  1. File Name: Drum loops File Submitter: dippysteve File Submitted: 03 Nov 2015 File Category: PX-5S Phrases Many people have talked on here about rhythm loops and I have had a little experiment with a few ideas. I found for me, the easiest way is to set my rhythm loops up on a phrase which then repeats. A simple swing rhythm in the background of Misty played on piano and strings is quite nice. I have also found that setting sliders 1-4 to volume for zones 1 to 4 means I am able to balance between (for example) 1- Drums -2 Hex Grand Piano 3- Electric Piano 4- Strings. This creates a very simple but effective canvas to work with. I program my various rhythms so they are sequentially programmed on the phrases so for example 101-Swing 1, 102-swing 2 103-swing 3 etc.. this means that with a single stage setting, I can simply push the phrase button and then the + or - button to step through to the pattern I want. I have basic bossanova, several swing, ballad and a latin pop rhythm I use. You can also vary sound a little by changing the drum kit used. It is important to have the zone enabled so you can still effect it with the various knobs and sliders. To prevent the keys sounding the percussive sounds I set the Drum zone (which has to be Zone 1) so that it only plays on G9. I have attached a few drum loop phrases. If you are able to change between phrases on the first beat of the bar then you can change mid play without any noticeable interruption. I have attached a few phrases for you to put on your PX5S to have a play with... Remember to unzip them and put them in your musicdat folder. Upload them into your phrase section and have fun. If any one needs a stage setting file using them, let me know. My swing patterns were loaded from phrase 101-106. Regards Steve Click here to download this file
  2. Hi, does anyone have any idea how to add swing after a quantized MIDI recording at the MZ-X500 ? Swing means to move every second MIDI note by a defined value (usually in %). It would be too tedious to make all adjustments manually for each note in the event editor. Regards Popsel

  4. This is my first use of Band-In-A-Box (BIAB) from PG Music (Canada) and I'm happy with it. "I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me" is a simple little ditty by Jimmy McHugh and Clarence Gaskill, published in 1926, and leant itself well to my first BIAB project. The sax solo is generated from the software from tracks created by an in studio musician. I love this software. It's not too pricey, but the add-ons (additional live musicians called RealTracks) can add up. I used my Casio PX-350 for the piano. I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me.mp3
