  1. I am attempting to use a USB-type B cable to connect the 560 to a Mac for home use with GarageBand. I cannot get the device to recognize the keyboard. In searching Apple I found how to use the Test MIDI Setup button in the MIDI Studio toolbar. the process shows me that data is transmitting out but NOT in. Any help is appreciated.
  2. Can anyone point to a specific USB to Bluetooth adapter that they know will pair any of the CT-X siblings to IOS and/or Mac hardware? T.I.A. !!!
  3. I have a Casio PX150 connected to my Mac using the USB cable. It is communicating and using Garageband for sounds but the volume is significantly low even at the computer's maximum volume setting. It also requires impractical key force to generate volume. It produces a strong as should be expected signal according to the DAW meters but the actual audio I hear through headphones is weak. The same is true when hooked up to Kontakt and 3rd party sample software. I see a good signal tripping the meters but this is not reflected in the signal through my headphones. The headphones are fine. I use them everyday. Regardless, I have tried two different pairs while testing the setup using a Mac Pro, Mac Mini and Macbook Pro. Each computer has a different OS version but they all meet the minimum requirements. It has not displayed this problem in the past. I was able to use the piano without this problem. It has been over a year since I used the piano. The keyboard has sat in the same place. It was under a dust cover. I just did not have time to play it. I doubt it is related to failure in the hardware. I had disconnected the USB cable because during the time I was not playing I had acquired the Mac Pro and shifted my desktop area to accommodate two systems and three ACD's. There must be something in the settings I am doing wrong. I have only set up the connection a few times. But I was able to do it without a problem each time. Usually the keyboard was connected and I just turned it on and opened software. I tried different sequences turning each on first. Reconnecting the keyboard I could have forgotten a setting or something. I read the user guide and it is a very simple process. There is nothing like this in the trouble shooting section. Sharing any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I can't get my new Px860 piano keyboard to register on my MacBook running OS 10.12.x (latest always ) in Notion. I have a connection to the PX 860 in the MIDI Utilitybut not from the 860 to the Mac. The Casio tech said the PX 860 was incompatible with the Mac after OS 10.9.x! MIDI doesn't change that much. I thought I saw people on here using the 760 with MIDI thru Windows 10. Are there ways to get the PX 860 to transmit to the latest Mac OS or do I have to send this otherwise excellent keyboard back?

  6. So i just bought my Casio PX-5s and I am having some trouble loading patches that i downloaded from this website. I have them all in the left list (PC user data files) but when i drag them over into the instrument list it asks if I want to replace stage setting already on the piano. I'm worried that means I will be overwriting stock sounds/settings which I definitely don't want to do. I was hoping there would be a seperate section for me to drag these custom patches or stage settings. Yes i have read the editor manual btw. Page 16 onwards was helpful but still didn't enlighten me on this matter. I guess I don't understand the interface too well yet. Any help would be appreciated Michael
  7. If you're on a Mac computer and want to update your XW to the latest firmware, please take note. Apple's GateKeeper security will claim the the firmware updater file is corrupt. You have to disable this feature before downloading the file from the Casio website. After you've done the firmware update you can return the Gatekeeper back to it's default setting. For more information on Gatekeeper, please see this article. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5290
  8. To day I have tried to update the firmware on my XW-P1 that I LOVE - what a instrument . But I get problems with the update. I downloaded that who should be the new 1.11 update from 18.12.2013 from Casio support site (see pic0). I turned of my AntiVirus software before I start downloading and followed the instructions one the same page. At step 5 in the instructions I get problems: When I "Double-click the update program" I get following error message: "XW-P1 Updater.app" is damaged and can't be opened. It should been moved to the Trash Bin (see pict1 - its in Swedish). When I open the info panel for the XW-P1 Updater.app in Finder, it says that the file is last changed the 28 may 2012 (see pic2). Is this really the newest firmware of this file? I restarted my Mac and XW-P1 and have tried 5 more times before I write this Topic. What is wrong? Is there someone that can help me? Thanks in advance /MigthyThor
  9. Hi- First post here, thanks for the support. tech support on the phone said goodbye as soon as I said "computer" I have been unable to open files created on my PX130 on my computer. I have tried both the proprietary files, and .mid files with Finale, Garage Band, and Quick Time- all give the same response: This file type is not supported. Please help!!! Thanks.
