  1. I bought my CDP-S100 only a month ago and now the sustain pedal seems to not be working at all. I've tried two different pedals, the one that came with the piano and a third party one. Neither of them worked so I think the issue might be with the piano itself. Every time I power it on it acts like the pedal is pressed down even if the pedal isn't connected. The only way I've managed to fix this is to press the local control function key twice. This just cancels the sustain effect but the pedals still don't work. I'm wondering if there is some kind of hidden setting enabled which ignores the pedal and just turns on the sustain effect (I have done the factory reset so I doubt it). If you have had the same problem just let me know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  2. Not sure what's going on. This is a relatively new ex 500 that I bought used, as in a return. So far the sustain pedal has not been working, and it works on other boards. I went through the settings, by default it's set to Midi CC 64. I tried it on other settings as well, and it didn't work. This is on the pedal number one Jack. I also tried the expression pedal, in footpedal number 2, and no matter what CC it was set to it didn't seem to do anything except turn on and off the sound abruptly.
  3. I repaired a mangled socket (sustain pedal) on my XW-P1. I thought I'd make a video while I was doing it in case anyone else has the same problem:
  4. Which jack on the px 560 do I connect and configure my sustain pedal to ? Instructions not clear for me on this point. One jack is 'Damper' the other is 'Assignable'? Does it need to be configured at all? For now, I'm only needing basic sustain on my brand new keyboard. I don't want/need the Damper pedal functionality. Previous keyboards I've owned only had 'Sustain' jack. Thank you Stephen M
  5. My Casio CTK5000 keyboard will no longer sustain notes when using the sustain pedal. This is a sudden occupancy. I have checked the pedal with a meter and it is ok. Does anybody have any input?
  6. tommorrow or the next day i'm going to try a moog ep3 expression pedal with the privia 560 any tips? im mainly interested in good wah like sounds i'd especially like to control the LFO in the flanger or phaser dsp set at "random" waveform sigh but alas there is only one dsp for all the 17 midi record tracks...well maybe two ...i think someone said the rhythm section could have one? is there another way to get good distorted seperate wahs or some kind of distortion going for the other tracks? using what is controlable other than the dsps? that sure would be something.... my wish list for Casio is sounds like the new arrangers have like yamahas sweet and (?) sounds only that are more dirty "articulated distortion grunge" sounds.... hopefully i can download some soon along with reverb etc being non dsp they should have some sort of distortion channel all its own for all 17 tracks i think. does anyone know if the 560 can handle those new arranger keyboard sounds...not from yamaha but casio? that do glissandos, overblowing etc...that would be great..... ****** oh yes my 560 says assignable and damper on the back for pedals........ can i run a sustain pedal i got for free through the damper jack????or would it also have to go through the assignable? orrr can i use the moog ep3 as a sustain also by changing the parameters on the keyboard?????? i know it sounds stupid -and maybe is- saying can a damper be a sustain...but....one never knows these days..... thanks for putting up with me, alan
  7. Sometimes, when I turn on my Privia PX-5s, I will be playing around while it loads up, and when it finally does, the sustain pedal, instead of "sustaining", actually dampens, and without pressing any pedals, the keys are all automatically sustained? Is there any reason for this, could this be a short, or an issue with my keyboard. Usually if I turn it off and back on again it resets to normal with the keys working fine, and pressing the sustain pedal elongating the notes. Also, I have two pedals plugged in, one for the sustain and the other for the damper, not sure if this helps. Thanks you!
  8. HI all, Just to let you know that the link is for a sustain pedal that works fine with the ctk-7200 casio keyboard I have nothing to do with the firm just thought that it maybe of some use to those of us that are in the UK Brian http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390267499441
  9. I've had issues with sustain pedals for this workstation. If I try to plug and play using the assignable jack (after choosing sustain under Performance options), what I get is sustain of all notes as opposed to a typical sustain function. I've tried with several brands of pedals with no luck. My keyboardist friend tells me I need a polarity switch. Casio tells me that their SP-3 pedal should work with the workstation, but that pedal sucks. Has anyone else had this problem and/or does the M-Audio SP-2 sustain pedal work for this keyboard?
  10. Hi, I have a CDP-120 that I am using with the latest version of Logic 9. When recording, all of the notes and sustain pedal CC info can be correctly found in the Media Region / Events list on channel 1. For some reason, the sustain pedal CC info is being duplicated on channel 2 at the exact same location (measure & beat) as seen on channel 1. The end result is a very messy Events list with extra CC info that doesn't need to be there. Is there a way to manage the channel settings on this instrument? Thanks, Joe
  11. Hello, there is the possibility of a new firmware update to modify the system's sustain pedal? I ask this because I see that there are no hardware limitations that prevent the operation of continuous pedal. As both the pedal and the pedal 1 2 work continuously, for other functions such as expression, etc. Only sustain is on/off.
