I was playing with the rhythms in the "World" category and I found this particular one (Mus) interesting. Never heard it before but it sounds exotic to me... Anyway, the melody evolved, it's a very simple one, but I like the minor chords. I added some "synth-strings" as a layer on the piano, and I'm learning to adjust the levels, both of the layer and the accompaniment. I hope it doesn't sound too intrusive.

Things are kind of slow and frustrating these days because my RH fingers hurt a bit (can't play the piano too much) and I can't wait for this darn episode to be behind me... Hopefully all will be OK afterwards. Anyway, I was listening to an old song of mine that I called "Calypso" at the time and eventually I added the Casio accompaniment and it became "Island Song". So here's the original version: (forgive the flaws, pls) I was wondering if the rhythm version is better... I think it is, although the regular piano version could be improved. Calypso.mp3

This is a re-interpretation of one of two songs that I wanted to "rehabilitate" (unhappy with the current product) before the end of the year. The lyrics are in Spanish, sorry, and you have to press the "CC" button in YouTube to see them... I tried to temper a bit the rhythm, so I hope it sounds better... BTW, it was very hard to add the lyrics to the video, and YOuTube is doing away with the "annotation" system, which is how I've been doing it. I may have to find a different platform for doing this, but that may be a project for next year...

Boogie Woogie Christmas (Original Composition)
sergio posted a topic in Share Your Casio Music Here!
The last song was hard (for me) to put together, and I felt liberated after finishing it (not happy with the product). And then, this simple melody came to me, new rhythm, and I had a lot of fun recording it. I hope you enjoy! Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah (belated), and Happy Holidays to everyone! -
I've been working on this song for a while and it was hard with all the other things going on (like carpal tunnel syndrome)... It's a beautiful melody, and I found it difficult to come up with something I would enjoy listening to. There's a couple of errors in it, but I'm tired and want to move on... I think I learned a lot arranging it...

This was the first time I used the auto rhythm, and it was soooo easy and I really enjoyed it. Also a "happy" song...

OK. Here's a happy song from the archives...

This was my second experiment with auto rhythm... My left hand in a cast motivated me to explore the auto rhythm. It really helped me a lot. Another "romantic" song... Hey, I am what I am... Besame Mucho.mp3

These are the first "covers" I recorded when I first got the awesome keyboard... Blue Moon.mp3 La Vie en Rose.mp3

Things are kind of slow and I'm not currently working on anything, so this is an early "song" of mine (piece?). Many of these early songs I revisited later with the auto rhythm, but I couldn't do anything with this one, so I left it alone. It's simple, not fancy, and you got to love those space shots... 🙂

This is another early "song" (not sure what it is)... You can tell how my technique is lacking, because I couldn't play the notes as fast as it should, etc., but hey, I do my best... 😀 Dance.mp3

This is not bad, I think... I hope you can tell the "dialogue" going on in the song... Conversation.mp3

Hello everyone! Have you guys experienced the same problem as I did? I just bought the PX-780 and I think everything on it is pretty impressive, except for one thing: When you play between forte and fortissimo, the volume of the sound steeps up considerably. (see attached graphic) This happens mainly with the main sound 001 Grand piano concert, but is also an issue with others such as modern piano, rock piano, etc. I found that it should be a software problem as the 004 Grand piano classical and 007 Grand piano dolce don't have this problem but... I don't like them too much as the sound is too mellow for my taste. NOTE: I tried changing the touch sensitive to 3 but the problem persists. I saw that another user at Amazon reviews has also noticed this problem, so it's not my imagination. Also, if I use the Privia piano as a MIDI controler and use a VST such as Pianoteq on my PC there is not such problem. What do you think? For me this is just not acceptable, I have played digital pianos for more than 20 years (Roland, mainly) and this was never an issue, so CASIO, I hope you are able to solve this problem soon via a software update or something like that. I have wrote to CASIO technical support but have no response yet after 3 days. tip to CASIO tech staff: maybe you forgot to normalize between several "layers" of samples when you build the virtual instrument. Please help me if you are able.

Hello Everyone, I've had a PX-780 for about four months now, and recently started noticing a 'clattering' noise coming from the middle C key when it bumps back up after release; it sounds as if something in the mechanism below the key is a bit looser than it should be. The noise is not terribly loud, but loud enough to be clearly audible and disturbing (at least to me...) I have a feeling it is probably not too difficult to find out what causes the noise and to fix it if I could get to the mechanism underneath the key, but it looks like this is quite complicated (I'm not even 100% sure if it is possible at all with this model), and I read in some threads here that attempting to open up your piano is not advisable if you're not completely sure what you're doing. Does anyone have experience with this? I could also try to get it repaired, but I'm not sure if this would fall under any sort of warranty - perhaps it is considered normal? Also, given the fact that it's only a relatively minor issue, sending it back is probably more risky and troublesome than it's worth. Reading threads on this forum about comparable issues, it seems like there is no easy solution, so I am already more or less assuming that this is something I'll just have to learn to live with, but I thought I'd give it a try here anyway... who knows someone might have a brilliant idea. Thanks! Stefan

Yes, I've read and followed the instructions on how to use the function button, etc. Nothing I do in the temperament field changes the pitch one cent - I've checked it with a tuner, and it's always the same. The factory default seems WAY over-tempered... the lower register is too sharp and the upper too flat. Am I missing something here? Please help. Thanks.

Greetings to all, Has anyone had the urge to create a metronome other than the one provided with our AP (or most PX for that matter)? As I am mostly a beginner both at learning the basics of piano and venturing into the possibilities offered by my AP-650, I need to practice my Muzio Clementi part with a metronome as requested by my piano teacher. But the AP (and/or PX) metronome (especially the *DING*) is driving me literally UP the walls. Has anyone programmed/created a metronome sound from the rhythms section (into a “User Rhythm) for the same reason that I am hoping to achieve: use a friendly non-abrasive metronome sound that can be recorded on the USB flash key as I wish to report via Internet to my piano teacher with a wav (or MP3 once transformed) file of the part (Muzio) accompanied by the friendly metronome creation. This metronome rhythm could simply be “Wood Block” in 8 beat rhythm accentuated/punctuated by an effect such as reverb, different pitch (if possible) or simply greater volume. I have been reviewing the user manual for several minutes (read hours) and venturing in trying to achieve this goal but without any foreseeable success. Can anyone here (Casio AP/PX tech-savvy friend) please help hoping this might come in handy to others as well? Many thanks in advance. Fred

Hi,This is my first post so welcome everybody. Recently I've bought PX-780 for my son. Soon I've discovered strange and very annoying issue. For no reason, without pressing pedal or any function keys suddenly the sustain is on. Sometimes it happens after few whiles of playing or just after playing few notes. Sometimes it doesn't happen. And it's really hard to turn off. Obviously it makes playing very unpleasant and hard, it's just not fun it should be. Of course I've made reset view times but it didn't help. When I've asked Casio support they only told me to send instrument to service. I understand that, but it's not a pair of shoes and idea of dismantling it, protecting, packing and sending makes me sick. So if anybody have some ideas i would really appreciate this.

Hi, I'm new here. I am thinking of getting a digital piano. I am a beginner and my daughter will hopefully start using it as well. I had been looking at the PX-780. I understand that the 780 has various educational and fun features. But the PX-850 has a few more features of its own. I am wondering if I can do some of the educational stuff on the 850. For example, if I got a couple of midi files to play along to then I could have a similar "accompanied" effect on the 850. If I have read the manual correctly then the tempo of the midi playback could be slowed as needed and it would still give the opportunity to have fun and practice timing. Can the 850 play midi files the same way as the 780? Will the shorter list of voices on the 850 cause problems with playing back the midi accompaniment file? Can I get hold of accompaniment files which will only use instruments supported on the 850? Sorry if the question is daft. Thank you.
