  1. Hello, I would like to know, how can I improve the quality of the sounds that I am creating from the data editor? Thanks.
  2. Well, I loaded up the data editor, but it looks to work differently than the PX-5S. Either that or I have a problem. The keyboard is connected via USB. But when I go to the "transfer" section, the right pane doesn't view performances, solo synth patches, etc. that are already on the keyboard. It shows a blank list. Already tried closing / reopening the data editor, powering the keyboard off and on again, etc. Am I missing anything else? Or does the XW-P1 data editor work differently from that of the PX-5S?
  3. G'day all and thanks for contributing to this plethora of knowledge regarding the Casio Synths. I bought the XW-P1 last year and was completely daunted by the depth and versatility of Casio's contraption, not having any idea on what I was really buying. But I know Casio has been building digital keyboards for years and have heard from many people in the industry that they usually sound better than the rest. My biggest problem is I have no idea how to play it, but i'll persevere... I've been searching the forum for more detail on how to things. A big thanks to Patrick for the huge post on how to upload WAV files via the Casio XW Data Manager. Q.1) I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on how to create a SMF (Standard MIDI File) type 0 / or type 1 (*.mid) that will be compatible for upload to the XW-P1 ? Q.2) If this is possible are you then able to play normally over the MIDI output with all the functionality of the Synth? Q.3) I noticed upon playback of my sample .WAV file - that I was restricted to only using the solo synth tone category? There is no mention on capability during file playback in the manual on E-72 or there after. Could I edit the default synth tone? Thanks again for anyone who may answer these questions, unfortunately i have run out of time to look through http://www.casiomusicforums.com/ for an answer.... If someone knows of a document, thread or video about these things - can you please let us know? CHEERS Thanks again all! Happy Jamming !
  4. I used my data editor to upload some new stage settings to my keyboard 10 minutes ago... But now - all of the sudden - I can't move any files around. I keep getting the message "BULK DUMP IS DISABLED" I am only trying to move one stage setting at a time... It worked great yesterday... What happened here?
  5. I created a sample in Logic Pro X to use as an interlude between songs for my band's live sets. I bounced it from Logic converted the sample to the G1 format using the Data Editor. Then I transferred the sample onto the keyboard to U:201. But then when I went to trigger the sample (which is a minute long) it only plays for 15 seconds and then cuts off. I tried holding the key down, and I also tried using the "hold" button. I tried pressing all different keys on the keyboard and my sample still cuts off. But it doesn't cut off in the same exact spot every time, so I know it's not a problem with the sample I loaded in. It cuts off at different spots within a 10-20 second window. Also, I loaded in a bass drop which is only about 5 seconds long, and it plays the whole thing, I also loaded in another little 5 second sample I made, and it plays the whole thing. I had no problems converting or transferring the file, but the XW-G1 keeps cutting off the sample after about 15 seconds. Is this something wrong with the keyboard? Is there a certain way I need to bounce/export my file out of Logic? Help please!

  7. Hi everybody, I'm just aqquired a Casio XW-G1 last week in Chile, and I've trying really hard to connect the unit to several PCs to use the Data Editor using the USB cable, but I can't make the application find the synth. I've trying to connect to 3 windows based PCs and the problem persist. Systems are follows: 1. Desktop computer: Processor i7 2600K (4.4 GHz) 8 GB RAM, Asus p8z68 deluxe Mother Board, 500 GB HDD, Audio Card Creative SB X-Fi Titanium, Asus GTX560 Ti DC graphics card. OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits. 2. Laptop SONY VAIO VGN-NR350FE, Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 (1,83 GHz), 4 GB RAM , 250 GB HDD, High Definition Audio, Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family graphics card. OS Windows 7 64 bits. 3. Netbook Lenovo Ideapad S10-3t, Processor Intel Atom N450 (1.66 GHz), 2 GB RAM, 220 GB HDD, Conexant SmartAudio HD, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 graphics card. OS Windows Ultimate 32 bits. XW-G1 Version 1.10 As midi controller the synth works fine: keys, velocity, knobs 1 to 4, bender and modulation wheels are OK, but in the data editor (tried versions 1.1.1 and 1.1.0) read the message "Failed to connect to XW-G1" . I tried with several USB cables and ports, but the editor can't find the synth, Casio USB-MIDI its availale at combo box in Preferences, but there is a connection failure. Casio USB Driver in Windows device manager appears to be OK, but manufacturer its set "generic USB Audio", and driver provider is Microsoft. I tried installng Casio Midi Drivers downloaded from Casio website (CCMID12 32 bit driver, and CCUSBX64 64 bit driver), but device its no longer available in data editor when Casio driver its installed. Maybe I missed a synth or system setup, or the unit present a failure, or its an unknown compability issue, I've looking for information over the web, but it seems a very particular problem (don't know other cases). It's really extrange, because I'm an advanced user in both PC and Synths and its been kind frustrating been unable to find the solution to this problem. Hope can find some help and answers here. Thanks in advance and best regards.
