xera
When you finish recording, Casio MZ-X500 will save your MIDI recordings as ZMF. What it means is that you can not use your recordings on another brand of keyboards such as Korg .. etc. that accepts Midi file format 0. Meanwhile in the user manual page 61 Casio says that : ■ Types of Data MIDI recorder is stored on a USB flash drive as-is or stored as a MIDI file (SMF format 0). This is not true. It stores as ZMF. Any help greatly appreciated.
AlenK
Page EN-63 claims you can choose the file format (SMF or native ZMF) when you save the MIDI recording to a USB drive. The line you quoted says essentially the same thing. Were you not given the option for file type when you tried to save to USB? I don't have an X500 but I would be surprised if the manual is entirely wrong about that.
Brad Saucier
You are choosing "midi recorder data" from the menu. Choose "midi recorder smf" instead. 1
