This is my stage setting for Feels like the First Time by Foreigner. It has an organ sound in the lower part of the keyboard and the arpeggiated sequence from D6 upwards. All you need to do for that sequence is press D6. You won't need the other notes unless your band transposes it. The arpeggio consists of 6 notes, each of which make up one beat. It is set to the correct time for the track, but if your band deviates slightly from that tempo just press the note again on one of the beats. I tend to press it at the start of every bar regardless just to keep it nicely synced. If you tend to play it at an entirely different speed, then use the TEMPO button in conjustion with - & + buttons beside it to select another speed. I have not included a synth lead as I usually play that on another keyboard. You can choose your favourite one and add it in, or if you get stuck let me know and I might be able to help. I hope you like it. 🙂 Here is a demo of the arpeggiated sound:

  3. I just died in your arms View File Hello. I have just made this stage setting for Cutting Crew's song "I just died in your arms tonight". I have arpeggiated the double notes so that they sound very even and mechanical, and there is also another arpeggiator which adds a bit more life to it, I think. I had a third one which was even better, but I decided to reluctantly delete it to give the melody more strength. This is one of my first goes with the arpeggiator - or indeed any arpeggiator - and I am surprise how much fun it is to both program and play. .The stage setting has a piccalo, synth, synth strings & a cello. I hope you like it. 🙂 Here is a quick demo: Submitter Knuckles Submitted 03/06/2019 Category Song Ready Stage Settings

  5. recently purchased this board, and getting a feel for the arpeggiator. The hold feature on it makes sense, but I have a question. I know I can have each zone trigger a different arpeggio, but can I have one zone on arpeggio hold with another merely having it on (but not on hold). It seems right now as if the hold feature affects all zones, or none at all. Thanks!
  6. Hello everyone, first time posting here for me: I own both an XWP1 and PX5S and am going to use them in tandem for a piece I have put together for Good Friday so I thought I would share how I am using both keyboards in conjunction with one another. PX5S: Concert Grand XWP1: 👉Performance mode Zone 1 drawbar organ - volume knob 1 Zone 2 voice ensemble - volume knob 2 Zone 3 strings ensemble - volume knob 3 Zone 4 Harp - volume knob 4 - connected to arpeggiator 👉Step Sequencer 6/8 Drum 1 - I have tweaked a few parts to match the feel of the song but mostly using to keep time as the piece is of a slow tempo. I have recorded the base of the piece (about a 3 minute loop) with the phrase sequencer and all four zones, creating a warm somber synth feel. Because I have all four voices connected to knobs 1-4 I can control each of the volumes within the piece in real time. I start with Zones 2 and 3 then add in Zone 1 (drawbar organ) also having control over the rotory button which makes for great texture. The big reveal is when I turn on the arpeggiator and then turn up knob 4 to bring in the harp. I have this sync'd with the step sequencer so that the timing is automatic. This adds yet another great layer to the piece. I am running the XWP1 into the PX5s and assigning an additional overall external volume control to one of the sliders then simply using the Concert Grand tone on the PX5S to play along to the phrase I have constructed. It is the most ambitious I have been yet in using the two keyboards together and it is a blast! OH - I'm going to attempt to fade the 6/8 shaker out by assigning it to one of the 8 parts and have each step velocity fade. It's the only way I can think of to create a fade. Any thoughts?
  7. Question all. Does anyone know where I can find a good video or instruction on how to create user arpeggios on the MZ X500? I've gone to the user arpeggio spot on the keyboard and I clicked edit. Once I'm there I'm not really sure what I'm looking at or what to do next. I think I even created an arpeggio last night but I don't know how I did it. lol Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Please, report to Casio: there is no trace of the Arpeggiator in the technical description of the PX-560M neither here http://www.casio-music.com/it/strumenti/pianoforti-digitali/privia-pro/px-560m/ nor here http://www.casiomusicgear.com/products/menu_privia/PX-560 while it is one of the functions that led me to choose the Casio PX-560M rather than an other model of an other brand I would like in a future upgrade of the firmware a little bit of EDIT of the Arpeggiator in the PX-560M, that contains the 100 presets as the PX-5S, though I already know the main difference between the models: the PX-5S has 4 arpeggiators fully programmable, the PX-560M has 1 arpeggiator only assignable to a part and not programmable at all See Mike from 04'30" till 08'30" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPSVqrKvHv8 I would love for instance that you could assign the Arpeggiator to a parameter without repeating notes, it is a fact that the preset 3 = Panning already affects the CC#10 Pan and the preset 4 = Filtering affects the CC#74 Filter Cutoff (Set a Knob to the value above and see it move in a registration screen) I am only asking, wishing it can be done, it is a fact that nobody thought that an upgrade would come in such a short time so as to fix the problem of the Drums on CH10 in the MIDI files and to add the utility Save / Load All on USB stick

  11. I am using the same tone + arpeggiator across two different zones. (Long story as to why I need to do that, but it will basically make playing a part easier during live performance.) I'm using the mac UI for editing the stage setting, and EVERYTHING seems to look identical across the two zones. And yet, when I go to play, zone 1's tone+arpeggiator is significantly louder than zone 2. Any thoughts on why this might be? The volume of the two zones is exactly the same.

  14. Hello all! Okay - I have finally figured out user rhythms and registrations! Yay.....Here is my latest question: I would like to split the keyboard in 2 with an arpeggiated tone on each 1/2. This is for "Heart of Glass" - Blondie. There is an arpeggiated drone in the bass and a sweeping poly-synth type of sound up high. I have chosen arpeggiators for each tone but I don't know if an arpeggiator can be split or if you can only choose one and use across all the keys. Thank you!!!
  15. I've been impressed by the ability of the PX-5s arpeggiator to send control data (http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/7341-px-5s-arp-angel/), as recently demonstrated by Mike Martin. Then I realised that the XW step sequencer can do this as well, paving the way for it to act like the PX-5s arpeggiator. The XW step sequencer has 4 control tracks which can send CC messages and pitch bends to channels 8-16 and channel 1; which means that it can be used to areggiate live performance in zone 1. Just specify channel 1 as the destination of the control track in Step Sequencer->Edit->Track Param->Ctrl. Ch. The Ctrl. Ch parameter is hidden deep within the menus and doesn't appear on the Track Param screen until you press Part+ several times to get to the control tracks. Up to 16 steps need to be set up manually, but effects like tremolo (CC07), vibrato (pitch bend), wah (CC74), autopan (CC10), etc. can all be created, simultaneously if necessary, via the step sequencer; leaving the DSP available for other things. The XW arpeggiator and step sequencer can both be running at the same time affecting live performance in zone 1.
  16. Hello everybody and thank you so much for every precious information you shared. I bought my px-5s a few months ago and I must confess I finally realized a dream since I was a teenager while I studied piano, but I would never hoped to possess a such jewel !!! Now I really feel like an enthusiastic teenager and I'm "re"-moving my first steps into a daw e midi recording after so many years... Sorry for the due intro, the question now: is it possible to record by the sequencer into my daw the only trigger notes without generate hundreds of midi events when arpeggiator is ON ? I would like to record an hexlayer sound with arpeggiator into audio track coming from the line out of the PX-5S, but record also the midi track so to possibly revise the notes I play. I read it is possible with Yamaha Motif by setting "Main ARP ON/OFF Switch = ON". Thanks in advance Tarcisio
  17. I'm putting in an 8 bar drum beat 8 high hats bass drum on the beat snare on the off beat how do I get the high hat and snare to play on the same beat ? Here is "Pick up the pieces" by the A W Band which runs into an Irish jig with all PX-5s Fx TAKE17.WAV
  18. Anybody know how to get the MIDI-In port to trigger the Arpeggiator on the XW-G1? Basically...what i'm trying to do... I've got an Omnichord OM-250 with MIDI- Going into my XWG1. The Omnichord outputs MIDI on channels 1-4. I can figure out how to change sounds of each channel... But cant figure out how to get any of the channels to start the arpeggiator. (channel 3 which outputs chords is the one I want to use) Gone through all settings and menus... But I don't know... I would also like to go from MIDI Out on my JUNO-106 to MIDI in on my XW - trigger ARP then- MIDI out back to JUNO I've been able to use the XW-G1 built in keyboard and arpeggiator and MIDI out only... but not as midi IN and OUt sorry if i've made this kinda confusing

I took the sound I programmed yesterday, slowed the tempo a bit and added piano to a third zone A Stage Setting using two zones which explores more into synth side of the PX-5S. This is a Trance Gate sound which makes use of the arpeggiator to repeat notes within a pattern. Stereo crossed delay is added for some additional spice. Now layered with the Modern Grand on Zone 3. When playing this make use of Slider 1 for filter and Slider 2 for resonance. Knob 2 will add portamento to the pad sound behind the gated pattern. Slider 3 changes the octave of two components within the Trancegate sound. Here is the original for reference: http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/26-trancegate1/
