The idea was to create a stage setting to play "To the end of the world" by Pat Metheny Group with a background of string pads, a double bass and a piano. I hope my Master Lyle (Mays) will be kind to me... TAKE43_1.wav TAKE55_1.wav

A modified version of the built-in tone BriteStrings, that is filtered and thus has a softer timbre to it. The tone BRITESTR.ZTN was saved in slot 70 under the Strings/Brass tone-group. The stage setting MY_STRIN.ZPF also includes a GrandPianoConcert Tone on Zone 2 (Zone 1 is disabled) to play along with the strings in the phrase STRINGSC.ZPH that I have uploaded here. Jay 🎹

  5. File Name: HerbiesRoadz (Updated) File Submitter: Mike Martin File Submitted: 16 Oct 2013 File Category: PX-5S Stage Settings UPDATED: Yet another Rhodes Stage Setting. The velocity response on this one is completely different from anything else in the PX-5S. It has a very nice soft touch but is also very expressive. Stage Setting HerbiesRoadz.ZPF and HexLayer (TouchEP1.ZLT) included. Controls: Slider 1: Distortion Gain (Off by default) Slider 2: Speaker (Bypassed by Default) Slider 3: "Bell Tone" Slider 4-6: Standard Effects. Knobs 1-4: EQ Stereo Tremolo is done using the Arpeggiator. If you want to turn it off just press the Arpeggiator button...no depth control sorry. But you can adjust speed with TEMPO. Variations: New version with Phaser also attached. Click here to download this file

  7. Good evening guys. I am a music producer/beatmaker, born as a guitarist, who learned piano self-taught over the years. I enjoyed playing pianos and e-pianos on my long time Casio - CDP 100, while I used a cheap but effective MIDI controller for general DAW control, pads, drums, etc. Unfortunately, since I left my country and all my stuff in my parents' house, I won't be able to have these two pieces of equipment with me. I was looking for a convenient solution that could give me both a digital piano with good sounds and a midi controller (also because my flat is tiny). After browsing the web and shops in my city, I found the new CT-S400 to be the sweet spot between my budget/quality of sounds/keybed feel and playability. I was happy to see that it could also work efficiently as a MIDI controller. One thing I wasn't able to verify though, was its MIDI/SySex implementation for DAW control and clock, mostly transport controls (play, stop and record from within the DAW). They were quite essential for my workflow, and the lack of it could actually be a dealbreaker. Does any possessor or Casio expert know more about this? During my research I found out that the CT-S500 has something like that only for play/stop commands, but I am not sure if it could be worth, at least for me, to spend +100 € more, to have just part of these function. Thank you for reading this message and I wish you a great night. Pietro
  8. Hi everyone, My name is Leon, I'm new to this forum and the Casio keyboards, in general. Just recently, a friend of mine brought his Casio PX-S3000 to my studio. Apparently there was a big controversy on YouTube regarding the keybed and the weight difference between the black and white keys. My friend was curious to know how I felt about this keyboard. So I tried it out and really liked the way the keybed felt. I played some advanced repertoire and techniques and it was pretty responsive. Then my friend suggested I should make a video and talk about my honest opinion and share it with the Casio community. Hope you find this video informative and enjoyable. Glad to be part of this community.
  9. Here is something for you fans of classic Casio keyboards (perhaps) I found an olde recording from my archive of forgotten files Not much to say, really - It is as it is. So, please excuse the quality of this file. It is here for remembrance and a bit of nostalgia 🥰 Jay 🎹
  10. Hey, I am a beginner. I have heard that Synthesia app better than cordana and I am going to buy my first piano. I am interest in Lk-S250 but if it not support Synthesia I have to go for other keyboard. I just want to make sure if it support Synthesia app and light up... T.I.A
  11. Hi everyone, I bought an SD card (SDHC) for my CDP 230R but unfortunately it seems to be incompatible. I have followed the instructions written in the manual of the piano "to only use SD or SDHC cards not exceeding 32 GB", but it is not working. I see the error message "Err Format" when I try to format the card for the first time directly in the piano. I have precisely bought this: https://www.amazon.nl/-/en/dp/B08GYG6T12/?th=1 I am wondering if somebody had the very same issue if someone is able to share with me any solution; I thank you in advance for anything you can share 🙂 All the best 😉
  12. Here's a little thing I recorded some time back ago on the iPad, with sound solely from the Casio CT-S1. I polished it a bit, and here's the result. It is very much inspired by the style and music of Greek-American composer Yanni. Hence, the name on the track Jay 🎹
  13. Hi everybody, Just a heads up that I posted a piano patch I've poured a lot of time into over the last week - follow the link below to give the stage setting a try. Check out the different fader/knob/wheel assignments as listed on the post below as well 👇👇👇 And - if you please - check out the video below for a little demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7XHGmV59Eo

Hello everyone! It has been a pleasure delving into the PX-5S community throughout the last few weeks - what a fantastic group of folks willing to help each other out. Thanks for having me. On to what you are here for: the Flavell Horns stage setting 🥳🤠 The patch consists of four tones, assigned and volume-controlled by slider: Slider 1: Choir Pad Slider 2: Saxophones Slider 3: Brass Slider 4: Piano There are three features of this stage setting that set it aside from other horn patches: real-time vibrato rate and depth adjustments, the ability to perform "pseudo-falls," and three separate cutoff assignments for extremely shapeable, dynamic timbres. 1. Vibrato rate vs. depth Slider 5 controls the rate of vibrato (fast vs. slow) while the mod wheel controls vibrato amplitude (deep vs. shallow). Slider 5 at around 090+ and mod wheel all the way up creates a brass shake. For a gentle warble effect, dial slider 5 to around 010-020 and raise the mod wheel about 1/2 of the way. 2. Falls, scoops The pitch bend wheel has been modified to perform comfortable falls (simply hold down a chord with one hand, and quickly bend the wheel all the way down - once all the way down, release the chord). Scoops and other pitch inflections are also very doable with the current pitch bend wheel settings. 3. Timbre alterations/secret sauce 🙂 There are a couple more parameters that provide for a highly flexible stage setting, spanning from punchy horn sections to extremely mellow pads: Knob 1 controls frequency cutoff for Z1: Choir Pad Knob 2 controls frequency cutoff for Z2: Saxophones Knob 3 controls frequency cutoff for Z3: Brass Slider 6 controls global reverb Slider 1 is intentionally left at 0 volume when you load up the setting because of its reverb tail. I find that it's not as suitable for more aggressive timbres that can be crafted with this stage setting; it's meant for gentler, paddy textures that can be quickly created by turning down each of the first three knobs. Generally: Knobs set to low cutoff = mellow and pad-like Knobs set to high cutoff = bright and aggressive So there you have it! I hope you enjoy this stage setting Be sure to play around with the different sliders, knobs, and wheels before tossing it out too soon...and I would appreciate it if you left a comment down below of your thoughts. Thank you, and have a totally tubular day. -Alex Flavell
  15. I was trying out the My Setup-function on my CT-S1, and the resulting sound reminded me of this gospel song. One I used to sing several years ago in a gospel choir. 😊 Jay 🎹
  16. I happened upon a wonderful solo piano interpretation of this piece by an Italian pianist, Andrea Carri (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFbor-STslE&list=FLOVsap3ETXN641nYQ4v76Sw&index=2). I did a cover of this piece several years ago on this forum, but I was a noob with the PX560 and my playing abilities, so I was never really happy with it. Using the very handy https://app.musicspeedchanger.com/ once again, I was able to slow down the audio and learn by ear the Carri version. I really love how he interjects Bach's Sheep May Safely Graze into the mix. This is a four hands piano solo, so I used (4) midi tracks with (4) different piano voices: Noire Grand for backing rhythm GrPno Studio for bass Gr Piano Dolce for the lyrics GrPno Classic for the Bach runs BS_Symphony.mp3

I modified an S.S. existing by adding a Synt-Choir to emulate the e-piano sound you can hear in Jay Oliver and D. Weckl's "A Symple Prayer". On the third slider you can change the amount of synt-choir to your liking. Any suggestions or improvements are welcome. thanks to the whole community

  20. For no reason my post has disappeared (I wonder why). Voices used - It is a mix of PX-360 Grand Piano and FA-08 RD-1000. One of the goal was to create a piece that is easy to play. I know, there are a couple of places which may involve some extra efforts to play it smoothly. However overall it a very simple piece. I modified the GrPnoConcert again and this time added Stereo3BndEQ DSP. Each area registration uses the same sound but the Knob assignments are different to get a variety of different piano flavors. Adjust K1 and K2 to taste. 1. Modified GrPnoConcert using Stereo3BndEQ (K1 cutoff freq, K2 resonance) - turn K1 down for a more mellow sound 2. Modified GrPnoConcert using Stereo3BndEQ (K1 brilliance, K2 reverb send) 3. Modified GrPnoConcert using Stereo3BndEQ (K1 chorus send, K2 reverb send)- a little chorus can go a long way 4. Modified GrPnoConcert using Stereo3BndEQ (K1 attack time, K2 release time) - you can get some interesting sounds changing K1 and K2
