spiro13
Hi I have a CGP 700 and am looking for a reasonably priced Keyboard Amp with a line-in feature to be able to play along with a prerecorded track. I am currently using a Samson powered speaker. It has a terrible tone and a constant hum. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Tony
Null
I use one of these with my secondary keyboard rig and it has decent sound and three independently controllable line inputs and 5 band EQ sliders. It's actually pretty decent sounding. http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-K450FX-BEHRINGER-ULTRATONE/dp/B000MJ9EBA But if you are looking for a purer sound I'd recommend getting a pair of studio powered monitors and a cheap mixer instead. These would give you a much better stereo studio sound. http://www.amazon.com/KRK-RP5G3-NA-Generation-Powered-Monitor/dp/B00FX7MMRO http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-502-XENYX502-5-Channel-Mixer/dp/B000J5UEGQ Personally in my main studio I use a pair of M-Audio BX5A monitors, a Mackie MR10Smk3 subwoofer and a Behringer Xenyx 1202FX mixer. The sound is spectacular but more than needed for an average room. http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-70-watt-Bi-amplified-Reference-Monitors/dp/B0014IEBM0 http://www.amazon.com/Mackie-MR10Smk3-10-Inch-Powered-Subwoofer/dp/B00EA25G12 http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-Xenyx-1202fx-Mixing-Console/dp/B000J5Y214 Really it all depends on how close your neighbours live and just how deaf/tolerant they are :D Gary
Joe Muscara
What's your goal here? You could just use the line in on the CGP-700 and let its sound system play the prerecorded music if this is just for you. If you need louder than that for a gig, then a powered speaker might be the way to go. My QSC K10 has RCA inputs that work well for devices such as a CD player or an iPhone. spiro13
I will use it for practice and in a small room. The problem with the line in on the CGP-700 is that the volume is controlled by the computer. It doesn't get loud enough to use prerecorded backing tracks. The Behringer Ultratone K450FX looks like it will do nicely. Thanks guys for the suggestions. Tony
Null
You're very welcome Tony. The K450FX and the built in Casio speakers will compliment each other nicely, with the Behringer supplying a deeper, richer bass while the CGP speakers reproduce the higher frequencies faithfully. raymb1
http://www.centerpointstereo.com/products.php This amp/speaker is the bomb!
Null
It's also almost 4 X the PRICE of the Behringer. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Spacestation3 Even a pair of Nearfield Monitors and a 200 Watt Sub add up to less Gary
