This was the first time I used the auto rhythm, and it was soooo easy and I really enjoyed it. Also a "happy" song...
-
OK. Here's a happy song from the archives...
-
This was my second experiment with auto rhythm... My left hand in a cast motivated me to explore the auto rhythm. It really helped me a lot. Another "romantic" song... Hey, I am what I am... Besame Mucho.mp3

These are the first "covers" I recorded when I first got the awesome keyboard... Blue Moon.mp3 La Vie en Rose.mp3

Things are kind of slow and I'm not currently working on anything, so this is an early "song" of mine (piece?). Many of these early songs I revisited later with the auto rhythm, but I couldn't do anything with this one, so I left it alone. It's simple, not fancy, and you got to love those space shots... 🙂
-
This is not bad, I think... I hope you can tell the "dialogue" going on in the song... Conversation.mp3
-
This is another early "song" (not sure what it is)... You can tell how my technique is lacking, because I couldn't play the notes as fast as it should, etc., but hey, I do my best... 😀 Dance.mp3

I uploaded this one as an example of the default concert grand on the PX560. No additional tones or tracks added (clean). Took several takes to get it right in one performance. This piece is probably the peak of my abilities so it's likely all downhill from this point, Ha! Concerto Cm.mp3

Thanks for your encouragement. I truly am my worst critic, and I'm so painfully aware of my shortcomings... This is not false modesty; I know I play OK and it's all by ear, but not the way I would WANT to play... I am getting better, though, and your advice came right on time, because I have already learned a lot using the rhythms, and now I can put my learning to good use, so thanks again! "So In Love" is already up in my YouTube channel, and it's on my page www.sergiosongs.com on the "Songs I live" tab. Here's the link:

This is a jazzy piece that took me a long time to "master". Love Gershwin, hate his key choices! (5) MIDI tracks consisting of: Slow Swing rhythm on system track GrPno Concert AiR E Piano 4 Streo String 1 Velo. Clarinet Absolutely addicted to the PX-560. Not a single complaint. Does everything I need and much more. My real life job is getting in the way of my obsession, Ha. Prelude 2.mp3

This is a gorgeous piano piece that was a hit in 2001. (3) MIDI tracks: Piano + Stereo Strings (layered) Syn-Strings2 Xtreem Pad (Hex) Eternity.mp3

As proof to just how horribly old I really am check out this cartoon I made with Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising in 1931. Starring Bosko and his sweetie Honey.

Take a walk with me on the Michigan side of lake Huron while I tinkle away on the CT-390. I think Sergio could add better music to the pretty scenery, but I just can't help it, I'm not as smooth as Sergio! Hey! I just invented a new saying: "as smooth as Sergio"! Yeah! Start working that into conversations you guys!😁
-
Just a minute or so of CT-390 piano. There are 4 or 5 little piano things that I'll put in this one post I'm thinking, I'm still reviewing the tape. I took this sunrise pic of a local lake recently.

Well, I HAD to come up with a title, and "Y" is a great joke, but I don't have a powerful enough motivation to do that... So, a city visit instead.... I hope it's OK. I don't particularly like this part of the job because it's not music (making the darn video and choosing the images), but it's done.
-
I've been working on this song and I THINK it's done, except that the execution sucks and has several errors. It doesn't even have a name (suggestions?) and eventually I have to make the darn video to be uploaded to YouTube. Anyway, since we're among friends, I thought I'd share what I have (after several days of working on and off)... Comments and suggestions are welcome. y.mp3

"Las Tardes Rojas" is one of my songs with lyrics. It's in Spanish, sorry... I have others in Spanish, but I like this one the best. I hope you enjoy it. I just re-recorded it to my taste. Make sure that "CC" in enabled to see the lyrics. "Dreams and Castles" is my only song with English lyrics. m10538 - This is one of the 3 "boleros" that I'm working with that I mentioned before.

One more time I recast an older song of mine because I thought that it could be improved and this is the result. I deleted the old version from my website www.sergiosongs.com. I hope you enjoy this new version. While playing w/o accompaniment is still something I need to work on, the rhythm track helps me create melodies, etc., and that's really what I like to do. Hopefully my piano techniques will improve with time as I continue to struggle. Anyway, I like the melody but I didn't think that my prior treatment did it justice.

Checking through my files I found this song… I originally re-interpreted the melody in a different rhythm and called it “Rockies Ballad”. Listening to the original now, I kind of like it, not bad. It’s a mediocre video because back then I wasn’t paying too much attention to making them. I hope you like it. BTW, the photos are from the Canadian Rockies, and I highly recommend everyone to visit those places at some point... Awesome! My webpage: www.sergiosongs.com

Alright, now, how about Mondays? Yeah, me neither. This is just a quick passing shower of piano notes.

This song was very popular in Cuba in the 50s and 60s, interpreted by various artists. It was written by a Mexican composer (Yucatan), and the music is glorious. This is my interpretation of a song I love.

My apologies for such a rudimentary question, but I am looking to pick up a used Casio keyboard that is a) touch sensitive for piano, and b) has a wide variety of organ tones. I'm trying to stay under $200 for a used keyboard, but I could go higher. My question is which Casio keyboard(s) is best for my purposes? I've seen many WK-200s out there, and it seems like a good one for me, but I'm not sure how it compares to other models given my criteria. I don't want an instrument for beginners, but also don't want to spend a ton at this time. Thanks.

This is an older song of mine, but I wasn't happy with my interpretation at the time, so I "reinvented" it. I deleted the old version. There's a Spanish side to me (my dad was born in Malaga, Spain), although not as strong as my Cuban soul... I have another song in the "Spanish" mode, but I have to check it out and see if it's worth redoing. I hope you enjoy, feedback is always welcome (I work in a vacuum)! Sergio www.sergiosongs.com

After my trip to Cuba it looks like I had to "unload" a few songs that reside deep in my Cuban soul... I'm glad I'm returning to composing, which is what I like to do. I hope you enjoy this latest one. www.sergiosongs.com
