Hello. I'm trying to see if I can (somewhat) recreate the Crystal Rhodes/EP sound from the JD-800. From what I can gather from the internet, that patch was made with an EP waveform, a pad waveform, and a gamelan waveform. The PX-5S has comparable EP and pad waveforms, what I can't find is something similar to the gamelan sound. All the metallic percussion has "thud" sound and the synths have a guitar "pluck" sound. I need that "tink" sound from the JD's waveform. Does anyone have any ideas to get that sound from the PX-5S? I'm about two to three weeks into this, and am bashing my head against the wall. I'm starting to think I may need to use 2 HexLayers to make it; one for the gamelan sound and the other for the EP-pad layer. Aside from that, I still need to figure out how the filters effected those old waveforms to match that. Any help in the right direction would be appreciated. Thank, y'all.

Roland just uploaded these video where you can program music now kids (actually every one)can make music while learning programming ante up the fun combining two things, How cool is that. I've always found it to be a small behind the curtains thing in the past and the past few years , I've seen Casio, Korg ,Moog , Yamaha and Roland really building up music education programs which is really opening up to new media and growing possibilities that opens up gear in more then one way.

How do I import sound files from my Roland SC88 sound module so they are permanently in my xwp1 TIA

I've just bought a Roland A500 Pro to hook up to my PX5S (and of course a DAW at some stage) and am starting to work on the basics of driving zones - so I've managed to play with setting the zones off/on for the PX5S but realising that, even when off on the PX5S, they can still be driven by the A500. But does anyone know if it is possible to assign a PX5s tone/stage setting to a channel other than 1-4 so that I can then drive that from the A500? In my limited logic, this would mean that I could assign up to additional "patches" to be driven by the A500. Or is it not as simple as that? I've exchanged some points on the FB page and it seems it may not be possible but just wondering if I can get a definitive answer here/ TIA, Kev
