musette Sound. It is based on MZ-X500 internal Samples. Layer 1+2 - Sample No. 144 - French Accordion, detuned and paned Layer 3 - Sample No. 151 - Bandoneon - to put some sharp edges on top. - - Use Slider 3 Layer 4+5 - Square Waves, detuned, envelope detuned and paned - to give more fat to the sound Layer 6 - Sample No. 309 - Pipe Lead - just to add some dust in the Background Put some Reverb to it - I prefer a small room, with some pre delay Put some Delay to it - I prefer a short stereo one Feel free to use and have fun. Open for feedback! bim food AKKORDEO.ZLT
  9. Just browsed thru the owner's manuals on the MZ-X500 and did not find a way to delete user loaded tones from the onboard memory of the keyboard. Maybe I am missing something here but was deleting items from the onboard memory not thought about. I loaded a tone on the MZ-X500 under the wrong category and wanted to delete it and put it under the proper instrument category and found no such facility to do so beyond hard resetting the memory to factory default of the unit. Am I missing something here?
  10. Just purchased a MZ-X500. Was excited to own one but had concerns due to some of the problems reported here. Since I also own a Privia PX-560M and it's been flawless for my purposes, I decided to give it a go. The unit I recieved isn't very bad but not up to the expectations formed by the PX-560 ownership experience. The screen has two issues. The left side of the screen has a more yellow tint than the right side. This is not a huge deal for me. The bigger problem is it would appear that the touch screen doesn't work as well as the one on my PX-560. Sometimes, I feel I need to press items more than once to get those touches to register and I don't know if I'm hitting the sweet spot for some touches to register. It could be a system response issue or a calibration issue. Before I set the machinery in place to return this unit, I would like to try to recalibrate it. The facilities to do so exists for the PX-560 but I don't know how to do that on the MZ-X500. I know about the other topic on this subject but I didn't want to piggyback on someone else's problem since my circumstances are not identical. Also, the relevant information that would actually help was removed from the post. Any insights on trying the calibration would be appreciated. I already know I can send it in for repair or return it. Exchanging it could just get me another unit with similar or worse issues than the one I have now. If send it anywhere, I probably will sent it back to the seller and swap it out for a Yamaha. I'd rather keep the MZ-X500 but I don't feel like playing keyboard lotto and shipping games. Also, I prefer not to return an item if there is a simple adjustment that can be made to the device or its use.

Hi, here are some MZ-X500 rhythms converted from various Yamaha arrangers styles. I own an MZ-X500 and the conversion has been entirely made using the internal instrument's tools without using a PC. I've revoiced wrong instruments, adjusted volumes, re-mapped wrong notes (especially in some drum tracks), and shifted many bass tracks that where too low. I've also adjusted the effects values and the panning to my own personal taste, I hope you will like them In this package you will find some 6/8 rhythms, 8 Beat rhythms and 1 16/8 Ballad for a total of 18 rhythms. Have fun!
  12. I got really tired of searching through 5 different manuals when trying to look up something, so I concatenated them into one PDF file. You can search all 5 files at once. ;-) Combined Manuals Included: Web_MZX500_300-ES-1A_EN.pdf (USERS GUIDE BASICS) Web_MZX500_300-E-2A_EN.pdf (USERS GUIDE TUTORIAL) Web_MZX500APPEND-140-WL-1A_EN.pdf (APPENDIX) MZX_midi_imple_EN.pdf (MIDI IMPLEMENTATION) Web_MZX500_300-150-E-1A_EN.pdf (FIRMWARE VERSION 1.50 USERS GUIDE) Note: Casio has used the same page numbers across all their manuals, so for example you will find two EN-22 pages, one in Web_MZX500_300-ES-1A_EN.pdf and the other in Web_MZX500_300-E-2A_EN.pdf.

  17. Is there a specific earphone channel that I can play the metronome on? I got to play the metronome all the way to the right but I couldn't get two more output cables for the PA's. I even used the phone on the right output but lost the stereo output.
  18. (Admin edit: Caution! Installing this ZAL file will delete all user content in keyboard memory. Back up your keyboard to USB memory before loading this file) Installing this content file will give you instant access to even more rhythms and sounds taken from Electro, Dubstep, Hip-Hop or EDM. Installation Before installing the content please check if the firmware of your instrument is updated to version 1.50 . To add the new sounds and rhythms to your keyboard, you’ll need the downloaded installation file as well as a USB flash drive. Your MZ-X500 supports FAT32 - formatted USB drives. If your USB flash drive is formatted for use with another file system, use the Windows formatting function to format it for FAT32 (do not select Quick Format). Download the file MUSICDAT.rar and use an unraring program to unpack the file on your PC. When you have unpacked the rar file, you will have a folder named MUSICDAT containing a file named EDM5b.ZAL. Move the entire MUSICDAT folder and its contents onto the formatted USB drive. With your digital keyboard off, insert the USB flash drive into its USB port. Then turn the instrument on. Select MEDIA on the second page of the MENU screen. Select “Load All”. Select “All” and you will be given access to the EDM5b.ZAL file on the USB flash drive. Select that file and tap “Execute”. At the “Load - sure?” prompt, select “yes” and then wait until the loading process is complete (about two minutes). You can then switch the keyboard off and remove the USB drive. Now restart the instrument... and you’re all set! When you install the EDM5b.ZAL file, 8 sound and rhythm combinations showcasing the capabilities of the instrument will be stored to registry slots. Using the registry to try out a rhythm and sound combination - example Registration memory lets you store setups. You can access the first eight registry slots by simply pressing Registry buttons 1 through 8. Select Registry Slot 1. To start creating impressive sound effects immediately, hold down the Synchro button on the PAD controller and then press PADS 1 to 3, one after the other - afterwards you can let go of the Synchro button. Now start with Intro 1 on the Rhythm Controller by pressing that button; the samples on the PADS are synchronized and will play along in time. Now, for example, you can switch off PAD 2 (press it once) and play around with Variations 1-4 on the Rhythm Controller. Play around with the other PADS to try them out. The content is compatible with firmware version 1.50 (MZX500). 19. Hello: (background) I am a XWP1 and WK7600 owner for over 7 years, have gone deep into the programming of the synth and arranger. Now I just purchased a Mz-x500. I have been searching for 3 years now for a good hardware sequencer/sampler. All I found was incomplete devices. I thought the Roland JunoDS would do, no. Then the Roland FA, no. Then the 1010Music Black Box, good, but no keyboard, not really and instrument. Then the Pyramid Squarp, very powerful sequencer, but for $700 way over priced for a MIDI sequencer only. So here I have laid out lots of money on a Mz-x500 that has very little review on YouTube and the net. I read the 3 owners manuals and firmware update manuals and it seems the closest to what I need. BUT...the sampler seems very limited and I don't have any info on the mapping of samples to the keyboard for adding new voices. Is there a person on this forum deep into the sampler function? AND....did I make the right decision in buying this "arranger" more a workstation than arranger???? I am the guy on YouTube with all the XWP1 tutorials. Example of a XWP1 jam:
  20. This pertains to MZ-X500 and PX-560M as they share a very similar control interface, but possibly also other CASIO keyboards. I have an analog pedal on Pedal 2 and the pedal configured to control the Expression parameter for Upper 2 and Lower 2 from min 0 to max 127. This works quite nicely to bring in the second layers gradually. At the same time I would also like to fade out the Upper 1 and Lower 1 layers, so that at the pedal's mid point is where all layers play full. My attempt at this was to use the config "2" of the Pedal Edit to control the Expression parameter for Upper 1 and Lower 1 from min 127 to max 0. This achieves to a degree what I want, but both configurations work linear across the pedal's range, and the mid point (Expression approx. 63 on each layer) has overall lower volume than at the pedal end points where each layer has 127 or 0 expression, respectively. I can limit the range of the expression parameter to not start at 0, but that just means I can't mute the layer completely at 0 or full pedal. Is there a way to make a pedal edit to where the expression parameter stays at 127 from 0 pedal to about half way and then go linear 127 to 0 from mid-pedal to full pedal? And of course the opposite for the pedal's configuration 2? I would expect this would give the proper overall volume across the pedal's range but I can't figure out where I might be able to set this curve up. Any ideas?

  24. Hi, I'm Marty, and new at the forum. My brother Daniel is the musician, and I am the guy who speak english. We are from Argentina, and my brother, buy a MZ-X 500. We are big fans from Jean Michel. My brother used to have a Korg, and at the time he had downloaded a sample pack of Korg, which weighs 1.61gb, with sounds of Jarre. The problem is that I was looking for and there isn't (currently) converters from Korg (KSF-KSC-KMP) to Casio. We want to know what options we have to load those samples, because we no longer have the Korg. Or if not, someone have sample packs from Jean Michel Jarre's music, compatible with the MZ-X500. Thanks in advance. PS: Sorry for my bad english.
