  1. Hello, How do you save a layer tone? I have a wk-7500. I have edited a tone and saved it to user patch K001. I also changed its layer tone, and balance their volumes. Then I saved the tone again. The new layer tone does not save to the patch. I cannot find the instructions for this in the manual. How do you save the layer tone associated with a user patch?
  2. While I have owned my WK-7500 for almost two years, I finally connected it to my MacBook Pro via Data Manager. It works fine. I am curious to hear from other WK-7500 owners about how you use and benefit from Data Manager. Do you use it mainly as a backup device? I envision using it to store numerous, large Song Sequences (since the unit stores only 5) and then load them back into the WK-7500 as needed. What about you? Share your ideas no matter how basic they seem. The synergy of fresh ideas almost always yields more creativity and user satisfaction.
  3. Hello, I'm so glad there's such an active and helpful community. Things written here halped me greatly to shape my decision. Thank you all. I'm planning to get an AT-3 or AT-5 keyboard as my first arranger workstation. As far as I know, they're basically CTK-7000/WK-7500 keyboards modified for oriental styles. I have a few questions I couldn't find answers: I read that the older CTK-7000/WK-7500 keyboards have annoying keybed noise that is fixed in the newer CTK-7200/WK-7600 keyboards. I know all non-piano keyboards have that noise. But I'd like to know if people are exaggerating, or CTK-7000/WK-7500 is actually much worse than the newer editions in that regard. Is that noise so loud that would ruin live sessions where you sing through a dynamic microphone while playing the keyboard? Using Data Manager, can you convert new audio samples into Casio tones, or you're limited to modify the existing tones only? Can you store e.g. hundreds of Casio tones and rhythms in the SD card, and import them to main memory, without needing a computer? Can you do the same to edit a Casio formatted song from the SD card in the song sequencer? Can you apply effects like reverb, chorous, etc. to microphone and instrument inputs. I've seen model codes with K2 suffix on some web shops, like AT-3K2 or CTK-7000K2. How does K2 models differ from the non-K2 ones? I hope that's not too much. Thank you very much again, and have a great day. Dave
  4. Hi all I´m the owner of two Casio keyboards, WK-3800 and WK-7500.Since the old WK-3800 has much better speaker quality (frecuency response, basses and trebles ) ,I was wondering about hearing WK-7500´s sounds through the 3800´s speakers.But.... WK-3800 hasn´t a "Line In" or "Audio In" jack .Is it possible to add this INPUT?Any suggestion..Thanks Daniel
  5. I recently purchased a WK-7500 as a birthday present to myself and I'm absolutely loving it. I love the sounds, the effects, the sequencers, and the drawbar organ is a hoot to fool around with too! I do miss the kinds of evocative sounds that can be created with a synthesizer. Therefore I decided to pull out some of my older synthesizers, knowing that I could amplify these keyboards through the WK-7500's speakers. What's terribly frustrating is not being able to connect two keyboards together over MIDI because the WK-7500 has no standard MIDI ports. The WK-7500 could be the hub to drive, sequence and amplify all sorts of MIDI gear but is hampered by this glaring oversight. I understand that a USB port allows MIDI to flow between the WK-7500 and a computer. If I choose to not dedicate a computer or iPad to my setup, I would need an expensive adaptor like an iConnectMidi to connect two keyboards together. I was even considering purchasing an XW-P1, but again the lack of standard MIDI ports makes that a much more difficult purchase to justify. Please don't get me wrong. I really do love the WK-7500 but the addition of standard MIDI ports could have made this keyboard much more expandable and powerful. I don't regret my purchase because even as it is, I know I'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it! Pierre Fontaine pierrefontaine.webs.com
  6. Has anyone else found that the 76 Note Keyboard soft cases are too big for the WK-7500? I bought a 76 note keyboard bag and it was about 8 inches too long. My plan is to bring the WK-7500 on business trips (while driving my pickup truck around the USA). At my age, heavy road cases are too bulky and after two shoulder surgeries, my heavy-lifting days are over. I assessed that the WK-7500 was small for a 76 note keyboard, so I searched for a large 61 note keyboard soft case. I bought the Gator 61 note keyboard bag (Sweetwater item #:GBK61). It's tight, but it fits. That's good enough protection for my WK-7500. BTW - Sweetwater is real good at service and follow up. See below photos.
  7. Has anyone tried to replicate the sound of Mellotron strings or choirs on the WK-7500/CTK-6500? I've given it a few tries but can never really get to that kind of identifiable Mellotron sound.I'm a huge prog-rock fan and so far have been very happy with the Hammond/drawbar type organ sounds I've been able to generate, as well as getting some of the synth sounds to be a bit more aggresive (mostly by applying effects to the synth sounds). Mellotron-type string and choral sounds have eluded me however. I'm still debating about getting an XW-P1 and wonder if this might be better suited for generating these kinds of sounds. Of course, I could load up a VST Mellotron and use the Casio as a controller. There are plenty of Mellotron apps on the iPad but I don't believe that any can be controlled over MIDI. I'm really finding the WK-7500 to be such a fantastic instrument that I'd love to keep all my sounds "onboard" rather than have to connect up outboard gear. There's a nice prog-inspired piece I'm working on that I might upload as soon as I'm finished with it.Thanks in advance!Pierre
