  5. Hi all, I have just ordered an iPad to use with Casio px5 to solve 2 big (for me) problems with casio: the monophonic mode with synth and the weak organ sound engine. for organ I think I'll use App Galileo, or maybe the hammond in Garageband, I'll have to try. For synth I want to know what app do you use for reliable, solid use in LIVE gigs (not amateur use at home). It's fundamental that the synth have mono/legato option, poly mode, and that I can change preset throught midi program change from casio and that it can work on only one midi channel. I already bought animoog with black friday sales, thinking that changing preset throught program change was a common feature in all app synth, but I was wrong..it doesn't do it (for me, unbelieveble) I want to know some app synth with this features and that doesn't get no issues with nothing. I'm looking to sunrizer and magellan (I prefer the second for sound), but I want to know if someone of you use them in live use and if there is any problems. or any other app suggestions? I want to link the mini jack out of iPAd to mini jack in of casio, is there any problem? I read that the output of iPad is a bit low, can I balance its audio with casio audio with line in Gain, or there is too much difference and have to further boost the ipad signal? Thank you for the replies

Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again Depeche Mode - Everything Counts OMD - Electricity OMD - Enola Gay Peter Schilling - Major Tom Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World Soft Cell - Tainted Love Soft Cell - Say Hello, Wave Goodbye Hope you like them!

  19. Anyone have any idea how I can get this sound on my PX5S? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!

This is a choir/synth pad. I created this sound to use on tour with the progressive band Renaissance, featured in their song "Grandine il Vento".
  21. Good day to all! Just got this white, black, and blue beauty a week ago. Overwhelmed for sure, but in a great way. And, although it's been said many, many times, the support for this product is unreal....simply uneal. It just feels like the momentum has built up so much since I first took a chance on the "limited edition" PX-3 four or so years ago. I digress. So, user jimmyjames did a fantastic job with his 3-way split for the Phoenix song '1901'. Not only is the song really fantastic, it's also seems like a bit of a departure from the classic rock and/or 80's-based tones that are focused on in this forum. Not to be mistaken, I LOVE both of those "era's", and I've downloaded those tones/settings and am loving playing those songs. EP's are killing me softly!! But I'm not seeing a ton of user-generated "modern" stuff. I think Mike (Martin) alluded to an idea, in one of his videos/clinics, that with the XW synths on the market, this PX-5s can do all kinds of things but not necessarily what the XW can do in terms of creating synth tones (heavily paraphraing, there). I'm new to synthesis, hex layering, and basically all of the above, but I'm trying to swim to the deep end as fast as possible. I'm curious if anyone who likes a challenge would want to figure out a stage setting that encompasses the M83 song "Midnight City" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX3k_QDnzHE). I've tried with minimal success to replicate just ONE of the tones. I'm just a wee grasshopper. But similar to learning a cover song, I love to get the tone from elsewhere and then analyze.dissect it and learn from it. That said, it would be really cool to see some more "modern" stage setting downloads and tones. Hats off again to jimmyjames for finding those splits for '1901'. I've had a ton of fun playing along! And thanks again to everyone for sounds old and new...the support for these Casio products has been a very strong determining factor when it comes to convincing the wife that I need "yet another keyboard"....
  22. Has anyone had any luck building some good ambient stage settings on the PX-5S? I'm trying to write in the vein of Sigur Ros, Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Tycho, etc., and I would really like to build some cool ambient stage settings. Anybody have one they can share, or have any tips on building my own?
  23. Hi. I'm have a desktop synth module that I'm trying to controll with my Privia. I have the audio outs of the synth module connected to the audio ins of the Privia and the Midi Out of the Privia connected to the Midi In on the synth. The audio outs of the Privia are routed to my amp. Everything works perfectly with the exception that I cannot figure out how to mute the sounds produced by the Privia without also muting the sound coming in from the synth. Ideally I want a Stage setting which just passes through the audio in signal while not playing any internal sounds. I've tried turning off all the zones as well as turning down the volume on all the zones but in both instances I no longer hear the signal coming from the external synth. Is it possible to accomplish this somehow? What am I overlooking?
