  1. Just purchased a PX-870 and really like it... EXCEPT... I get it all setup the way I want - some added brilliance, adjusted touch, enabled external speaker, and a few other tweaks. All with that tedious "find what key does what function" using the big instruction sheet (why, oh why, are most of the functions not labeled above the keyboard?). Now I turn it off (or it turns itself off after a while) and when I turn it back on - it is reset to the default "concert grand" piano and none of the tweaks I worked hard to get just right. Every single time I turn this on I have to redo all the setting changes? That is crazy - the piano is plugged in so there is power available to keep the settings without any battery. Is my unit defective or is this how it is actually designed? Hard to believe there could be such an obvious design shortcoming on a device of this class. Does anyone else have this problem?
  2. Looking for insight on AC adapters for 80s Casio keyboards, specifically AD-5 adapters. I have a Casiotone CT-605 and CT-310. The power ratings on the back panels of each are the following: DC 9V, 9.2W for the CT-605. DC 9V, 8.5W for the CT-310. No explicit rating is given for the input current. The AC adapter for both (and many others) is the Casio AD-5. I'm assuming that the adapters vary in name based on the region they're used. For instance AD-5U (USA), AD-5UL, AD-5J (Japan), AD-5E, AD-5EL, and so on. They all seem to output 9V, 850mA. Am I correct in assuming that the above keyboards require currents of 9.2W/9V = ~1022mA and 8.5W/9 = ~944mA? If so, why do the AD-5 adapters output a lower current than the devices they're supposed to power? What am I missing here? I have a non OEM adapter whose specs for output match the AD-5 adapter (9V, 850mA). Both of the keyboards turn on and seem to function completely fine with it, but I don't want to risk any long term damage, if any is possible. Thanks!

I always like a piano sound that cuts through a mix. This registration file contains four similar power pianos (these are modifications of the factory default GrPnoConcert tone and have a more powerful attack). Each registration has a different Touch Response setting. DSP is Stereo1BndEQ with an increased Dry Level. Knobs control Brilliance/Reverb. Rhythm is Straight 8Bt.
  4. HI, back in India playing my beloved px-560, I have spontaneous power failure using accompany while playing piano after sometime. Also you have to wait some time before restart. Can it be overload? What to do?
  5. Hi, Folks. Does anyone use a non-Casio brand power supply on a PX-5S? I'm planning to buy a couple, probably off of Amazon, as spares for when I lose or forget the one that came with the keyboard. Endorsements and warnings both welcome.
  6. I left my AC adapter in another town this morning. Grasping at a straw, can the PX-5S be powered by its (rear) USB port?
  7. Hi Everyone, Been searching the docs, this forum, and the 'net. Behavior: PX-5S, Firmware 1.13 - If I power up the keyboard using the power adapter, and no batteries in the compartment, it eventually (after hours) seems to power itself off (screen dark) but will power up normally by simply pressing the power button. Background: Performed an outdoor show last weekend it was humid, and between sound check and the show, there was some drizzle, but the PX-5S was sheltered. Played a 90 minute show with no issue, packed up and went home, but since there was the outdoor exposure, I brought it inside, and left the (ATA) case open so that any humidity trapped inside the keyboard or case would dry out. The next day, I powered up and played for a few minutes, testing the keys, buttons, etc -- all working - so far, so good. I decided to leave it powered up, and to my surprise, after a number of hours (not sure excatly, but more than 2 or 3) the LCD is dark - and it appears that the keyboard powered itself off. I've repeated this 3 or 4 times, asked around the family, "Is anyone powering the Casio off?", and even put it in a room with low/no foot traffic (which also means a different a/c outlet.) It still powers off, eventually. Any ideas? Is this a "feature"? Memory leak? Should I expect the PX-5S to remain powered up as long as there is A/C power? Anyone curious enough to leave their PX-5S powered up on a/c overnight, as a test? I honestly just want to know if anything is wrong, or going wrong, because when I test it, it does seem to work properly. Many thanks, -Harris
  8. Hi. I have the PX750. Was doing OK until one day kids might have messed with it. It turns on fine, lights initialise but then i realise the power lamp is not lighted. I also get no sound. I've tried function / local sound etc but get nothing. I can't seem to enable operation tone either. One thing for sure, operation lock works (func+last key) Off and on it seems to be OK when I mess around enough with function+X but after I disconnect mains and try to turn it on again, I get this non operative mode. Can anyone tell me what's going on pls. Must be some midi/usb/local setting.... Thanks
