  1. File Name: HerbiesRoadz (Updated) File Submitter: Mike Martin File Submitted: 16 Oct 2013 File Category: PX-5S Stage Settings UPDATED: Yet another Rhodes Stage Setting. The velocity response on this one is completely different from anything else in the PX-5S. It has a very nice soft touch but is also very expressive. Stage Setting HerbiesRoadz.ZPF and HexLayer (TouchEP1.ZLT) included. Controls: Slider 1: Distortion Gain (Off by default) Slider 2: Speaker (Bypassed by Default) Slider 3: "Bell Tone" Slider 4-6: Standard Effects. Knobs 1-4: EQ Stereo Tremolo is done using the Arpeggiator. If you want to turn it off just press the Arpeggiator button...no depth control sorry. But you can adjust speed with TEMPO. Variations: New version with Phaser also attached. Click here to download this file
  2. Wow, that is a long title. 😬 What I mean by it, is that I want to know, whether I can set up one of the knobs, via the stage setting, on the PX-5S, to dynamically alter the program number, that is sent out in a program change message to an external instrument? I have already learned at a stage setting can send a one program change message, when that stage setting is selected. I just want to ad the functionality, for the user, to change the value in that program change message with a knob turn, instead of having to go in to the menus. I wonder if it is done by sending a RPN or NRPN? Jay🎹
  3. Hi everyone I am new to this forum and the PX-5S. On Soundcloud.com I've come across the following PX-5S demo: Casio Music Gear@soundcloud: orbiting The accompanying text says "A new sound that is available for download at www.casiomusicforums.com for the Privia PX-5S." But where on this forum do I find it? - I've been looking high and low for this, but to no avail. Help is much appreciated! Thanks, Jay 🎵

Stage Setting and Phrases for Baba O'riley by The Who. To work properly, you will need to download the phrase files and place them on your PX-5S in the phrase library. The BABARP1 consists of the continuous arpeggio with the notes C, F and octave C, allocated in zone 1. The BABAARP2 consists of 2 bars of a half step ornament, allocated in zone 4. And the BABAARP3 consists of a hole step ornament, allocated in zone 3. The stage setting BABAORIL has 4 zones. Zone 1: GrPnoConcert, with Sustain Pedal; Zone 2, 3, 4: Pulse Lead 1, without Sustain Pedal. I made some modifications of EQ and FX individually in the stage setting itself. I hope to help the forum friends as others have already helped me with great contributions. BABAARP1.ZPH BABAARP2.ZPH BABAARP3.ZPH BABAORIL.ZPF

This zip file contains the Stage Setting and the Percussion file needed to reproduce the sound in the included sample MP3. Don't forget to update the phrase location in the stage setting with whatever phrase slot you end up using for the percussion loop. Sliders 1 and 2 control the two organ layers. Pedal 1 switches between fast and slow rotary, which also switches between the C1 and C3 chorus settings. Pedal 2 toggles the percussion off and on. I heard this song on a long road trip recently and I couldn't help but think about how to replicate it on the PX-5S. For hours, I tried many different settings and tried to "brew" my own effects, but I found that layering the stock Distortion Organ patch with an octave higher worked surprisingly well! Unfortunately, we don't have a lead guitar player in the band, so I probably won't actually use this, but I enjoyed the challenge.

Edit: Well, I'm trying to delete this post, since I realized I should have put it in the Song Ready download area. That doesn't seem to be easy/obvious/possible. Or I'm missing something completely obvious, which isn't unlikely, either. Edit 2: I almost forgot to mention the controls! Sliders 1 and 2 control the two organ layers. 9. Away Strings View File Custom Hex Tone Using all 6 layers. Unique string sound I came up with for live use - cuts very well, has a cool, unique sound. Maintains separation of individual notes for live performance in a band. Sample is below for mid range. The Stage setting will have the drone bass and edited Orchestra tone for upper keybed (lowered octaves) but can edit to your liking. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Hk_uKK5YkaMkZKdWl6TjRVY1k/view?usp=sharing Submitter Walt from NC Submitted 05/14/2017 Category Strings, Brass and Orchestral

This is my first attempt at preparing any stage setting. Thought I'd share for any who could use it. I didn't do a ton of editing on the sounds themselves but this is set up nicely for a live jam of this song. There are three splits.. Going from the bottom up... lowest is the synthy opening sound with the delay set at 120 bpm (should be the tempo of original song). Next up is a pipe organ for the chorus, and above that are strings for both the chorus/bridge/2nd verse. Hope you find it useful! Jonathan
  12. I have figured out how to edit some of the stage setting sounds. But I cannot figure out how to edit the given names. Can anyone give me a clue. Tried to find in manual (sucks big time) and have watched some of the you tube-no luck. Thanks
  13. Can someone please upload the blade runner stage setting in the download section ? Thank you !!
  14. Hi there is a place when i can hear the sound \ stage setting files before download in this forum ?
  15. On my new PX-5s, which I have had for about a week, I am curious if I want to download a new sound or stage setting, especially some written or used by Mike Martin, will I have to replace a factory sound or stage setting? I suppose in the matter of stage settings in particular as there are 100 of them, to add a new one would mean taking the place of an existing one? Is so can I put sounds or stage settings on a USB drive for use directly from the drive or would they need to reside on board to use during a performance?
  16. There are a couple of edits, but the outcome is what I wanted. OK, here's the link. http://youtu.be/oQinHyd5Qpo
  17. Dear friends i would like to know if it is possible to set to zero the external input volume for a particular stage setting. My tipical use of PX5S is as stage piano (tone generator: ON, midi output: OFF)as MIDI controller of external module (tone generator: OFF, midi output: ON)As my external modules produce a little continous white noise when module is stand by, when I use PX5S as stage piano I would like to zero the external input volume of PX5S to avoid noise overlapped with PX5S. Is it possible? One possible workaround is to assign external input volume to a slider/knob for stage settings used as stage piano: it works but I lose a slider/knob...
  18. when a stage setting is based on a user tone to load stage setting you must load tone before? the link between them is automatic?

Mezzoforte EP - programed by Kristian Terzic I've tryed to emulate the Digital Electric Piano sound from the song "Playing For Time" of the Icelandic jazz-fusion band Mezzoforte. It's a work in progress and this is the first version. Stage Setting with 4 zones, 3 zones are active (1,3,4) and zone 2 can be turned on with the Pedal number 2 on which is assigned the function Zone on/off... Here is the audio demo of the Mezzoforte EP: https://soundcloud.com/casio-px-5s/mezzoforte-ep-casio-px5s-demo-by-kristian-terzic And here you have the original song by Mezzoforte:
  20. Hello, I've been searching through this forum but didn't see this issue directly talked about. It may not be an issue - it may be me doing something wrong. My firmware version is v1.11 . I've saved stage setting 3-1 in it's default state (Modern EP) onto the USB drive. I then changed the tone on 3-1 to GrPnoConcert [00] I write the stage setting to 3-1 with the grand piano sound. I load the original stage setting back into the Px-5s at 3-1 from the USB drive. Playing on the keyboard, the electric piano tone has replaced the grand piano. I switch banks and stage settings and come back to 3-1 and it still is playing the electric piano sound as expected after having loaded the stage setting back in. Everything seems to be working fine. I power off the keyboard. I turn it back on. Select stage setting 3-1 and it is no longer playing the electric piano sound, it is playing the grand piano sound. My assumptions were that loading in a stage setting would replace the settings of the stage setting at the particular bank and slot. It doesn't seem to keep the tone once the device is powered off. Am I missing a step in loading the stage setting somewhere? Why would it work initially and allow me to jump to other patches and come back, but when I turn the power off, it reverts to the last tone I wrote to that stage setting spot? Thank you

I'm playing a solo synth lead part on the Casio XW-P1 but i don't remember what was the sound name that i used on the video, maybe Mike will know. Hope you like it and you can use it as a template for your own stage settings! All the best, Kristian Terzic
