The idea was to create a stage setting to play "To the end of the world" by Pat Metheny Group with a background of string pads, a double bass and a piano. I hope my Master Lyle (Mays) will be kind to me... TAKE43_1.wav TAKE55_1.wav
  2. This is a pretty useful stage setting with a DX electric piano on S1, a wurly on S2 and warm pads on S3 (delay and reverb on S5, S6 as usual). I think the wurly gives an extra bite to the DX and makes it less cheesy ;-). DX+Wurly+Pad.ZPF

Hello everyone! It has been a pleasure delving into the PX-5S community throughout the last few weeks - what a fantastic group of folks willing to help each other out. Thanks for having me. On to what you are here for: the Flavell Horns stage setting 🥳🤠 The patch consists of four tones, assigned and volume-controlled by slider: Slider 1: Choir Pad Slider 2: Saxophones Slider 3: Brass Slider 4: Piano There are three features of this stage setting that set it aside from other horn patches: real-time vibrato rate and depth adjustments, the ability to perform "pseudo-falls," and three separate cutoff assignments for extremely shapeable, dynamic timbres. 1. Vibrato rate vs. depth Slider 5 controls the rate of vibrato (fast vs. slow) while the mod wheel controls vibrato amplitude (deep vs. shallow). Slider 5 at around 090+ and mod wheel all the way up creates a brass shake. For a gentle warble effect, dial slider 5 to around 010-020 and raise the mod wheel about 1/2 of the way. 2. Falls, scoops The pitch bend wheel has been modified to perform comfortable falls (simply hold down a chord with one hand, and quickly bend the wheel all the way down - once all the way down, release the chord). Scoops and other pitch inflections are also very doable with the current pitch bend wheel settings. 3. Timbre alterations/secret sauce 🙂 There are a couple more parameters that provide for a highly flexible stage setting, spanning from punchy horn sections to extremely mellow pads: Knob 1 controls frequency cutoff for Z1: Choir Pad Knob 2 controls frequency cutoff for Z2: Saxophones Knob 3 controls frequency cutoff for Z3: Brass Slider 6 controls global reverb Slider 1 is intentionally left at 0 volume when you load up the setting because of its reverb tail. I find that it's not as suitable for more aggressive timbres that can be crafted with this stage setting; it's meant for gentler, paddy textures that can be quickly created by turning down each of the first three knobs. Generally: Knobs set to low cutoff = mellow and pad-like Knobs set to high cutoff = bright and aggressive So there you have it! I hope you enjoy this stage setting Be sure to play around with the different sliders, knobs, and wheels before tossing it out too soon...and I would appreciate it if you left a comment down below of your thoughts. Thank you, and have a totally tubular day. -Alex Flavell

Hi, it´s bimfood again 😅 - I´d like to share one of my selfmade tones - based on a choir sample. Sounds a bit fairlighdish. Have fun. Maybe the Sample Volume is much to loud. So be carefull with that. Also the Loop Points didn´t get the phase-walkthrough 100% accurate, so you will hear a little bit of crackling in the background. Fairlighdish Choir.ztn

Lots of great real-time control: Knob 1: Detune Knob 2: Portamento Time Knob 3: Attack Knob 4: Release Slider 1: Filter Slider 2: Resonance Slider 3: Phaser Depth Slider 4: Chorus Slider 5: Delay Slider 6: Reverb

A Stage Setting inspired by what was started during Live Clinic #2....although the final product went a different direction. Sliders 1-2 control filter for the pad. Knobs 1-4 control the sound of the arpeggiated part. Enjoy. Audio Demo: https://soundcloud.com/casiomusicgear/casio-px-5s-orbiting

  8. Hello to all, I had search several times for instructions or tips to create or customize the "perfect" background sound or pad effect, in order to have an atmospherical fill to the music, or to any solo jammed, or instrumental piece. i cannot find this info. in some webpages i found and downloaded some keyboard effects (.tn7) and works for my wk6600, but in all the downloaded files, I just found 1 pad (or background effect as I called it) named "woodpad.tn7" that sounds nice, but is not the one i like to use in all my pieces. I could ask for the files in order to have more options, but i like more to teach me how you set the effect in order to "learn fishing and not receive the food on the mouth" i mean, i wan to know your opinion to how do you creat you onw pad o background sounds please. a big hug😀

Here is a great sounding Rhodes layered with a Voice pad. Download the 3 files, the first hex-layer tone is the Clean73Mark1 (Rhodes) & the second one is the hex-layer Angels Sing 2 (Voicepad) and the third file is the Registration file called Ep & Pad. Load both hex-layer tones in your PX-560M user slots and than load the Registration in one slot and Store it. After loading the Registration place the Clean73Mark1 (Rhodes) tone in the Upper 1 & the second tone Angel Sings 2 in the Upper 2 and than Store the registration again. Knob 1 - Amp (you can choose between various Amp models which drastically change the sound of the Rhodes) Knob 2 - Reverb Knob 3 - Chorus Modulation Wheel - Tremolo of the Rhodes Expression pedal - Volume/Expression for the Voicepad (not affecting the Rhodes) Pressing the Split button you'll have acess to a bass tone in the lower pasrt of the keyboard. Hope you like the sound and you'll have good use of it for your live perofrmances! Here is the link of the video demo, it starts at 0:54 sec:
  10. Hollow Strings View File This is a custom Hex Layer tone using all 6 heavily edited layers (Sine from scratch, Synth Voice, White Noise, Strings x2 and Pad). Has a slight swell built into it. Good for Praise Band or any type of music requiring something different and mood setting. Hard to believe this is one Tone in the PX5S..... 12. Layered 60's EP View File Took a stock 60's EP and "opened" up the filter and some resonance with slight Attack/Delay tweaks. (A bit brighter sound I think and percussiveness.) Very clean pure sound. The Pad is a totally original Hex Layer tone (Hollow Strings) using all 6 heavily edited layers (new Sine, Synth Voice, Strings x2, White Noise,Pad). Pad has a very slight "swell" built in to add evolving motion. Goal was to create something out of the norm and different but pleasing with certain types of songs. So feel free to use the two tones in whatever you can think of!! The first two sliders control the EP and Pad volumes. Built my own custom Organ Hex Layer Tone using all 6 Hex Layers. Basically combined several Organ Tones (plus a Voice) and edited the pitch and filter sections heavily. This is my own sound, not trying to be another sound, just a decent cool organ for pads mostly. This is a tone, so can create Stage setting with other 3 zones to add strings, piano or anything else. https://soundcloud.com/baymond-rell/bays-organ-custom-privia-pro-px-5s-tone-patch

  16. New PX560 owner! I went through all the factory tones looking for a nice subtle pad to underlie upper 1 and 2 tones for use in church settings. Couldn't really find anything that wasn't edgy or weird. Anybody have any suggestions? I can get around well enough to edit something, or if you want to upload something that would be great. Thanks in advance.
  17. Is there a way to assign the slow/fast function of the tone wheel organ speaker to a foot control pedal or one of the pads on the MZ-X500? I'm finding that the small "slow/fast" button at the far left of the keyboard is not in a very convenient location and is a very small target during a live performance.
  18. How can I diminish or increase the preset volume level of the standard percussive sounds assigned to the pads relative to the other voices? Some I've the drums triggered by the pads overpower the accompanying rhythm and tones. Specifically P182 EthnicPerc 1 and P184 EthnicPerc 3

I've probably spent more time on this Stage Setting than any other. This is a 4 zone Stage Setting set up as follows: Zone1: Strings Zone2: Pad Zone3: Synth Arp Zone4: Piano Sliders 1-4 correspond to volume of each of those. It starts with the volume of zones 1-3 set to 0. Slider 5 is a wonderful stereo panning delay for the piano part. What makes this Stage Setting different is the way each of the parts are voiced. This Stage Setting is "radio ready" or performance ready in that it utilizes a narrow amplitude dynamic range while still remaining remarkably expressive. Pedal 2 is an essential element of this Stage Setting as it is set up to toggle the filter. This allows this Stage Setting to breath. This is an especially unique and powerful aspect of the PX-5S. Enjoy.

  21. SilkySmooth2 View File A variation on a stock preset, the Silky Smooth2 press is a little darker, wider in the stereo field and has a phaser effect for some extra animation. This is a Hex Layer tone so a Hex Layer category tone must be selected in Upper1 before going to the Media menu to load this file. Submitter Mike Martin Submitted 06/02/2016 Category Privia PX-560

This is a unique pad with Oberheim and Moog type overtones. Responds excellent to velocity (play soft for best rresults) This pad has all zones with full key range. You ccan really modify to your liking by playing with the key ranges, particularly the bass (to have more or less bottom end). Will upload another version with the key ranges modified. Thanks, hope you guys like this...first one. - Walt https://soundcloud.com/baymond-rell/oberish-padwav
  24. Just wanted to share the stage setting that I usually use when playing at church. 4 zones: Pad, Strings, Piano, E Piano Slider 1: Piano volume Slider 2: Strings volume Slider 3: Pad volume Slider 4: E Piano volume Slider 5: Delay Slider 6: Aux volume The Pad sound is based on the Maximilion stage setting, with some tweaks. I only have it sounding in the lower part of the keyboard (but shifted up an octave). Download can be found here.
  25. In the middle of my WK-7600 front-underside there is an empty spot to adhere a rubber foot, just like the oval feet that already exist on the right and left (see photo, attached). It's been like this since I got it, and there is no residue at all, suggesting there never was a foot there. To all you 7600 owners: Does your keyboard have a missing middle rubber foot in front, or do you have all three front feet? Thanks so much, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and this kind of thing makes me very curious! UltraBird
